Viva Festivale

Today was Festivale, the holiday/festival with the flamboyant peacock named Pave. The object is to give Pave specific colors of candy (three pieces at a time) in exchange for Pave furniture.

To earn candy, you have to play games of chance with the villagers. But if you lose the games, the villagers will take candy from you (or 500 bells if you don’t have any candy). So you’ll definitely want to put your candy in letters, where it will be safe.

If you’re wearing a matching outfit/costume, each villager that is outdoors will give you one free piece of candy.

Del: Hey there, Mr. J! Now THAT is a nice little ensemble you got going there.I opened up my gate shortly after 9:00 and Yann came over to join in the festivities. To be honest, the games you play with villagers drag on too long. You don’t have good odds of winning most of them, either.

Rowan: Dig in your wallet! 'Cause I get 500 bells, jinglebell. One interesting note that is the northern lights were visible, just like Festivale last year.

The northern lights in the sky above Forest. The animals seemed to be giving me tons of yellow candy. So much that I ended up putting a lot of it in my house since my letters were overflowing with yellow candy.

Bob: All right, in a box! Let's gobble! Let's guzzle! Let's warble! Let's boogie! In all, I ended up getting 10 pieces of Pave furniture. Of course, I did have a head start, by using the candy I had saved from last year. The furniture I got was worth 109,800 bells, although I’m hanging on to some of them in case Yann gets some duplicates in her town that she wants to trade for later on.

Amelia: All right, here's that red candy I said I'd give you, no yolk.I closed my gate around 10:20. Although I appreciate the novelty of having a unique festival in Animal Crossing: City Folk, it’s really quite a pain. It takes quite a lot of work to accumulate the furniture pieces…especially when compared to the other big holidays in ACCF.

Hide and Fail

It’s Sunday, so I went to check the new emotions at the theater in the city. They didn’t have agreement or outrage, but they did have one Frillard emotion for a change: thought.

Clerk: What show would you like to see today?I went ahead and got it. It replaced my sighing (disappointment) emotion. While in the city, I saw the recently departed Egbert. I guess Del didn’t eat him after all.

Egbert: Those boys in Forest are coolar than a tub of frozen grape juice, doodle-duh!Back in Forest, I went around watering flowers. I ran into Rowan, who was talking about how he’d like to see my friend Yann again.

Rowan: Yeah, hanging out with her totally fired up my day, and I was hoping that she'd drop by here again soon!I also saw Bob, who wanted to play hide and seek. Bob, you’re not supposed to tell me where you’ll be hiding!

Bob: OK, here are the rules. We'll go hide somewhere in town. But we'll definitely be outside, in a box.I found Bob and Caroline fairly quickly, both hiding behind houses. But I couldn’t find Amelia, even after a couple trips around town. Time expired and I failed the game. A good while afterwards, I finally found Amelia as she was walking around. Amelia must be good at hiding, because it seems like she’s usually the last animal I find when asking around for old carpet/wallpaper for Saharah too.

Amelia: I mean, we waited...but you never found us, no yolk.I later saw Caroline again and she was talking about how she thinks Megan is a night owl.

Caroline: How well do you know that Megan girl that came through here the other day, big eyes?
Who are you calling big eyes?!

After I was done, I then awakened my Guest character from hibernation.

Guest, with bedhead, stands outside of his house.I had him get his candy out of storage so that I can use it tomorrow at Festivale. Unfortunately, I only had nine pieces. Well I would’ve had ten pieces, but somebody ate the piece of candy that I loaned her so that she could catch an ant! *cough*Yann*cough*

Full House

Fang moved out of Bananas today.

Jeff, I've made up my mind to move out of Bananas. This place is great, and I'm gonna be sad to leave it, but it's time to move on! Keep your ears clean, kid! -FangBack in Forest, I opened my gate at 10:00 for Friday Night Forest. Yann came over to visit, and there was a meteor shower going on.

Jeff: Oh yeah, it's meteor night. We also did a little fishing. I thought it was kind of funny how I was fishing from behind the windmill like this. But that’s probably just me. 😀

Jeff fishing in the ocean despite standing behind the windmill.A bit later, Megan came over to visit. After a couple of disconnections, Ryan also came over, so I had a full house. We went to check out Del’s house; it looks like Del’s been catching some big ones.

Some large fish, including tuna, in Del's house. We also hung out in my house. I was talking about the skeleton in my creepy room.

Jeff: I forgot to feed him.In Scott’s Gulliver room, we were all acting shocked by the Mouth of Truth. But it’s darn near impossible to get a picture showing everyone shocked at once.

Shocked by the Mouth of Truth! In the basement, we went through Scott’s obstacle course.

Four people on three beds in the obstacle course in Scott's basement. We did the Nook door glitch at 1:00 and Megan left shortly after. I ended up closing shop around 1:20. I had a good time tonight. I’m probably going to open up Forest again on Monday for Festivale.
