A Town Without a Chief

Yet again, it was raining in Forest tonight. I know it’s the rainy season, but still, this is hard to believe. The rainy season wasn’t this rainy last year!

After checking for new black roses (there were none), it occurred to me that nobody has mentioned leaving town lately. So I decided to check up on everyone. I went into Ruby’s house. She’s not moving, but her house is odd. I mean, if we’re on the lunar surface, how can there be a moon on the moon?

A moon on display in Ruby's house, sitting on the lunar surface flooring.I continued stopping in animals’ houses, until I went into Chief’s house. My fears came true. Chief has packed up his belongings and he’s ready to move out.

Chief: Hey, dude! ...I guess you caught me in the act, didn't you? Ah, well...Chief: I've got everything packed, but it's going to be kinda lonely leaving this place behind...little pig.One month ago, my 2nd favorite villager at the time (Antonio) unexpectedly packed up and left. Chief then became my second favorite villager. And now once again, my 2nd favorite villager is packing up and leaving.

Why can’t it be an animal I don’t talk to…like Curly? I’ve been waiting for that dumb pig to move out ever since his house landed on my path. So the “big bad wolf” is leaving empty handed, while the annoying little pig with the immovable house is the one sticking around.

Bob Wears My Clothes to Bed

The rain has returned to Forest, so there was no need to water my flowers today. While talking to Bob, he asked me for my clothes! I didn’t want to give him the shirt off my back, so I went to Able Sisters. There, I bought a blue check shirt for him. I didn’t know if it had to be a shirt I had actually worn, but I briefly put it on and took it back off just to be sure.

I returned to Bob and gave him the shirt. He was happy with it and gave me a ukulele as a reward. He even said he’s going to wear the shirt to bed tonight!

Bob: Uh huh huh huh huh huh! I'm gonna wear this to bed tonight for sweet dreams! Also, today was a blown opportunity. I heard the UFO! I had my slingshot out, but I didn’t see the UFO, so I couldn’t shoot it down. It must have been on the lowest of the three paths (the top of the 4th row of acres) and I couldn’t find it in time.

I may need to consider changing my strategy when it comes to UFO hunting. The lowest path has the least horizontal running space for me, because of the river to the west and the ramp to the east. Maybe I should start waiting at the southernmost path and then run north when the time comes. I guess I’m out of luck for the rest of the week now.

Dry County

Shocking as it may be, it was not raining in Forest tonight. It was flea market day (I started to type flea collar for some reason, haha), but I didn’t participate. I deposited some money in the bank, and I noticed that my balance surpassed six million bells.

Your current balance is 6,067,559 bells.I checked around town, talking to the animals I saw along the way. Bob’s catchphrase continues to amuse me.

Bob: But since you can't glug something you don't have, I guess I'll just have to go thirsty, daddy.

I found two new black roses tonight, and I also caught a rainbow stag on a tree. Later on, Francine offered to buy the rainbow stag for 14,103 bells. It’s a deal!

Francine: Hmmm... Would you sell it for 14,103 bells?
