Cool For a Night

I headed over to the Roost tonight to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked him for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Aria” for me. At least it wasn’t “Cafe K.K.” again, like it was the last two weeks!

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Aria.

I was walking down the very western edge of my town (I normally walk on the path alongside the river instead), and I apparently haven’t done that in months. That’s because I found a mushroom on the ground there! It’s normally hidden by the cherry trees there.

Finding a mushroom in winter!

So it’s been there since November! It was just a regular skinny mushroom though, so it wasn’t a piece of mush furniture or anything rare. But it’s kind of funny that it’s been sitting there for at least two months without being noticed! Oops!

Big Top asked me to catch a bagworm for him, so I went around shaking trees. I never found a bagworm, but I did find several bees…and they all stung me. Of course, my villagers were quick to point out my swollen face.

Scoot: ...Uhhh, J-boo? There's something, uh, different about your face. Is it, uh, bigger?

Moments later, Camofrog pinged me. He was thinking about moving out of town.

Camofrog: It's just about time I packed up my things and move on, ten-hut. >I see...

Even though he hasn’t been in town very long, I decided to let him go. He’s not one of my favorites, so I’d rather it was him that left instead of one of the villagers I like a lot. He’s not leaving just yet though, so I’ll probably see him next week still.

I took the bus out to the city and I paid Katrina 100 bells to tell my fortune. She said that she saw two little stars that grew brighter and brighter, and they shined down on me with a soothing, gentle light.

Katrina: The stars surrounding you shine down with a soothing, gentle light.

She said they revealed a gentleness and universal appeal that will garner me support, particularly among those who share my gender. I was curious to see what would happen, so I returned to Forest. Regular conversations didn’t seem any different. But when a male villager would ping me, they would tell me how cool they think I am. 😛

Biskit: I think you're so cool, in fact, that the only way you could be any cooler is if you wore a cape!

Biskit was the first one to do it, but later Big Top shared a similar sentiment.

Big Top: I feel shy saying this, but, uh... I think you're really cool.

It was pretty cool to see this, because I rarely go to Katrina. And even when I do, her fortunes seem to be neutral more often than not, so they don’t usually have any interesting effects. But it’s nice to be cool, at least for one night. 😛

See you next week! Never Stop Crossing!

Welcoming Willow

Yesterday, I recorded a video of a gameplay session in the snow. I uploaded the video today:

Today, I received a snowman wardrobe in the mail from the snowman I built yesterday. And speaking of that snowman, he was a little smaller (and perhaps cuter) today…but he was still just as happy with himself.

Snowman: I'll be looking fine when I represent Forest in the 2026 Mr. Snowman Snowslam!

It was snowing again tonight, and Camofrog was so freezing that I was afraid he was about to croak. 🐸

Camofrog: B-b-bah! It's freezing out here! And now that the sun's down, it's even w-w-worse, ten-hut!

I snuck up on the bulletin board bird and moved the camera so he practically flew right into it. 😛

A bit later, I went up to the Roost and asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “Cafe K.K.” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Cafe K.K..

It’s a pretty good song, but it’s the same song he just sang for me last week! Two weeks in a row is a bit much!

After completely circling around town, I finally noticed a new house right next door to mine. It was in the same spot where Mint just recently lived. Inside, I found Willow the yellow sheep. She seems nice, even if she refused to tell me which town she came from. 😛

Willow: I'm Willow, and I'm from... Well, maybe I'll keep THAT to myself, bo peep.
“I whip my wool back and forth,
I whip my wool back and forth…”

See you all next week! Stay safe (and warm) out there!

Flame War

As expected, I received Mint’s goodbye letter in the mail today. So long, Mint!

Dear Jeff, I've decided to move away from Forest. It's hard to say bye to good friends like you. So I won't. Because I'm SURE we'll meet again somewhere! From: Mint

Chip was standing outside of town hall, because there was another fishing tournament today. Of course, I missed out on it, but he informed me that Deena won the horse mackerel-only tourney by catching a 17.2-incher. Congrats, Deena!

Chip: Deena from here in Forest! Solid fishing! But not so much for you. Nyuuk nyuk!

I went over to the Roost to check out the Saturday night show, and K.K. performed “Cafe K.K.” for me.

After the show, Camofrog asked me to make a delivery to Scoot for him. He didn’t want to do it himself because he was afraid he’d be spotted…

Camofrog: See, if I get spotted handing over a present, things could get sticky...

But he’s camouflaged! How would anyone spot him?

On the way to Scoot’s house, I stopped to roll up a big snowman near the top of the waterfall. Fortunately, he was pleased with his appearance.

Snowman: But I never dreamed that I'd wind up this gorgeous! You, sir, are an artist! I can't think you enough!

I also took a screenshot of him from down below, too.

A snowman near the top of a waterfall looks out.

I found Scoot behind town hall, and he hated the gift (a flame shirt)!

Scoot: Camofrog doesn't look like it, but he's capable of some hardcore, ruthless jokes.
Camofrog thought the shirt was fire, but this duck thought it was fowl.

He disliked it so much that he was already starting to plan his revenge! Wow! It looks like this is starting a feud between them! Or…a flame war. The shirt isn’t that bad, man. I actually like it myself. 😛

I returned to Camofrog, and he was shocked that the gift didn’t go over well. He rewarded me with a boxing mat.

Camofrog: GRAH! Really? The gift was a total stinker?!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I’ll be back with another entry next week! Never Stop Crossing!
