Kid Cat’s Photo

I encountered Pascal while diving on Monday. He gave me two pearls for the scallop I caught, and he also told me about “traffic jelly.”

Pascal: No one likes a traffic jam. But traffic jelly? Slap some peanut butter on it and it's aaaall good.
With traffic jelly, all drivers’ sanity is preserved.

On Thursday, Peanut sent me a bingo wheel in the mail. I wrapped it up and took it over to June’s house for her birthday party! She said she would treasure the gift. I hope so!

June, at her birthday party: Oh, this is so sweet! You got me a bingo wheel! I will treasure this, in spring.

Static was also at the party, and he commented on how happy June looked. He was right about that!

Static, at June's birthday party: Look at that. You see it, right? Just look at that big ol' grin on June's face!

Yesterday, June sent me a letter thanking me for the gift. She attached another copy of her photo! Thank you, June! 🙂

Clay the hamster was camping up at the campsite. He’s certainly a unique-looking critter. It looks like he’s wearing a mask that covers his entire head except his eyes, although it’s apparently not a mask. I did not ask him to move in.

Clay, at the campsite: Hi there! Are you from this island? I'm here camping.

The Stamp Rally is underway, and I decided to collect the stamps in the aquarium today. I spotted June hanging out near “The Deep,” so I chatted with her and then stamped my card.

Stamp Spot: The Deep

I also found the other two stamps in the fish section and then returned to Blathers. He also stamped my card, and then he gave me a fish plaque. When I went back outside, I ran into Kid Cat. I gave him the fish plaque, and in return, he gave me his photo!

Kid Cat: Gotta give as much as you take! Please take Kid Cat's photo!

I took it home and put it on display. His favorite quote on the back is “Crime doesn’t pay!”

Kid Cat's photo sits next to Peanut's photo.

Thank you, Kid Cat!

Here are a few other quick notes about this week in Forest:

  • On Tuesday, I sold 16 bugs to Flick for 81,750 bells. These Flick visits are about to get more profitable now that we’re getting into rare bug season soon!
  • I helped out Gulliver on Wednesday, and he sent me a South Pole in the mail.
  • Tonight, I told K.K. Slider I was feeling blue and he performed “K.K. Ballad” for me.

Tube-Shaped World

On Monday, Pascal was talking about the world being tube-shaped…as if we’re all ants on a roll of paper towels!

Pascal: Ever feel like it's a tube-shaped world...and we're just ants crawling around on a roll of paper towels?

He gave me a mermaid fishy dress and a pearl for my scallop.

The next day, Static was singing in the plaza. I took a seat on the ground in between Savannah and Merengue to enjoy the show.

On Thursday, I found a lost item on the ground. I returned it to its owner, Static the squirrel. He said it was his “special pouch.”

Static: Whoa! You found my special pouch!
I think that’s where he keeps his nuts.

He thanked me for returning it, and he gave me a cycling cap.

Baabara, the fluffy demon herself (from my GameCube town) was camping at the campsite. Naturally, I had no interest in asking her to move in.

Baabara: I wasn't sure what I thought at first, but I tell you...I've really grown to like this place, daahling.

Tonight, I headed over to the plaza for the Saturday night concert. I asked for a random song, and K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Moody” for me, Kid Cat, Agent S, and Louie.

Here are a few other quick notes about this past week:

  • Last Sunday, I returned a lost book to Savannah. She thanked me with a tee-parka combo.
  • On Monday, I gave medicine to Savannah when she was sick. She gave me a worker’s jacket.
  • I helped out Gullivarrr on Wednesday, and he sent me a sea captain’s coat.

See you next time!

Twin Tourists?

On Monday, I encountered Pascal while diving. He told me that fresh-baked cookies are like hugs for your mouth. That certainly sounds like an odd comparison, but I can’t exactly disagree with it either. 🍪

Pascal: Cookies fresh out of the oven are like warm hugs for your mouth. And your mouth...maaan, it needs hugs too.

He gave me two pearls for the scallop I caught.

On Tuesday night, I spotted two orange mice that were tourists that looked the same at first glance. As if they were twins, or clones!

But when the one turned around to say “Cheese!” it was clear that they were very different indeed. It was Bettina and Limberg! Oops!

On Thursday, Julia the ostrich was camping in town. She said she loves Forest, particularly the air, trees, and water. But I have a feeling she’d say the same thing even if a town didn’t have any trees.

Julia, at the campsite: I absolutely love this island, don't you? The air! The trees! The water! It's all so splendid.

I found Pascal while diving again, and he had another quote that I apparently haven’t included in the blog before. He said if you “waste your time” doing something you enjoy, then the time isn’t really wasted. Very true!

Pascal: Maaan, if you waste your time doing something you enjoy, then you don't waste your time.

Tonight, I stopped at the plaza to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I was joined by both of my purple buddies, both of my villagers whose names start with “B,” and two of my three squirrels. In other words, Bones, Bob, Static, and Agent S. K.K. performed “King K.K.” for us.

Here are a couple other quick notes about this week:

  • On Thursday, I retrieved Wisp’s spirits for him. He rewarded me with a snare drum.
  • Yesterday, Flick was in town. I sold him 31 bugs for 151,500 bells.
