Cat Picnic

Last Saturday, Bob and Kid Cat told me they were going on a picnic together. They asked me for advice on where to have it.

Kid Cat: We're going on a picnic, but we can't decide where to go! Help us out, jetsetter?

I suggested the beach, and Bob was happy because he likes to fish. And he said seashells are the chips of the sea! Yikes, I hope he has some really strong teeth!

Bob: Yeah! The beach! I like fishing! It's like free lunch! And seashells are the chips of the sea!

Broffina the chicken was camping out at the campsite, so I stopped in to say hello. But unlike last week, there was no temptation to adopt this camper.

Broffina: Getting to live in a place like this... don't you dare take it for granted, cluckadoo!

On Monday, Agent S was surprised to see me wearing the rabbit tee she gave me. But there’s just one problem with that: It was Peanut that sent me the rabbit tee! I even went back and double-checked my footage from last week! So I don’t know what Agent S is talking about!

Agent S: HAAAAANG ON! Is that the rabbit tee I gave you?!

Savannah was sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine. She rewarded me with a bottled ship.

C.J. was in town on Tuesday, and I caught three big-time fish to complete his seasports challenge. The third one was an ocean sunfish! 🙂

Me, holding an ocean sunfish: That's 3 big-time fish! Which means...you just completed the challenge! Go tell C.J.!

I then sold him 32 fish for 520,500 bells. That’s a nice chunk of change when you get over half a million bells for one pocketful of fish!

C.J.: Oh, you got a whole school for me? All together that'll be... 520,500 bells. Deal?

There was another camper on Wednesday, Gloria the ugly duckling, at the campsite. Let me tell you, I ducked out of there pretty quack. I mean, pretty quick.

Gloria: I wasn't sure what I thought at first, but I tell you...I've really grown to like this place, quacker.

Thursday (July 9th) was Static’s birthday, and I made sure to attend his birthday party. Just like with Agent S a week earlier, I gave Static some bamboo grass that I recently ordered. He seemed to think it was a generous gift, and I think it’ll look nice in his house.

Static: Some bamboo grass? This is one mighty generous gift!

That wasn’t the only similarity to Agent S’s party last week, though. Louie was again the squirrel’s other party-goer…and he again accused me of being late to the party!

Louie: You're late, burrito! We were waiting for you!

Who made him the town’s official timekeeper, anyway? Maybe he keeps up with his Donkey Kong jungle beats…but I think punctuality is slightly different from rhythm. 😉

Today, my old buddy Apple (of Apple Lane fame) visited town as a tourist. It was nice to see her again! 🙂

Apple: I'm gonna be a good li'l ex-resident and keep droppin' bells to hype this place more and more, cheekers!

Have a great weekend, and I’ll be back with more next week!

Title Screen Mosh Pit?

I recently put a new chair near my cooking/crafting/changing/storage area by my western ramp. And I guess I should’ve expected to find tourists there, but it caught me by surprise when I found Peewee there on Sunday.

Peewee sits and watches me.
This is my work area, not a resting place for nosy blue apes.

When I walked up that ramp to the campsite, I was excited when I saw Big Top was the day’s camper! I really wanted him to move in, but it all depended on who he would replace. When I asked, he said something I didn’t want to hear:

Big Top, at the campsite: Yay! Hey, would it be OK if I talked to Static about swapping?

He would replace Static. Oof. As much as I like Big Top, I couldn’t kick out Static.

I recently moved my leaf statue to my stargazing area. Do you like it here?

Thursday (July 2nd) was Agent S’s birthday. I made sure to attend her party, and I gave her some bamboo grass that I had just ordered. She seemed to appreciate it.

Agent S: Wow! I wasn't expecting you to get some bamboo grass! Are you sure it's OK?

And as you can see, Louie was also at the party. He accused me of being late to the party, but I wasn’t late at all. 😛

Louie: You're late, burrito! We were waiting for you!

When I wrapped up my session, I was taken back to a crowded scene on the title screen. Six animals (Peanut and five tourists) were all huddled closely, as if they were in a mosh pit! 😆

Six animals cluster together on the title screen.

Today, I spotted Cephalobot walking around near my house. He was visiting Forest as a tourist, but he didn’t book a hotel room.

Cephalobot: Only, I haven't booked a hotel room. Guess that makes me a nomad...

I took him back to the hotel and I designed a VIP room for him. I went with an underwater theme, so I hope he’ll feel at home here. As long as he doesn’t rust, that is.

The underwater-themed VIP room I designed for Cephalobot at the hotel.

He loved the room!

Cephalobot: I've been a P for a while, but thanks for making me feel VI, donk donk.

Leilani rewarded me with 300 hotel tickets for designing the room. Unfortunately, I still need to do five more of these before I can finish that Nook Miles achievement. I’ll get there someday. 😛

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • Last Saturday, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Bashment” for me and Kid Cat.
  • On Wednesday, Peanut sent me a rabbit tee in the mail. And that’s what I’ve been wearing since.
  • I helped out Gulliver on Thursday, and he sent me a silk hat in the mail.

I recently posted my latest video comparing my Animal Crossing towns, so please check out Forest Quick Comparisons 2026:

He Forgot the Words!

Last Saturday, Pascal popped up after I caught a scallop. And you know how he normally shares some words of wisdom? Well, he apparently forgot them this time! Oops!

Pascal: Oh maaan...I forgot what I was gonna say. Or, like, maybe my words just had somewhere else to be.

But he still gave me a mermaid fishy dress and a pearl for the scallop.

My former villager Tybalt returned as a tourist on Tuesday. It wasn’t his first time visiting, but I was surprised when he said he was voted “Buffest Forest Hero” twice running. 😆 I think Louie might object to that statement! But it was good to see Tybalt again!

Tybalt: Remember me? I was voted Buffest Forest Hero twice running. I'm Tybalt!

June recently asked me for a new catchphrase to replace “in spring.” So I told her to say “all summer” now instead. I’m keeping it seasonal, except for the fact that her greeting is still about hibernation. 😛

June: Time to hibernate! Stay awhile, all summer.

On Wednesday, I found Gonzo camping at the campsite. He seemed nice, but I’m not a big fan of koalas in Animal Crossing.

Gonzo, at the campsite: Heya! I'm just here to do some campin' for a spell. This sure is a nice island.

On Thursday, Bones asked me to play a treasure hunt game with him. He only gave me three minutes instead of six, but that wasn’t a problem…because it took me just 17 seconds to find the buried treasure!

2:43 remains on the timer as I found the treasure.

The treasure was a vampire costume. What a fang-tastic reward. (Sorry for the bad pun. But it is a bloody good prize.) 🧛

The June Bug-Off was held today, but I played about an hour too late to participate. But that didn’t stop Flick from asking me how I enjoyed the event! You’d think he would’ve noticed if I had participated or not, but I guess he was just obsessing over the bugs instead.

Flick: How did you enjoy this Bug-Off, our regular celebration of bugs? Were you spiritually enriched?

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • Last Saturday, K.K. performed “K.K. Song” for me, Bob, and Savannah.
  • C.J. was in town on Monday, and I sold him 12 fish for 198,000 bells.
  • Yesterday, I sold 32 bugs to Flick for 220,500 bells. That bumped my savings account balance up to 140 million bells.
  • Due to the Bug-Off today, there was no K.K. concert tonight.

The full slate of summer bugs and fish arrives next week! Hope to see you then!
