Whiskers

Last Sunday, Marlo the hamster was camping at the campsite. I don’t particularly care for the little guy though, so I didn’t invite him to move in.

Marlo: Heya! I'm just here to do some campin' for a spell. This sure is a nice island.

On Monday, Pascal popped up after I caught a scallop. This time, he shared some words of wisdom about…whiskers? I didn’t have this on my 2026 bingo card. 😛

Pascal: Why are they called whiskers, maaan? Whenever I use 'em to whisk stuff, it always ends badly.

He gave me two pearls for my scallop.

I was thrilled to see Savannah the zebra show up as a tourist! She is one of my favorites, and I wish she would show up as a camper!

Savannah: My trip won't be very long, but I'm sure it'll be good, y'all.

On Wednesday, June asked me to deliver a gift (a fitness tank) to Static. He tried it on right away, and he rewarded me with a baby-chick costume. Even though I wasn’t exactly thrilled with it, I didn’t complain. In fact, I didn’t make a peep. 🐤

Static: My baby-chick costume... Consider it a reward, OK?

Camofrog visited Forest as tourist on Thursday. When I spoke with him, his head actually lined up with the bushes, and much of his body was in the shadow of my house. When he blinked, he actually was kinda camouflaged!

Camofrog: I'm impressed you'd stop for a chat with a complete stranger like me... Gotta say, I don't hate it.

Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “I Love You” at his show. Peanut, Bones, and Static were also in attendance. Good song!

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little I Love You?

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • Last Saturday, Peanut, Ankha, and Merengue joined me for a concert in the rain. K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Oasis” for us.
  • Wednesday, Ankha was sick. I gave her some medicine, and she handed me a do-rag.
  • I returned a lost book to Bones, and he thanked me by giving me a zen cushion.
  • Today, I returned a lost bag to Merengue. She rewarded me with a monstera.

DIY Goods Wanted? Not Anymore!

Last Saturday, another former villager returned to visit as a tourist. It was my most recent villager to leave, Ketchup! She was completely shocked to see me!

Ketchup: NO!

But it was great to see her again! 🍅

Ketchup: Remember me? The glitteringly stupendous Ketchup? I used to live here!

On Sunday, Louie and a tourist named Dobie were both hanging out on the dock, both with thought bubbles saying they don’t know what to do. 😆

Dobie and Louie both had speech bubbles indicating they don't know what to do.

I was actually in the middle of crafting items for Kapp’n, so they were both getting in my way! I eventually decided to lead Dobie all the way to the hotel. Such a long journey, I know.

Dobie: Huh? Follow you to the hotel?

I decided to design a VIP room for the wolf. I made it look like a forest, and I used some log furniture and I gave him a den chair (get it?). I also gave him a moon to howl at.

The VIP hotel room I designed for Dobie the wolf.

After submitting more crafted DIY goods, I earned 3,000 Nook Miles for shipping my 500th product! I have now completed the “DIY Goods Wanted!” set of goals!

DIY Goods Wanted! - Complete!

While I can continue to ship more goods to earn more hotel tickets, I don’t really need them. I have over 30,000 of those already, and I don’t shop at the hotel much anyway.

Yesterday, I saw just a few raindrops as I started up the game, but also a rainbow visible at the top of the hour.

A rainbow shines overhead as my fountains erupt at the top of the hour.

It made for a nice screenshot with my fountains going off, but it almost meant that those few lonely raindrops made it a “rain day,” so I’d be stuck with dozens of new flower buds to clean up today. 😛

I ran into another former villager today, it was Marina! Interestingly enough, my Wild World version of Marina just gave me her photo. But it was nice to see this Marina again too! 🙂

Marina: It's me, Marina! I used to live on this island...

Flick was in town, so I sold him 21 bugs (9 wasps, 5 peacocks, 5 emperors, and 2 tarantulas) for 106,500 bells.

Flick: Ahem. Can I offer you, say, 106,500 bells for the bunch of them?

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week or so:

  • Last Saturday, K.K. Slider performed “Comrade K.K.” for me, Kid Cat, and Bones. But Bones just barely made it in time before the show started.
  • Sunday, I returned a lost item to Louie. He rewarded me with a tiny party cap.
  • On Monday, I gave some medicine to a sick Kid Cat. In return, he gave me a color-block dress shirt.
  • On Tuesday, I returned a lost book to Bones. He thanked me with a paisley bandanna.
  • I helped Gullivarrr on Wednesday, and he sent me a pirate eye patch the next day.

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you next week with more!

A Bridge Too Far

On Sunday, Cally the squirrel was visiting Forest, without a place to stay. I offered to let her stay at the hotel, and I even designed a VIP room for her. I used some of the acorn/tree’s bounty furniture, along with a tree standee, a wild log bench, and a log bed.

An acorn themed hotel room for Cally.

Cally seemed to enjoy it!

Cally: Thank you so much! I've got a great room to stay in while I'm enjoying Forest, WHEE!

On Monday, another tourist needed a place to stay. But this time, it was Candi the mouse. As some of you may know, Candi is a bit of a rival of mine in my GameCube town. And due to her proximity to a bridge, I sometimes use a glitch that lets me push her into the water in that game. So when designing her hotel room, I added in a Kerokerokeroppi bridge to remind her of that. I also filled in every empty spot with pitfall seeds. Enjoy the room, Candi! 😈

The bridge and pitfall themed room I designed for Candi.
Candi: Oh! Thanks again for inviting me to stay at this hotel. My room is the absolute best, sweetie!

On Tuesday, I wasn’t paying attention after starting up the game. And when I did look over at the screen, I saw a pair of big eyes looking at me through the trees next to my house! 😮

O'Hare looks at me through the trees next to my house.

It was just O’Hare the rabbit, and he was just in town as a tourist. But it kind of surprised me seeing him come out of the shadows like that. 😆

Chadder the mouse was camping out at the campsite (for the 3rd time), so I stopped in to say cheese hello. As cute as he may brie be, I did not ask him to move in.

Chadder, at the campsite: Ahoy. Chadder is my name, and traveling, surfing the web, and dance are my passions three.

By yesterday (Wednesday), the snow of winter had all melted. Yay! I spotted another former villager in town as a tourist, Eloise the elephant! It was nice to see her again! 🙂

Eloise: It wasn't long ago that I lived here. Eloise, remember?
Of course. I have a memory like an elephant. 😉

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Monday, I gave some medicine to a sick Agent S. She thanked me with some mariachi clothing.
  • Gulliver was in town Tuesday, and I dug up the parts to his communicator. However, I forgot to return them to him! I realized my mistake the next day, when I found the parts all rusted in my pockets. Oops.
  • Yesterday, I returned a lost book to Ankha. She rewarded me with a loungewear shirt.
  • Flick was in town today, and I sold him 32 bugs (mostly dung beetles and wasps) for 156,750 bells.

Enjoy the newly-green grass, and I’ll be back with another entry next week! Never Stop Crossing!
