Kabuki Cuts Out

In last week’s video (Mario Plays ACCF #3), Mario used the DS Suitcase feature to visit Forest (to pick up the Mario outfit I left for him). But after returning to the town of Mushroom, Mario encountered something I didn’t expect in the city:

Ribbot: Whoa! Turn the brightness knob down on those sneakers, Mr. Roboto!

That’s Ribbot the robotic frog, but the interesting part is his catchphrase. Mr. Roboto is the custom catchphrase I gave Ribbot when he lived in Forest. That’s right, my Ribbot–who lived in Forest in 2014–has moved to Mario’s town of Mushroom!

He moved out in August of that year, which was after online play officially ended. So that Ribbot has apparently been stored in my town’s data, just waiting for another town to go to. It’s like the “void” in New Leaf; he just hasn’t had a chance to go anywhere until now. He may or may not move into Mushroom, but I thought it’s an interesting scenario regardless.

Anyway, back in Forest, Midge was talking about the Bug-Off coming up tomorrow. But with her catchphrase, she made the Bug-Off sound like part of her daily mite-removal routine. 😛

Midge: I'm looking forward to the Bug-Off, in my nest!

And when I went to visit Kabuki, I was sad to see he had his furniture all packed up in boxes. He’s moving out of town. 🙁

Kabuki: I know what you're thinking, and no, I'm not running off to the circus... But I am moving!

I don’t like seeing him go, but on the bright side, maybe his house plot (which was also Bob’s house plot years ago) will be empty in time for my 10th anniversary video. If that’s the case, I could re-plant some purple roses there to remember Bob. Hopefully my next villager won’t move into the same spot. Unless it was Bob…but that’s extremely unlikely. 😛

If you haven’t yet seen my latest episodes of Mario Plays ACCF, here’s last week’s video…

And here is this week’s video, Mario Plays ACCF #4. Mario gets a slingshot, meets Celeste, makes a constellation, and gets his first emotion from Dr. Shrunk.

Update: I forgot to mention this, but I did re-create the 3-way intersection patterns, and I finished placing the path in Forest. I also remembered to save those designs at Able Sisters this time.

Opal’s Key

Drift was planning on moving away one night recently, but I got him to change his mind. And then he got distracted by a bug. 😛

Drift: Since you're gonna go and cry about it, I won't move away, ooh, a fly!

Today, Midge was sick with a cold. So I gave her some medicine. Get well soon, Midge! Oh, and she said I was the best, in her nest. 😛

Midge: Oh, this is JUST what I needed... You're the best, in my nest...

Outside, Kabuki stopped me to ask for some regal furniture.

Kabuki: There you are, cupcake!
Where?

Opal locked herself out of her house and lost her key. Fortunately, it only took me two tries to fish it out of the river.

I caught a key! Whose key is this?

Opal said she would try to be a much better neighbor if I returned her key to her. So I handed it over, and I now expect cookies, cupcakes, and other baked goods from her every week. 😛

Opal: Ugh... If you were to give me my lost key right now... I'd try to be a MUCH better neighbor from now on!
Deal. Let’s start with chocolate chip.

If you haven’t seen last week’s video, here it is:

Part 3 will be posted to Youtube tomorrow. It will show a feature of ACCF that I have never used before this week, believe it or not. Also, Mario finally starts to look like himself, and one of my favorite dogs Butch moves into town. Check it out! 🙂

Making Tabby’s Enemy List

On Monday, Tabby told me she was cleaning out her place and asked if I’d be interested in some new furniture. I thought she was offering me free stuff, so I said yes. As it turns out, she was actually inviting me over to her house and I was forced to pick a meeting time! Ugh!

I had no intentions of meeting her, but I just said 8:41 p.m. to get out of the conversation. She warned me not to flake out on her, or I’d end up on her enemy list.

Tabby: Don't flake out, or I'll totally put you on my enemy list! Right under Midge!
After all that I’ve done, how am I not on your enemy list already?!

You have have noticed Pascal in that picture, and I went over to talk to him next. I gave him a scallop, and he gave me a keg in return. He also shared his views on miracles.

Pascal: Something's only a miracle if you want it to be, maaan.

Last night, I did some bug-hunting. It will probably be my last major bug-hunt of the year, and that’s a bit sad. But I had fun this summer, and I caught lots of bugs.

I caught a golden stag! The light, the blinding light!

I stopped shortly after hitting 80,000 bells on the night. That’s because that’s all I needed to reach 34 million bells in my savings account.

Your current balance is 34,000,000 bells.

Even though I didn’t state it in the blog, my goal was to earn (roughly) a million bells in July and another million in August. And I’ve met my goals. 🙂

Today, Maple told me she was thinking about moving away.

Maple: I just feel like I need a fresh start, buzz off!

I asked her to stay, and she initially refused. But when I found her again later, I got her to reconsider.

If you haven’t seen my video yet, here it is: Mario Plays ACCF. I started out a new town, met my starting villagers (and I got some good ones ;)), and began my new life. There are Mario voice clips and sound effects interspersed throughout the video that hopefully bring some humor. And my first pitfall seed worked out amazingly well. 😉

Keep an eye out for part 2 on Friday or Saturday.
