Tom, Tarantula, and Ness

Today, I went to the city to check the new emotions at the theater. They didn’t have anything I wanted. I did say hello to Tom in the plaza, though. I’ve had Tom in my GameCube town for many years, but I’ve never had him on City Folk.

Tom: There's no better way to show how glamorous a place is than some honkin' big neon signs!Back in Forest, I went around watering my flowers. As I crossed the bridge near the museum, I saw a tarantula. I backed up a few steps, pulled out my net, and slowly inched closer to it. I swung my net and caught him. That’s the first tarantula I’ve caught this year.

I caught a tarantula! I don't wanna arm-wrestle this guy!Later on, Bushido Ness contacted me, asking me to open my gate so he could retrieve his items.

Jeff: Welcome back, Ness.

The Return of Chris and the End of Bushido

Today I returned to Megan’s garden, and as I predicted, it’s mostly dead. Only one of the trees survived. I’m going to have to fire my gardener.

One living tree and seven dying saplings outside of Scott's house.Later on the in evening, Bushido contacted me. He wanted me to store some of his items for him while he restarts his town. He’s not going to be a samurai anymore, he’s going to recreate his Earthbound-themed town of Onett.  So he’s going to be Ness again, which made tonight the last time I’ll see him as Bushido. R.I.P. Bushido aka Bushy Dough aka Bushy Brow (2010-2012).

Jeff: R.I.P. Bushido. Before Bushido came in my town, he also had trouble connecting. I changed my router settings and then he was able to enter. Later on, I also had Chris (who had trouble connecting to my town last night) come over to see if he could enter. It worked for him as well. So hopefully the problem is fixed now.

Chris hadn’t been to my town in a very long time, so he checked out my house.

Chris hanging out in my creepy/mad scientist lab room.We also watched K.K. perform a few songs.

Chris stands to admire K.K. during a musical performance at the Roost.Yann then came over for a visit. We merged while holding onto the coffee-drinker’s chair, but Chris didn’t seem all that impressed.

Yann, merged with Jeff: hehehe.Chris wanted to do the museum glitch. After a couple minutes of trying, we got him stuck down there. For some reason, he turned into Miss Piggy.

Jeff: The Miss Piggy exhibit. He checked out Guest’s house, where I accidentally killed the last roach.

All the cockroaches are gone! Now everything is ALL BETTER!We caught some fish and bugs, but then I closed the gate just after midnight.

Crazy Fun

Today, Victoria asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek. She gave me ten minutes to find her, Avery, and Mint.

Victoria: Ahem, ahem! And now we shall begin the playing of hide-and-seek!I found Victoria and Avery hiding behind trees.

Avery: Aww, nuts! You found me already, skree-haw?! Maybe I should wear less aftershave...Mint had a better hiding spot: Behind the bulletin board. Good thing she peeked around the corner or I might still be looking for her.

Mint peeks out from behind the bulletin board during a game of hide-and-seek.I found them all in time, and Victoria gave me a cabin armchair as my reward.

Victoria: ...Oh, well! It was still fun! Here's a cabin armchair for your trouble and stuff, for a dime.I went into Nook’s to sell some things (including that cabin armchair), and when I came out, a tarantula ambushed me! He was just waiting for me and pounced before I could do anything.

Me passed out on the ground near the shop.Later on, I opened my gate at 10:00. Megan and Patty came over. Patty had not been to my town in a long time. Megan bought a bandage from the Able Sisters, and I tried it on as I told them about how I was viciously attacked earlier.

Jeff, wearing a bandage: Spider-man did this.Patty was fishing and Megan started typing GO GO GO. But for Megan’s poor abused keyboard, this was only the beginning of a tough night.

Megan: GOOG. Jeff: Here goes MegSpammer.Patty ended up leaving around 11:00. Megan accidentally “ate” (picked up) some path tiles. I asked her what they tasted like, expecting her to say cinnamon since that’s the flavor we had previously said they taste like. But she said they tasted like dirt and shoes.

Jeff: Y U EAT DIRT & SHOES?We were catching bugs and fish, of course…but we were also acting a little crazy.

Megan: PUPU. Jeff: U PP, I PUPU.Nook had a tiki torch burning in his store, which I interpreted as Del trying to burn down Nook’s store because he was jealous of Yann and Nook’s baby teddy bear/Nooklet. (I don’t expect that to make sense to many of you, but it’s based on a chain of inside jokes we have, haha).

I tried voting Megan off of Survivor so Jeff Probst the host would put out her fire, but that didn’t work. So I ate the fire (by buying the torch) and then demanded some heartburn medicine from Nook for saving his store.

Jeff: GIVE ME MEDS!!!!!!!I had three people message me saying that they were trying to get into my town but couldn’t. Chris, Olivia, and Ben all said they were getting error messages when they tried to come in. I was willing to try some things to see what the problem is in case it was my connection or Megan’s connection, but they apparently weren’t online any more. So after a brief break, Megan and I just continued playing.

Megan mentioned that she needed saplings for her town, and I let her know that she could create trees by just burying 100 bell bags. I made a sample one to show her.

Jeff, swinging his net: omg 100 bells!Once 1:00 rolled around, we went into Nook’s before he closed shop for the night. I sold my bugs and I ended up with over 188,000 bells tonight. That doesn’t include the additional bugs I caught later on.

Jeff: I made 188k tonight. We did the Nook door glitch and I was stuck in the door for a bit, even though my smile seemed to protrude through the glass. To my surprise, Megan didn’t hold me hostage for too long. After catching some more bugs and fish, we posed with some of our best catches.

Jeff and Megan posing with their catches.Megan dropped 100 bells at one point and I swiped it and buried it to make another tree. I tried to do it again, but she kept filling in my hole before I could bury the coins. So I psyched her out by going inside Scott’s house, running upstairs, then running back outside. That bought me the time I needed to plant the tree.

Jeff: YESSSSSS IT WORKEDThen Megan decided to be my gardener and plant a bunch more trees on the beach there. Of course they’re going to be mostly dead by tomorrow, but oh well.

Jeff: Meggarden no grow.“Crazy” doesn’t begin to describe the conversations and keyboard mashing sessions we had tonight (Spidersib?). 😀 But it was a whole lot of fun. At 2:00, I closed my gate for the night.
