Hiding Behind Sterling

Puck told me that he was recently in a race with Limberg and Bones. Limberg won the race, which wasn’t surprising to me. He was probably running fast to escape his own stench. Bones finished second; he probably had to stop for a nap (or for a “snack run”). And Puck came in last place.

Puck: I was in a race a while ago. Limberg came in first places, Bones came in second place...

Sterling asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek, and I agreed. I had ten minutes to find him, Bones, and… wait, who else is playing?

Sterling: So us, we're the hiders. Sizzly J, you're the seeker!

Sterling’s suit of armor is so big that I couldn’t see who the other hider was! Or maybe he/she just starting hiding a bit too soon! 😉

As soon as the game started, I spotted Sterling immediately! I didn’t even have to move!

Sterling is visible from the start of the game.

It took me a few minutes to find Bones; he was hiding behind Sterling’s house. And about two minutes after that, I found Puck–he was the mystery player. He was surprised I found him because he was sucking in his belly.

Puck: How did you find me?! I was sucking in my belly and everything!

I can already see the difference between GameCube Puck and City Folk Puck. GameCube Puck often calls me fat, while City Folk Puck seems to poke fun at his own weight.

Anyway, finding him allowed me to win the game. Sterling gave me a mini gargloid as my prize.

At the fountain, I threw an axe to say hello to Serena. 😉

Serena: Just because you get a little praise, doesn't mean you should get a big head about it. Sheesh.

I made a trip to the city to finally get my hair dyed brown again. When I returned to town, I found Pascal standing on a bridge. I gave him a scallop, and in return, he gave me a ship cannon. He also had some words of wisdom about giving things a try, even if you think you’re not good at them.

Pascal: Kids who think they're not good at stuff usually end up being good at it, maaan. Ya just gotta try.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

A Better Penguin

It’s cherry blossom season now, and the pink petals are falling from the sky nonstop.

While I was visiting Limberg tonight, he asked me to make a delivery to Bones. Bones lives right next door, so it was an easy task to complete. I gave the package to Bones, and he found a bunny shirt inside. He put it on right away. I guess he’s all ready for Bunny Day now.

Bones: Is this a bunny shirt? Huh. I guess I should make the most of it, though, and give it a try, yip yip!

After visiting Roald, the next house I entered had a new villager inside: my old friend Puck (from my GameCube town)! Roald is even more useless now that I have a better penguin.

Puck: Nice to meetcha! I'm Puck, and I'm so happy to finally meet someone from this town!
Better ingredients. Better penguin.

At the Roost, K.K. Slider performed the song “To the Edge” for me.

K.K. Slider plays a song at the Roost in ACCF as the game credits roll.

Static asked me for some playful furniture, and I got the impression he was looking for kiddie furniture. Nook ‘n’ Go didn’t have any kiddie furniture today, but they did have a bottled ship. I wasn’t sure if that would qualify as “playful” enough, but I bought it anyway and took it back to Static. Fortunately, he really enjoyed it! He rewarded me with a lucky frog.

Static: I don't know what you must have gone through to get such a bottled ship thing, but I appreciate it.

I met Kitty near the bus stop; she said she was there to check the bus schedule. That was clearly a lie, but I let it slide this time.

Kitty: That's why I'm here to check the bus times.

I know I need to change my hair color back to brown, but I played too late; Shampoodle was already closed for the day.

That’s an Ugly Mouse

I got Dizzy’s goodbye letter in the mail today.

Dear Jeff, It's almost time for me to leave Forest. 'Cause of you, every day I lived here was tons of fun. Thanks for everything! I'll miss you! -Dizzy
I’ll miss you too.

Bones and Roald had a conversation near Nook ‘n’ Go, and I listened in. They were talking about a competition that was on TV last night, just going on and on about it. At least, until Roald said this:

Roald: And then one day, we'll be hockey stars, and we'll make the whole world cry like the babies they are!

Bones was confused, because he was talking about a pie-eating competition, not a hockey match. The conversation abruptly ended after that, as you might imagine. 😛

I went to the Roost, and Static was there enjoying some coffee. He said that the Roost is a real café, unlike those places where a bunch of little old ladies sip tea!

Static: You know the type of cafe where half the customers are little old ladies drinking tea?

He also talked about Brewster’s presence in the Roost.

Static: The owner here is a bird of few words. I can respect that. Zap it.

Once I was done checking out all of Static’s Roost dialogue, I sat down and enjoyed a live musical performance of K.K. Cruisin’. It’s always a good song to hear.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Cruisin'.

Not much else was going on in Forest tonight. I took a bus out to the city, and saw Rizzo there. I haven’t seen a lot of Rizzo in the series, but my first thought was: “Wow, that’s an ugly mouse.”

Rizzo: The other day when I passed the salon before it opened...

It looks like he has purple hair, with purple sideburns that go down his face and turn into a purple mustache. Some sites say it’s a scarf, not his hair, but why would you wear a scarf like that? Tie it under your nose so it covers your upper lip, but not your nose or mouth? Either way, I stand by what I said: That’s an ugly mouse.
