Dressing the Queen

Last night, Queenie asked me for a green tie-dye shirt. I just had to take a screenshot because of the look on her face. 😛

Queenie: Aha, Jeff! Just the person I needed!

I didn’t have that shirt, but I ordered one from my catalog in case I played again today (which I did). But more on that later.

Pascal was in town last night, and he said that only runners can see the faces of other runners. I guess he means that the runners are going too fast for bystanders to see their faces? I kinda get what he means, but it’s not quite true…unless the runners are running at the speed of light. 🏃

Pascal: Only runners can see the faces of other runners, maaaan. Ouch! My braaain!
His eyes looked a bit frightening as well.

I gave him a scallop before he plunged into Forest River, and he gave me a ship compass in return.

I later listened in on a conversation between Rasher and Gwen. Gwen said that she never does laundry because she just buys new clothes whenever her clothes get dirty. Wow, she must be rich to be able to do that! Hmm, is her last name Stefani? 🤔

Rasher: Gwen, are you really telling me that you never do laundry at all? Ever? Woof woof?

I played again today (Saturday), and the green tie-dye came in the mail. I took it over to Queenie, and she put it on, and then thanked me by giving me some checkered tile.

Queenie: What?! This is the clothing I asked for! You came through for me!

At the Roost, I asked K.K. for a random song, and he played K.K. Calypso for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Calypso.

I ran down the dead end (in the eastern part of town) and found Tom. He pinged me and told me he was thinking about moving out of town! I told him not to go, and he immediately agreed to stay.

Tom: Well, I guess I don't wanna be hasty before I just run off to a strange town...

I was glad he gave a definitive answer instead of being vague. But I think I’m lucky I spotted him there, because I don’t always go walking down that dead end. It’s pretty rare to find a villager there!

See you all next time! Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

Forest’s New Queen

Lucky was sick with a cold today, so I gave him some medicine. Hopefully he’ll start feeling better soon. Maybe his mummy could make him some chicken noodle soup. 😛

Lucky takes his medicine.

Rasher asked me to make a delivery to Goldie, so I took over the folk tunic. To my surprise, Goldie hated it so much that she called it a dreadful gift and even suggested burning it! 😮

Goldie: What am I going to do with this dreadful thing? Maybe I should burn it, so that no one else has to see it.

That’s about the strongest reaction to a gift I’ve ever seen. Rasher gave me some kitschy tile for making the delivery, but he was angry about Goldie’s reaction too.

Rasher: You better believe we are going to sit down and have a chat. Grrrr. Woof woof!
Maybe you should leave town. That will show her!

K.K. Slider was at the Roost for his Saturday night performance, and he played Soulful K.K. (aka “Lean on Me”) for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Soulful K.K..

There was a new house across the street from Portia’s old house. Inside, I found Portia’s replacement, Queenie!

Queenie: Well, the rumors are true! I am the newly arrived Queenie that the whole town is talking about!

Even though I’ve had her in my GameCube town a couple times in the past, I don’t know her very well. Ostriches aren’t exactly my favorite animals, and snooties definitely aren’t my favorite personality, so she may not have a whole lot going for her. But I’ll try to give her a fair chance. Welcome to Forest, Queenie.

After selling some fruit, I earned enough money to kick my bank account balance up to 45 million bells.

Your current balance is 45,000,000 bells.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! I’ll see you all next time. 🙂

On Monday, I found out that Portia is moving out of town. She didn’t give me any advance notice, or I would have tried to stop her.

Portia: I'm moving out soon! I'm just too special to stay in one town for very long.

In the city, I ran into Stitches the teddy bear. He said he was thinking about getting a haircut because he’s “shaggier than a shredded laptop.” I literally have no idea what that means.

Stitches: I was thinking about getting a haircut today 'cause I'm shaggier than a shredded laptop!

I played again today, and I received Portia’s goodbye letter in the mail.

Dear Jeff, The day has come for me to leave Forest. Thank you for making life here SO wonderful. I'll always remember you! -From: Portia

Forest now has only three dogs remaining. But fortunately, they are three of my favorite dogs: Goldie, Bones, and Lucky.

Another possible point of interest is that Bob’s original house plot is now free once again. If he wants to come back and reclaim his spot, I would be more than happy with that. Believe it or not, it has been seven and a half years since Bob left…so it’s not completely impossible to think he could return at some point. 😛

As for my current favorite villager, Goldie asked me to make a delivery to Gwen tonight. I took the grass shirt to the snooty penguin, and Goldie later rewarded me with a mop.

Goldie: Um, I can give you a mop.

As far as I can tell, its name is not Moppina. 😛

In the city tonight, I ran into this shady character named Rizzo. 😉

Rizzo: I was planning to stop by Redd's shop while I was here, but now I'm not so sure I should go.

He just moved out of my New Horizons town on Wednesday, so now I guess I know where he went. 😛
