Grandma This, Grandma That

I received Astrid’s goodbye letter in the mail today. If I ever get Kitty in any of my towns, I’ll be sure to call for your help again, Astrid. 😉

To: Jeff, I wonder where I'll be when you get this letter? Well, I know I won't be in Forest, because I've moved away. Thanks for everything. And take care! -Astrid

Rasher was sick with a cold. And he was so out of it, that he thought I was his grandmother!

Rasher: COUGH, HACK, WHEEEZE! Ugh...Grandma, is that... you? No...? Oh...nice of you to visit, woof woof.

Somehow I doubt his grandmother wears a green mohawk. But I decided to be nice to him anyway, and I bought some medicine for him at the shop. Get well soon, Rasher! I don’t want you spreading your sickness to the good animals in town. 😛

K.K. Slider was in town, and he performed Two Days Ago. It’s one of my favorite K.K. songs, but I just heard Two Days Ago three weeks ago (in New Horizons). 😛

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Two Days Ago.

Maelle asked me to make a delivery to Wolfgang, and I agreed to help out. Wolfgang wasn’t home, and it took me a little while to track him down. And once I did, the wait was not worth it. The gift was a bunny shirt, and Wolfgang hated it!

Wolfgang: Oh, Maelle...I hate to be a jerk, but my grandma knits trendier stuff...
Why is everyone mentioning their grandma tonight? 😛

When I returned to Maelle and told her the news, she rewarded me with a mod wall. I felt a bit like Wolfgang did. 😉

Death of a Star

Wolfgang told me he was looking for a certain lucky bug tonight, and he said he’s heard that people call it a spider…as if I would be unfamiliar with the term “spider.” 😛 🕷️

Wolfgang: I hear people call it a spider... Rumor has it that it's good luck to have one.

When I visited Astrid, I was a bit surprised to see that she was all packed up and ready to move out of town. While she wasn’t exactly my favorite villager, I actually will miss her. I greatly appreciated her help in getting rid of Kitty.

Astrid: I'm moving out soon! I'm just too special to stay in one town for very long.
Thank you for your service. You’re a star.

I started shaking trees to look for that spider for Wolfgang, but I first found a bee instead. One of them stung me without me ever seeing it (because it was hidden behind a house). My villagers certainly noticed my deformed face.

Bones: Yikes!

I went down to the Roost to check out the Saturday night musical performance from K.K. Slider. He played DJ K.K. for me; it’s a good song.

Jeff and his swollen face listen to K.K. Slider perform.

After taking some medicine and shaking more trees, I eventually found the spider I was looking for.

I caught a spider! Look at all those eyes!
Look at my eyes! I have two of them again!

I took the spider over to Wolfgang, and he told me I deserved a medal. But he just gave me a pear dresser. That’s alright. I’ll take it. 🍐

Coffee Cat

I went to Shampoodle today, and made my annual transformation into Mohawk McClover. Harriet even hired me to work behind the counter (just kidding). 😛

Mohawk McClover pretends to work at Shampoodle.

Portia was still sick. I hope she didn’t have chicken pox, because she was covered in spots! 😉

Portia: I haven't felt THIS awful since I ate ten servings of peach crisp in one sitting...

Goldie asked me for a new greeting, and I told her to say “I’m golden!” I wasn’t in a very creative mood, as you can probably tell. 😛 But then again, it’s hard to think up something good when they put you on the spot like that.

Several of my villagers were talking about the fishing tournament coming up this weekend. But I don’t plan on participating.

After making two trips around town, I still didn’t see Tom anywhere. Villagers don’t hide in the museum exhibits in City Folk like they can in New Leaf and New Horizons, but there is one place where they can go: The Roost. He must really like the coffee!

Tom: Man, a fine, locally owned cafe like this is really hard to find these days, lone bone.
Tell me about it! I wish my island had one!

I spoke to him repeatedly, and he eventually spouted this classic line of dialogue that I’ve seen many times before from other characters.

Tom: The coffee here is rich and mysterious, much like myself.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! And good luck if you’ll be participating in the upcoming fishing tourney! 🙂
