Marcel Moves In

Now that April is here, some of the trees have pink leaves for cherry blossom season.

Two trees with cherry blossom petals near the town fountain.

I was disappointed to find a new house that landed on my path in the western part of town. I was even more disappointed to see that it was Marcel who moved in.

Marcel's house

I was playing unusually late, so I didn’t get to meet him yet. I also missed out on K.K. Slider and the ability to shop because of the late hour. Everyone else other than Marcel was still awake, though.

Gwen was suffering with a cold (and the chills), and I could completely relate because that’s how I’ve been feeling today as well. I gave her some medicine. Get well soon!

Gwen: Uhhhh... So cold... I have the WORST chills...

Maelle asked me to make a delivery to Stitches, and I agreed to help out. The gift was a circus shirt, which doesn’t sound very flattering. But actually, it’s orange and it matched Stitches quite well.

Stitches: Is this a circus shirt? Huh. I guess I should make the most of it, though, and give it a try, stuffin'!

Maelle thanked me by giving me a stone tile.

See you all next time!

Unlucky Letter

On Thursday night, Goldie insulted me. She said that the best thing about coming to live in Forest was that she got to meet Curt! CURT!

Goldie: I think maybe the best thing about coming to live here is that I got to meet Curt!
Him?

I found Pudge all packed up to move out of town. Pudge is a nice guy, but honestly, he didn’t grow on me very much in his short stay in Forest.

Pudge: Sigh... Well, at least I got a chance to see you before I took off.

He was still in town yesterday, but he was gone by today. I received his goodbye letter in the mail. Take care, Pudge!

Dear Jeff, Moving day is here, and I feel weird! Half of me is excited to go to my new town, but the other half is sad 'cause I gotta leave. I hope we meet again! -Pudge

Curt approached me, wanting to play a wilderness-survival game. He really meant hide-and-seek, and I agreed to play. Curt was just so sure that he was going to win.

Curt: Heh. It's cute that you're so enthusiastic before you lose to me. Savor your innocence, kid.

He gave me 15 minutes to find him, Goldie, and Stitches. With that much time, I wasn’t in a rush and I still went on with my normal duties. After about five minutes, I found Goldie hiding behind my house. A minute after that, I found Curt hiding behind a tree near the fountain. And with just three and a half minutes remaining, I found Stitches behind Scott’s house.

Stitches peeks out from behind Scott's house.

Curt rewarded me with a dirt-clod wall for winning the game. Such a fancy prize. 😛

After that, I headed over to the Roost for the Saturday night concert. K.K. Slider performed Neapolitan for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Neapolitan.

While I was looking at my letters, I was surprised to see a blue (unsent) letter. My curiosity turned to sadness when I realized it was a letter I wrote to Lucky…who has since moved out. I was sending him a mummy shirt.

Lucky, Hi friend. Wear this to look like your mummy. -From Jeff

I remembered being a bit disappointed that he never put the shirt on or wrote me back…and now I know why. Oops. As you can tell, I don’t always pay a lot of attention to my mail slots. I usually check the new mail and just ignore the others. Sorry, Lucky!

Hide-and-Beak

I started off my day with a trip to Shampoodle. I dyed my hair green, and put on my club shirt and mohawk wig, to make my annual transformation into Mohawk McClover.

Back in town, Maelle told me someone canceled on her, and she asked if I would “go with her.” She was being purposely vague.

Maelle: Sorry for the short notice, but would you go with me?

I knew that meant she wanted to play hide-and-seek, so I agreed. But it is kinda funny how they try to trick you into playing. 😛 Anyway, she gave me a full 15 minutes to find her, Gwen, and Queenie. They’re all birds! Maybe she should’ve called it Hide-and-Beak.

Maelle: The time limit is 15 minutes! To win, you have to find all 3 of us in that time.

It took me about two minutes to find Gwen hiding behind a tree. Another two minutes after that, I found Maelle hiding behind an empty house. There were still 11 minutes on the timer, but she felt the need to insult me for taking so long. 🙄

Maelle: Wow, I had no idea that I'd have to wait so long here. Hurry, duckling!

One minute after that (with ten minutes still on the timer), I found Queenie hiding behind Maelle’s house. I easily won the game, and Maelle gave me a weight bench as my prize.

Maelle: It's a weight bench, and it's all yours, duckling!

When I visited Gaston, he basically said that he didn’t believe I really caught every type of fish. He said I must have bribed a river spirit with some mud.

Gaston: Ah...a river spirit! So all I need to do is find enough mud to bribe a river! Thanks for the advice!
Listen here, mustache…

Stitches asked me to make a delivery to Gaston, and I agreed to help out. The item was a birdhouse, and Stitches ultimately rewarded me with an automatic washer. He also said he was like a jelly donut, but filled with gratitude instead of jelly. Well, he’s stuffed with something alright, but I don’t think it’s gratitude. 😀

Stitches: I'm like a jelly doughnut, except instead of jelly, I'm filled with gratitude!
