Scott’s Bigger Abode; Big Bells for Bugs; Bogus Bartering Bids

Again, it was raining in Forest tonight. I love the rainy season. Tom Nook has upgraded Scott’s house, and it now has an upstairs.

Scott stands outside of his house, now with a second floor (in ACCF).I was noticing quite a few rare bugs in the rain, so I decided to go back and forth along the beach, catching bugs and fish for a while. I caught a number of oak silk moths, goliath beetles, rainbow stags, and a hammerhead shark. It was an easy 100k or so.

Catching rare bugs in summer is one of my favorite things to do. I may have to open my gate more often in summer to have some bug-catching nights. And of course August has the fireworks festivals. Those are always fun.

But anyway, the animals in my town kept trying to trade for my rare bugs. One offer was acceptable (~10,500 bells for a rainbow stag), but I turned down the rest. Rosie wanted my goliath beetle in exchange for a blue-trim wall. Uh….no.

Curly: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up a sec. Tell me that's a rainbow stag in your pocket!Fishing a hammerhead shark out of the ocean in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) for Nintendo Wii.Rosie: Huh? What do I want? Oh, I dunno... I want your goliath beetle!

Woke Up to the Sound of Pouring Rain

As I started my game, I noticed the rain was pouring down in Forest. Chief may not have enjoyed that fact, but I did.

Chief: Oh, give me a break... Grrr. Look at this weather! Nothing puts me in a bad mood like a rainstorm!I made my rounds around town, and I noticed a big shadow in the river. That is always a good thing in City Folk, so I whipped out my fishing rod and caught it. A giant snakehead.

I caught a giant snakehead! No puny snakeheads for me!

Later on, I also saw a flea jumping around on Bob. So I did him a favor and caught that also.

I caught a flea! Itchy itchy!I went into Del’s house to say hello and he asked me to find some retro furniture for him. I wasn’t sure exactly what qualified as retro furniture, so I did a quick Google search and found a list. The cabana series was one thing on that list, and Nook happened to be selling a cabana lamp today. I bought it and took it to Del. He thanked me and gave me a Persian wall as a reward.

Del: Finally, I won't have to live without cabana lamp things any longer! One new black rose appeared today, and several red roses, so that was good news. I dropped off some money for Scott and then switched characters.

I had Scott put some more hybrids in storage…his storage is almost completely full of hybrids now. Not to mention Guest’s storage is mostly hybrids too (except for a couple pages worth of candy), so I’m probably hoarding more hybrids than I will ever need.

If anyone that is currently on my friend roster wants some hybrids (excluding black/blue/gold roses), let me know what you want. I then had Scott use the money to pay off his house. Tom Nook said I’ll be getting a new floor tomorrow. I’m not sure how I’ll decorate it just yet, although I have some ideas in mind.

No more debt for me! My house is all paid off!Tom Nook: Now, the construction should be completed by tomorrow, so get ready to be impressed! Oh, yes!

To Hyrule I Go

It was raining as the bus arrived in the city today, so my flowers should be good and no watering was necessary. I walked around town to check for new flowers. About 3 red roses popped up, which is good because I needed them to start replacing the ones that were lost. A black rose and a blue rose also popped up.

Later on, in the evening, I went to TZ’s town Hyrule. It had been a while since I had been there, so she showed me around and I talked to a number of her animals.

Kid Cat: So, hey, you live in Forest, right?A lion villager with three beach chairs in his house. After 20 minutes or so, it seemed the other people she invited weren’t showing up. She had a fruit eating contest prepared for four people, but she decided to go on and do it with just the two of us. I asked if we had to eat just one at a time, and she said yes.

A fruit eating contest.

So she says go and starts picking up a bunch of them before eating. I guess she misunderstood my question. Anyway, my pockets weren’t empty, so I ended up picking up about nine before I got the pockets full warning and had to drop one. Needless to say, I lost the contest.

Once we finished, her friend Max showed up. TZ decided we would play musical chair. I don’t believe I’ve played musical chair(s) in ACCF before, although I hosted a game of it once. Well technically that was musical toilets, but same thing. 😛

About to play a game of musical chairs...or chair.TZ said the one left without a chair is out (of the game, presumably). I ended up winning… only to find out that that was only the first round. So I figured it was probably best 2-out-of-3. We did a second round and Max won. It was tied, 1-1, so clearly a tiebreaker was in order. I won the third round.

But it wasn’t over. TZ did another round. And another. Despite my early 2-1 lead, I lost a bunch in a row and ended up losing badly overall. I was getting tired of the game and I was badly defeated. Yet still another round after another. I guess I just prefer when the rules are known ahead of time.

After that was finally over, Max asked TZ to play some Super Smash Bros. Brawl with him. She agreed, but suggested we play some sumo first, so we did a few rounds of that. And TZ wanted to use up her stash of pitfall seeds, so we buried what was left and started falling into them.

Playing a game of sumo.Jeff and TZ in pitfalls.Max kept pushing for TZ to play SSBB with him. And then another visitor, Michelle, came into town. Max seemed annoyed that yet another person was keeping him from playing Brawl. After briefly saying our hellos to Michelle, the game abruptly disconnected. You can draw your own conclusions on that one. I sure did.
