Bug-Hunting Party

Tonight I opened my gate at 9:30 for a bug-hunting party. Yann and Megan came over. We were mostly just catching bugs, but when I saw a shark in the water, of course I couldn’t resist!

I caught a shark! Check out that toothy grin!Of the beetles on trees, I was ignoring the fruit beetles, which aren’t worth much. But I believe all the other tree bugs are worth at least 1,000 bells each, and some are worth up to 12,000 bells. So it’s a lot of fun filling up your pockets.

My pockets full of valuable bugs (and a shark).Just before 11:00, we went into the Able Sisters shop. We wanted to see if the Nook glitch would also work there. But just as we were about to try it, Megan and Yann accidentally did the other glitch, where someone gets stuck behind Sable.

Megan and Yann stuck behind Sable in Able Sisters. We kept trying to free everybody. But when we did, someone else would get stuck. And we were experiencing some severe lag, which made it difficult to do it correctly. So while Megan was stuck, Yann and I tried the door glitch. I went outside and she tried to come out while I was reading the shop closed sign. Even though she was unable to exit the store, she could not see herself in the doorway like you could with the Nook glitch. Too bad.

Anyway, I then ended the party to set Megan free and I then reopened my gate. As Megan tried to re-enter, Egbert told me he wanted to move out of Forest.

Egbert: Y'know, bud, I've been thinking of moving out of Forest.I asked him to stay, but he wouldn’t commit to staying. I’ll have to keep talking to him in the coming days to change his mind. Anyway, Megan and Yann came back and we did some more bug-hunting. By the time I was done, I had racked up 234,550 bells on the night. (I had emptied my wallet before I started specifically so I could see how much I earned tonight).

234,550 bells in my pockets in Nook 'n' Go.Somehow, I got in trouble with Megan for saying I wouldn’t make fun of her fashion sense. 😀

Megan: U make fun of fashion. Jeff: Y U WEAR DIRT & FLANNELIt was a fun night in Forest. We’ll have to do this again sometime. Catching bugs on summer nights is one of my favorite things to do in this game, and it’s also the best time of year to make a lot of money. Yann did some bug-hunting at her own town before coming over, and she said made a total of a million bells for the day.

Creepy Skeleton DLC

Pete was outside my door today with a letter from Nintendo. It’s July now, and that means new DLC. The item this time is a creepy skeleton.

Dear Jeff, This pile of bones is sure to tickle your funny bone! What haunted display would be complete without it? -NintendoMaybe it’s just me, but I think it looks kind of dumb. It looks more like a dog skeleton lying on the floor. I think I’d prefer a vertical (standing) skeleton instead. Of course they already have one of those in the game. Anyway, here’s a look at the creepy skeleton.

The creepy skeleton DLC as seen in my house. In my mailbox was a letter from the Bank of Nintendo. I earned 58,600 bells of interest this month.

Dear Jeff, We appreciate your business and hope that you are satisfied with our service. You have earned 58,600 bells in interest. -BANK OF NINTENDOOn the bulletin board, I got some bad news.

~Weather Forecast~ Looks like the rainy season is about to wrap up! Once it's over, it's gonna get HOT!The rainy season is about to wrap up, it says. But I’m not sure when exactly that means. Mid-month? Or has it already ended? I know it wasn’t raining in Forest today, but I’m hoping the rainy season sticks around a little longer. I hate watering flowers.

Anyway, I went to the city to check for new emotions. Nothing I was interested in.

Clerk: What show would you like to see today? But I saw Goose in the city and I said hello.

Goose: That bus ride is harder on your glutes than a burnout set of squat thrusts, buh-kay!The beginning of July means there are lots of new bugs (well, and fish too). To celebrate, I’m going to have a late-night bug-catching party tonight in my town. So check back late tonight for another blog entry.

Friday Night Forest

Tonight, I opened my gate at 10:00 for Friday Night Forest. Yann, Phoebe, and Megan quickly filled up my town. We went in the Able Sisters, and Megan tried on a geisha wig.

Jeff: Spaghetti head.I showed them my newest emotion, distress, which I got on Monday. I said it looked like I was doing the pee-pee dance.

Jeff: The pee pee dance.Phoebe was acting like she worked there, so Megan called her Phable. The name stuck. After we left, Phable was still inside, so I buried a pitfall seed. Once she came out, she fell for it.

Phoebe in a pitfall just outside of Able Sisters. We went to Nook’s, and even though Phoebe didn’t pretend to work there, I started calling her Phook. She seemed to not be paying much attention. I think she was distracted by penguin feet.

Jeff: WAKE THE PHOOK UP!We caught some bugs, including goliath beetles. Here we are, posing as with The Beetles.

Jeff, Megan, Yann, and Phoebe holding up goliath beetles. But then we got disconnected and lost our beetles. I reopened my gate and the same three visitors came back. At one point in my house, Megan and Phoebe were spamming lots of keyboard text in time with the music playing in my house. Megan later declared it Spam Night.

TONIGHT IS SPAM NIGHT HASDJHJKHFJKDASHFJKS HAJFKHASJKFHJKSDLFHG DFJKSGHSDFJKGLHKAJSG HDFJJSKAVSHCKLHVJKSD SFDHAJGKHASDKGHLGHS;Shortly before Nook closed his store, we did the door glitch again.

Jeff: See you on the other side.I later caught a coelacanth and here I posed with the sharks caught by Phoebe and Megan. Yann provided a nice silk hat for me.

Jeff holds up a coelacanth as Yann holds up an oak silk moth directly behind him. Megan and Phoebe, to Jeff's sides, hold up sharks.Nature called and led us into Scott’s house. It was both the #1 and #2 spots in town tonight.

Yann: I have diarrhea. :PEveryone posted on my bulletin board. Megan quoted some Rhythm Heaven Fever.

ONE TWO THREE, IT'S UP TO YOU! ONE TWO THREE, O.K., IT'S ON! LET'S GO READ A BUNCHA BOOKS!Phoebe eventually left for the night, and I closed my gate a short while after that. It was a fun night.
