Recycling for Popcorn?

Saharah was in town tonight, looking for old flooring. Most of my villagers seemed to be talking about her. Static suggested that Saharah’s broken English may just be a marketing ploy.

Static: I wonder if the whole 'I don't speak your language' thing is a trick to boost sales...

That’s pretty much what Häagen-Dazs (the ice cream company) did with their company name. It’s an American company, despite having a Dutch-sounding name.

I went around asking my villagers for old carpets, but I was getting rejected left and right.

Kitty: My carpet isn't old! If you think I'm lying, you should just have a look, I'm awful!

I was relieved when Punchy had an old carpet to give me. He suggested that Saharah’s recycling drive might be more successful is she offered peach crisp or popcorn instead of just other rugs. Not a bad idea.

Punchy: If only Saharah gave you stuff besides carpets, like peach crisp or popcorn...

Poor Bones was locked out of his house. I tried fishing for his key for a few minutes, but I didn’t have any luck and I eventually gave up. But as I was fishing, I just took this picture because I liked how the screen panned enough to fit the whole bend of the river into view.

Jeff fishes at the bend of the river in Forest.

That one carpet from Punchy was the only one I got all night. But fortunately, I had two others in storage. So I still had the three that I needed to get a rare carpet from Saharah.

Saharah: Oh! You bring carpet! And how many...3! Mine now!

Saharah gave me a music-room floor, which I didn’t particularly want. But it’s alright, it’s still nice to see Saharah once in a while, even if she doesn’t always give me something noteworthy.

Since last time, I’ve posted a new episode of Mario Plays ACCF. If you’d like to check it out, here it is:

I’ve also posted a video showing 101 pitfalls spanning 13 years of my Youtube channel. It’s not limited to ACCF pitfalls, but many of them are indeed from City Folk.

Festivale 2020

Viva Festivale! That quirky holiday featuring Pavé the peacock has come around again, so I made sure to have a quick chat with my fine feathered friend.

Pave: VIVA... ...FESTIVALE!

The object of the event is to collect candy of different colors and exchange it for Pavé furniture. You can earn candy by playing (and winning) games with the villagers that are outside. But if you lose those games, you risk losing candy (or bells).

Static: Seriously. I take candy from your pockets. And then I eat it. OMNOM NOM. Like that.

Those games include rock-paper-scissors, heads-or-tails, and “mouth soccer.” This festival can easily take hours to get the whole furniture set, but I only wanted a quick taste of it. So I only played long enough to get one piece of furniture, a Pavé table. I then sold it for 12,000 bells. It’s actually a pretty good holiday for earning money, if you saved leftover candy from last Halloween or Bunny Day.

But Festivale wasn’t the only noteworthy event of the day. Tiffany’s replacement has moved in, and it’s Purrl the cat! I like Purrl a lot, and I also have her in my other City Folk town of Mushroom (which I use for my Mario Plays ACCF series).

Purrl: What, can't you tell? I just moved here, and now I'm trying to get everything in its proper place!
Welcome to Forest!

Tom Nook must have been feeling blue, because the furniture selection today was all-blue. There was an IV drip (which has a blue stand), and also two pieces of furniture from the blue set.

Two pieces of blue furniture and a (blue) IV drip on sale at Nook 'n' Go in ACCF.
🎵 The furniture sings: I’m blue, I’m blue, I’m blue. 🎵

When I rode the bus out to the city, I spotted Phineas there. I asked him for a balloon, and he gave me an orange one. Thanks, Phineas!

Just a reminder that today is the last day of having snow on the ground! Get ready for green grass tomorrow! 🙂

If you’re interested in seeing more of Festivale, here is a video I recorded ten years ago, when I had Bella, Cesar, Cyrano, and Joey in town. Viva Festivale!

No Leg to Stand On

Last Saturday, I found Tiffany in her house, with her belongings all packed up in boxes. I said my final goodbye to her.

Tiffany: And treat yourself to a good splurge now and then! OK, bunbun?

I played again tonight and I got her goodbye letter in the mail. She thanked me for making her life in Forest “SO wonderful.” By capitalizing the “SO,” I’m pretty sure she was being sarcastic. And when I think of the times I pitfall’d her, glitched her in the river, and dropped a giant snowball on her head, I can’t say I blame her. 😛

To: Jeff, The day has come for me to leave Forest. Thank you for making here SO wonderful. I'll always remember you! -From: Tiffany

Kitty was sick with a cold tonight, so I bought some medicine for her. Just don’t say I’ve never been nice to Kitty. Because in 3+ years, this makes at least twice. 😉

Kitty flips as she takes her medicine.

My old buddy Puck asked me to catch a centipede for him, and I agreed to help out. I don’t know why all my villagers seem to want centipedes though! That would be the last bug I’d ever ask for!

Puck: So, J-bot, if you happen to have a spare centipede, would you mind giving it to me?

So I went around town, banging every rock I saw. Over and over. But every rock in the observable universe gave up nothing but pill bugs!

Jeff shows his pockets full of pill bugs in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I really wanted to help Puck out, but I failed miserably. It’s a bitter pill to swallow.

Anyway, if you haven’t yet seen City Folk Moments #9, here is the video. It starts off with a cool scene in which a pill bug tried to kill me! And later on, Goldie tried to kill me too. Well, there were a lot of attempted murders in this episode, but it’s all in good fun. 😛
