Tuna Salad Eating Contest?

There was a fishing tournament today, and Ruby seemed annoyed that so many people were taking it seriously. She said she was just in it for the fun of it.

Ruby: Boy, some people are, like, taking this Fishing Tourney soooo seriously...
If you’re just in it for fun though, why should that bother you?

Big Top seemed to be confused about what type of fish event it was! He asked if I would be entering the tuna salad eating contest!

Big Top: By the way, bud, are you gonna enter the Tuna Salad Eating Contest?

But honestly, I think that was just random dialogue. It’s just a coincidence that he said it during a fishing tournament. I did, however, catch a tuna of my own a few minutes later!

I caught a tuna! I only wish I'd caught it soona!

But I didn’t want to give it to Chip…and I didn’t want to eat it on a sandwich either. I decided to catch another fish to give to Chip, and it was a dab. However, it was only 23.5 inches long, while Monty had caught an 85.3 inch tuna!!

Chip: Monty caught an impressive 85.3-inch tuna. Yup!

Monty set the bar really high! With a fish that big, no sea bass had a chance of winning. And even my tuna might not top it…so I just went to the shop and sold my tuna instead. I don’t need another fishing trophy anyway. 😛

I saved and quit my game, but I returned later on. Chip confirmed that Monty was the eventual winner, and I got a “Good Sport Award” in the mail for being a loser. 😆

Results Announcement. The Good Sport Award for the Fishing Tourney on February 8th, 2025, goes to Jeff! Can't wait to see you compete again! -From Chip

Monty asked me to make a delivery to Nana…the other monkey in town. I agreed to help out, and the gift was a paw shirt. Is that the monkey’s paw? Uh-oh! 😛

Nana: Well, would you look at that! A paw shirt!

I wondered if this delivery would have some unintended consequences, but…not really. Monty just rewarded me with a kiddie wall. 😛

I then went over to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he tried to put me to sleep.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Lullaby.

Goodnight, everyone! 🌙

Marina Returns

Today, I found a house in the same spot where Roscoe lived (until last week). When I went inside, I was very pleased to find Marina the octopus! 🐙

Marina: Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I seem a little frazzles. My name is Marina.

I’ve always liked Marina. She has lived here before, of course. In fact, she moved into Forest in February of 2016 as well! Welcome back, Marina!

I ran into Big Top over by Able Sisters, and he said that the first of every month is going to be Hide-and-Seek Day!

Big Top: You know what I just decided? The 1st of every month is gonna be Hide-and-Seek Day!

Of course, he’s not going to stick to that schedule. But we did play today! He gave me ten minutes to find him, Punchy, and Ruby…and I found Ruby almost immediately. She was behind a coconut tree, between Marina’s new house and Scott’s house.

Ruby: Oh wow! You totally found me!

Three minutes later, I found Punchy behind a tree on the cliff, south of Able Sisters.

Punchy: Not to be a rat, but you have one of us left to find. So, hurry up and get to it.

And with four minutes remaining on the timer, I found Big Top near the museum. He gave me a mini alloid for winning the game, and he complimented me on my X-ray vision. 🩻

Big Top: We're no match for you and your X-ray vision, bud!

Right afterwards, I spoke with Ruby and she complained about the lack of events lately. She said it was “SOOOOO boring.” It was as if she didn’t know she just played a game of hide-and-seek. 😛

Later on, I played again to attend K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. He performed one of my favorites for me: “Two Days Ago.” 👍

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Two Days Ago.

I posted my latest ACCF video yesterday; check out City Folk Moments #24:

And last but not least, here are a few other quick notes about today’s session:

  • I shot down a balloon present that contained a brick block.
  • Felicity was sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine.
  • I obtained four gyroids today (including the one from Big Top), but none were ones that I needed for Brewster.
  • My buddy Butch was in the city, so I had a little chat with him. 🙂

In Sassy Shape

As expected, I received Roscoe’s goodbye letter in the mail today.

Jeff, Thanks for being here for me. I'm a better animal for knowing you. I'm leaving Forest behind, but I'll be thinking of you in my new home! -Your pal, Roscoe
Good luck in your new home, Roscoe!

I believe this now makes Antonio my longest-tenured villager; he’s lived in Forest since Festivale 2023. And speaking of Antonio, I also got a letter from him in the mail today. He is over his cold now, and he sent me a righty desk as thanks for the medicine I gave him.

Over by the museum, I ran into Big Top, who was out looking for bugs. He said the sunny weather is all he needs to be happy. Well, that and his bug net, some bug-attracting spray, and some berry crumble.

Big Top: A huh huh huh! I've got my net, a can of Bug-C'mere Spray, and some berry crumble!

When I visited Felicity, she said she needed a photo of herself with a fossil to include with her entry for the “Little Miss Paleontology” contest. She already had a fossil in her house, even though most of it was off-screen. But I took a photo for her anyway. 😛

Felicity: But I need a picture of me standing next to a fossil for my application packet.

But it turns out that she was just asking me to get (another) fossil for her. Luckily for her, I had just come from the museum, where Blathers identified a couple of fossils for me. So I gave her an ankylo skull, and in return, she gave me an arcade machine. I left and re-entered her house to see her new fossil, and I took another photo. Here you go, Felicity.

A photo of Felicity and her two fossils.

Back outside, Mint told me that she had her usual Saturday massage, this time with essences of pound cake and chocolate. She said she has to keep herself in sassy shape. 😆

Mint: If we don't keep ourselves in sassy shape, one day you'll wake up and see that your sass has passed!

At town hall, I found a pine table in the recycle bin. It wood make a fine gift for someone.

Two of my villagers asked for new things to say today. For Nana’s greeting, I told her to say “I’m a monkey.” And for Mint’s catchphrase, I asked her to say “it’s minty.”

Mint: So...it's minty. I'll get lots of attention with that. I'll use it, it's minty!

I noticed that my savings balance was approaching a new million milestone, so I went on a fruit run. I made 10+ trips gathering fruit, and I got my balance up to 66 million bells.

Your current balance is 66,000,000 bells.
