Static the Gardener

Yesterday, I returned a lost book to Bones. He said it was his diary! In return, he gave me a checkered chesterfield coat. That item is a mouthful! And an alliterative mouthful, at that.

Bones: There ya go! It's a checkered chesterfield coat!

Static was talking about how much he enjoys gardening. He even said he wouldn’t be so pleasant and easygoing if not for gardening. So… I guess that means he doesn’t do it very often. 😛

Static: That's right, kiddo. I wouldn't be so pleasant and easygoin' if it weren't for these green thumbs.

When I spoke with Merengue, she told me that she’s currently reading a romance novel. And it had her imagining her ideal date…

Merengue: Oh! What about a nice, long walk along the shore, just taking in the seaside scenery together?
Sounds nice.

Tonight, Bones joined me for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he performed “Space K.K.” for us.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little Space K.K.?

Honestly, not a whole lot has been going on in Forest lately. But here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • On Sunday, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Western” for me, Ankha, Bob, Merengue, and Kid Cat. Nice crowd!
  • Peanut was sick with a cold, so I crafted some medicine right in her house. She took the medicine, and she rewarded me with an explorer’s hat.
  • I helped out Wisp on Thursday, and he gave me a patchwork sofa chair.
  • After recovering Gullivarrr’s phone, he sent me a pirate-treasure robe yesterday.
  • I sold 14 bugs to Flick for a total of 61,200 bells.

Fits Like Yoga Pants

Last Saturday, I listened in on a conversation between my peppy squirrels, Agent S and Peanut. Peanut decided to start using Agent S’s catchphrase, “in Wii Fit.”

Peanut: Ohmigosh! ME TOO! In Wii Fit! Hey! I think your saying might have maybe rubbed off on me!

Agent S replied that the phrase fits Peanut like yoga pants! Very fitting.

Agent S: Ohmigosh! Peanut, that saying already fits you like yoga pants!

On Tuesday, Tex the penguin was camping in town. This was his third time camping here, and I’m still not interested. 😛

Tex, at the campsite: Ahoy.

Yesterday, I ran into Pascal while diving. He told me that the present is the past, because his sentence will already be in the past by the time he finished it. 😛 But more interestingly, this had to have been one of Pascal’s closest visits to the shore. I could even see the sand on the beach behind him (and Merengue, who was resting under a coconut tree).

Pascal: The present is the past, maaan. By the time I finish saying this sentence, it'll already be history.

He gave me a pearl for my scallop.

Today, the fall fishing tournament was held. I participated in one run, and it wasn’t going well. At one point, Kid Cat was blocking my path…and when I tried to go around him, my character jumped and scared a fish away (and I still couldn’t get around Kid Cat). Then later, I pressed the button too soon and scared another fish away. So I only ended up catching five fish.

I caught a rainbowfish! Gotta keep this up!

The good news is that two of my fish (a red snapper and a pike) were semi-valuable catches, so I was able to sell the haul for a decent price (8,880 bells).

But my seven points earned weren’t enough to net a new prize (even with one previous point already in my pool). Oh well. I didn’t care enough to play a 2nd round though. 😛

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week or so:

  • Last Saturday, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Mambo” for me, Bob, and Bones.
  • I helped out Wisp on Tuesday, and he gave me a nightgown. Sorry Wisp, but I’m not going to model it for you. 😛
  • Louie was sick on Wednesday, so I gave him some medicine. In return, he gave me a box sofa.
  • I helped out Gulliver, and he sent me a South Pole on Thursday.

See you next time! Never Stop Crossing!

5 Million Miles

After making some coconut milk on Tuesday, I hit a new milestone: 5 million Nook Miles!

You got Nook Miles! (Balance: 5,000,040)

Yesterday, I ran into Pascal while diving. He gave me a pearl in exchange for my scallop, but he also had some words of wisdom: He told me that if I need to say something hard, make sure it comes from a place of love…or a place of pizza.

Pascal: If you gotta say something that's hard, be sure it comes from a place of love...or, at least, a place of pizza.

I’ve noticed that Pascal has several quotes that involve pizza. He’s making me hungry, maaan. 🍕

Today, I found a message bottle from Soleil on the beach. It contained a recipe for pull-apart bread. Several minutes later, June taught me the exact same recipe! Dough-ja vu! What a coincidence!

When I went to visit Bob, he asked if I had a laser and a spaceship. He was making fun of my zap suit!

Bob: Are you on patrol? Do you have a laser? Do you have a spaceship? Can I get your autograph? A huh huh...

He’s supposed to be my friend! He’s probably just jealous of me, Agent S, and Kid Cat. 😛

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Sunday, K.K. Slider performed “Imperial K.K.” for me, Bob, and Agent S.
  • C.J. was in town on Tuesday, and I sold him 16 fish for 155,475 bells.
  • Today, I returned a lost bag to Merengue. She rewarded me with a pullover jacket.
  • Flick was in town, and I sold him 18 bugs for 101,250 bells.

Today I posted my (almost) monthly train animation showing my villager arrivals and departures for the month. Check it out!
