Today, Dodo Airlines sent me a letter thanking me for using their service. They sent me a DAL tee, so I put it on.
I made a quick afternoon trip to Tom’s town of Tomland, and Tom was dressed as a cowboy. Yee-haw! ðŸ¤
When I played in my own town later, I found star fragments lying around on my beach. They came from last night’s meteor shower. But I was actually surprised I didn’t get a letter from Wishy explaining these things.
I counted three regular star fragments, a large star fragment, and an Aries fragment. There was actually another meteor shower tonight, so I wished on at least one more shooting star.
Even though Mabel was in the plaza, she said her shop was closed for the day. So I wasn’t able to buy anything from her today.
A bottle message contained a recipe for a rose bed, and I got a recipe for a wooden chest from Marcel.
I shot down two balloon presents tonight. The first one contained a figure skating costume (a dress). But the second one contained something much better: 10,000 bells! I didn’t even realize you could get money bags from balloon presents!
Shari taught me another reaction, called cold chill. It’s the one where the leaf blows by.
It’ll be a future burial ground once I make enough pitfalls. 😉
I toyed with the idea of using fences to make a yard next to my house. However, I’m not quite happy with it, so I may not keep it this way.
I know it’s a shorter entry today, but more should be going on tomorrow. Town hall will be opening, for one thing!
My latest gameplay video is up, showing events from days 5-6, including my first meeting with Wisp and Saharah.
In Tom Nook’s announcements, he informed me that Resident Services is upgrading to a new building (town hall)! It won’t be open until the day after tomorrow, but that’s okay. It’s nice to see more progress being made in town! 🙂
I had two letters from Timo, who came to Friday Night Forest. She sent me 20 pitfall seeds! Wow! 😮 Thank you so much! I buried one and dug it back up to learn the recipe.
Look out world!
I also received my first rating from the Happy Home Academy. They gave me 7,221 points, and a “B” rank. They sent me an ironing board as my reward. (Hey, that rhymed).
There was a throwback wrestling figure for sale at Nook’s Cranny today, and it’s really big! It’s as big as Timmy and Tommy!
Mabel was selling clothes and accessories at the plaza again today, and I bought some pleather sneakers from her. They look a lot better than the slip-on loafers I was wearing.
Thanks to tips from Kaleb, Max Powers, and Trainiax in yesterday’s entry, I bought the “Pocket Organization Guide” from the Nook Stop in Resident Services to expand my storage to 30 items. That’s a big relief. Thanks, guys! If the name of it wasn’t so vague, I might have bought it sooner. 😀 I just didn’t realize what it was! 😛
Today, I learned that sickness is back in New Horizons. Louie was sick with a cold, and he was wearing a Santa hat for some reason. I bought some medicine for him. I noticed that villagers now spin around horizontally, rather than doing a flip, as they take their medicine. He gave me a fishing vest as thanks. Get well soon, D.K.!
Don’t hug me. I’m scared.
I made sure to introduce myself to my new favorite villager who just moved in, Agent S!
I like that the outside of her house is blue, just like her outfit.
Also, I kept hearing an occasional ringing or jingling sound in my town, and I didn’t know what it was. It was starting to annoy me! But as I took a picture of Agent S’s house, I saw the source: shooting stars! And yes, I pressed the A button to wish on one. 🙂
Today’s bottle message came from Dom, and it contained a recipe for a bamboo wall decoration. A balloon present I shot down contained a writing chair.
When I ran into Shari, she laughed in my face! But that was a good thing, because she taught me the laughter reaction! That’s the one I’ve been waiting for! Thanks, Shari! 😀
I also visited Midge, and she was crafting. When I spoke with her, she gave me a DIY recipe for a wooden toolbox.
Now that I have pitfall seeds, and the means to make even more of them, I decided to make a change to my passport. My new title is Late-Night Troublemaker! Very fitting. 😉
I even included Agent S in my new passport photo.
I rearranged my benches into a new position. I’m probably going to have Friday Night Forest again this week, at the same time (10pm Eastern, 7pm Pacific).
