Oh, Bother

Today, Kaitlin was in town. She is the (unfit) mother cat who always loses her daughter Katie. This time, Katie was in Tropical, which is Yann’s town.

Kaitlin: Oh, bother. My daughter has run off again, that naughty kitten...I ran into Rowan, and he asked me about Skye. I believe that means Skye must have recently played her game. A few days ago, an animal mentioned Chris for the first time in a long time…then soon after, I heard from Chris telling me he recently played. So the animals seem to know when players are active.

Rowan: Hey, how's that Skye kid holding up? You know, the one who rolled by the other day?I got a very nice letter in the mail from my friend Olivia. She sent me an “awesome” A shirt, so I put in on. 🙂

Me wearing an A shirt.Victoria asked me for some playful furniture. Normally I would have ignored her request, because I generally don’t want to bother looking up what qualifies as playful (or whatever adjective they choose each time).

However, I had already seen a kiddie couch in Nook’s store, and I figured the kiddie set is about as playful as furniture gets. So I went and bought it for her, and she was happy with that. She gave me a kitchen wall as a reward. I wish the rewards they gave were better, so that helping animals out would actually be worthwhile. Oh well.

Victoria: Yaaaay, J-rock! You're gonna make me all swoony!Later, Yann agreed to bring Katie over so that we’d be rid of the cats. I hate these cats so much, so I’m glad I don’t have to deal with them for the rest of the week at least. After that, I ended my game for the night.

Jeff: Thanks, Yann. :)

Night at the Museum

Note: This blog entry is listed as a Sunday post, but it describes the events of Saturday night. The majority of it did take place after midnight though, making it technically Sunday anyway. Sorry for any confusion.

I opened my gate for Yann and Megan shortly before midnight. Yann was a bit late, so she didn’t get to see K.K.’s performance of My Place.

Jeff and Megan enjoy K.K.'s musical performance at the Roost.Yann arrived as soon as the clock struck midnight, and K.K. vanished.

I had new mail in my mailbox; it was about the bug-off competition earlier.

The results are in! The winner of the June 16th, 2012, Bug-Off was Jeff's amazing 94-point oak silk moth! Kudos! -The Bug-Off CommissionMy reward was a bug trophy.

My bug trophy.Megan was wearing a grandpa hat and glasses, which I thought made her look like Clark Kent or another reporter for the Daily Planet.

Yann: He's our narrator. Jeff: for the Daily Planet. We then did a cool glitch that we accidentally stumbled on last night. It looks like I’m trapped in Nook’s.

I appear stuck inside of Nook's closed store, because Megan's not letting me out.I began the transformation of my upstairs room from a lab into a cemetery. I used the three creepy bat stones I got from my three characters.

Jeff: RIP Abe, Nat, and Yoshi. At one point, Megan left briefly, and I went to grab some hats out of storage. When she came back, I was wearing my pumpkin head.

Jeff, wearing a pumpkin head, standing near Yann and Megan.I then did something else funny involving Blathers and a hot dog hat. Look for it in a future Wi-Fi Moments video.

Jeff, wearing a hot dog hat, stands behind Blathers. Yann and Megan stand at Blathers' wings.Yann was away for a little bit, so somehow, she ended up in a pitfall. Don’t ask me how. 😉

Yann falls into a pitfall near the museum.I was ready to call it a night, but I thought I’d show them the museum glitch real quick before I ended the party, so we did it.

Jeff, in a dark area below the museum floor: Do you see me down here?Megan and I ended up stuck in the wall. Yann then said she was tired and was going to go. But it turned out she just wanted to be the one who fell below the floor. So I ended the party, saved/quit (I couldn’t walk back to the gate because I was stuck in the floor), restarted, and reopened my gate. We had a lot of trouble getting her in, but we eventually got her stuck in the wall as well. After that, I wrapped it up for the night.

Update: Here is the video of me trapped in Nook’s:

Creepy Bat Stone DLC and Bug-Off!

Pete greeted me outside my door today.

Pete: You have a letter from Nintendo! He had butter a letter from Nintendo for me.

Dear Jeff, The creepy bat stone is one of a set of two. Collect the creepy stone in a few weeks and display the pair to give your room that graveyard charm! It was the next item in the creepy set, the creepy bat stone.

The creepy bat stone DLC item.I think my lab room isn’t going to be around much longer. I may start turning it into a cemetery.  The next DLC item will be the creepy skeleton, which will be released on July 1st.

But for now, I went back outside; the Bug-Off competition was taking place. Since I was unable to sell all my bugs last night, I still had some rare bugs in my pockets. I gave Nat an oak silk moth.

Nat: Sweet buttery monarchy! However did you manage to find an oak silk moth? It's RARER than rare! That gave me the lead in the competition. The tournament was set to end at 6:00, which was only a few minutes away, so I just waited it out to see if I’d win. I still had a goliath beetle and a rainbow stag in my pocket in case someone else took the lead in the final minutes. But fortunately, that didn’t happen, and my oak silk moth won!

Nat: A 94-point oak silk moth. By the king's crown! It seems that YOU caught this one!Nat said he would mail my prize to me.

I went into the Able Sisters and tried on a frog cap. It’s Jeff the Frog!

Trying on a frog cap at Able Sisters.I walked around town, and Anabelle asked me to make a delivery to Del. So I took it to him, and the gift turned out to be a Persian rug.

Del: Way to schlep. It's not easy playing pack mule for Anabelle, unlike you!I returned to Anabelle and she thanked me by giving me a modern tile.

Anabelle: Check it out! It's some modern tile! Yep! All yours, nasal drip! After that, I was done playing…for now. But that’s not all for today. Check back tonight (late, late, late tonight) for another blog entry.