At the plaza, Shari was singing again. Marcel came over and sat down next to her, and he seemed to enjoy it? But then again, the smile on his face is painted on, so it’s hard to know for sure.
I gave Kelly and Jorge a couple pitfalls before wrapping up my night. See you next time! 🙂
At Nook’s Cranny today, I bought a cone. It’s a traffic cone, but it’s just called a cone. (I later put it in front of Marcel’s house as a warning). I also bought two recipe packs from the Nooklings’ cabinet: “DIY for Beginners” and “Test your DIY Skills.” Better late than never, I suppose. 😛
Outside, I was quite surprised to find Harvey out walking around!
No, I’m just shipwrecked here.
He told me about his island, saying I could now fly there from the airport. I’ll check it out later in this entry, but I wanted to make my rounds first.
I spotted another familiar place at the plaza. It was Mabel!
She plans to open up her own shop on the island. But in the meantime, she’ll stop by a couple times a week to sell clothing and accessories. Unfortunately, I wasn’t interested in anything she had today. It looked like mostly women’s clothing, aside from some steel-toed boots. That would be a funny combination to wear. 😛 But it is nice to see another NPC that’s starting to show up!
As I was banging the money rock, Louie called out to me. He apparently had another suggestion for the town, but my pockets were full (as usual).
Remember that first money tree I planted? It was fully grown now!
I shook the money bags down, scoring a total of 3,000 bells. So I guess money bags actually are a way to earn money in New Horizons. In previous games, they were basically just for decoration because you would typically get less money out of them than what you put in. But still, you’ll end up with a bunch of trees you may not want if you do it every day…so I likely won’t bother with them very often.
When I visited Marcel in his house, I saw that he was crafting something. That means he would be giving me a recipe, but since my pockets were full, I went back outside to drop something. As I went out the door, he turned around to look at me, and used the curiosity (question mark) emotion. As if to say “hey, where are you going?” 😛
When I returned, he gave me a recipe for a matryoshka.
Next, I headed over to meet my newest neighbor, Midge the bird. She instantly becomes my 2nd favorite villager (after Louie) at the moment, although she’s going to drop down to 3rd by tomorrow.
Tom Nook had a new customization workshop for me today. He gave me some customization kits, which are basically credits, but they take up a space in your pockets for some reason. They allow you to change the color or style of many furniture items, just like Cyrus did in New Leaf.
As I exited his tent, I saw Louie doing some stretches in the plaza…as Harvey tried to hold his hand. (Just kidding about the last part). 😛
But that’s not all. Shari was also nearby, singing! This was the first time I’ve heard one of my animals sing.
Back at my house, Louie’s letter arrived. He sent me a public bench, but I don’t have any immediate plans to use it.
I had a tree right in front of my museum entrance, and I didn’t like it being right there. So I cut it down and planted two trees instead, on either side of the entrance.
When I went back over to Shari, she taught me the disagreement reaction. So I’ll be able to shake my head no. That’s a helpful reaction to have!
I’m still in the process of pulling my initial weeds in town, and I’m probably 90% done. But I didn’t get very far today because my pockets kept filling up. Between all the tools and crafting materials, there’s not much space left over! I know the pockets can be expanded at some point, but I hope it’s soon because it’s starting to get annoying.
After a much-needed nap, I took a plane out to Harvey’s island. He runs a photo studio called Photopia there. You can decorate the rooms of his house just for photo-taking opportunities, and you can bring in models (villagers, but you need their Amiibo cards) and choose their wardrobe. I like the concept, but I’m probably too lazy to fully decorate a room of his house just to take some photos. 😛
This was the only room of the house that wasn’t completely empty.
I shot down two balloon presents today: One had a DIY recipe for a bamboo-shoot lamp, and the other was a recipe for a basket pack. I found a bottle message that gave me a recipe for firewood. Gee, I wonder what that’s made out of. 😉
If you haven’t yet seen Wi-Fi Moments #1, here it is! I hope you enjoy it!
