Peanut’s Birthday

Sunday (June 8th) was Peanut’s birthday, and I certainly didn’t want to miss her first birthday in Forest! I headed over to her party, and I found another cute, short, peppy villager there. No, not Agent S, but Ketchup.

Peanut: Hey, lollipop! Thanks for coming to my birthday party!

I gave her a customized iron garden table that I crafted, and she seemed to love it. (Not that they ever admit to hating a gift.) 😆

Peanut: I'm going to take SUCH good care of this! Lollipop, you are seriously the best at choosing gifts.

On Tuesday, I ran into Pascal in the ocean while diving. He said it’s OK to be scared of stuff like sharks. Me, I just want to catch the sharks for bells. 🦈

Pascal: It's OK to be scared of stuff you think is scary. Like sharks. Sharks scare me, and that's OK.

Bones asked me to play a treasure hunt game, and he gave me six minutes to find the buried item. It took me all of five seconds to find it! Fastest treasure hunt ever! 😆

Digging up the treasure as the starting banner is still on-screen, with 5:55 remaining on the timer.

The treasure was a maxi shirtdress.

I spotted a double rainbow up in the sky, although it was a bit faint.

Looking up at a rainbow in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

On Wednesday, a villager had a new nickname for me. Merengue wants to call me biscuit, in a pie. That’s a lot of food words…in fact, it’s a mouthful!

Merengue: I'm so glad you like it! Looks like I'll be calling you biscuit from now on, in a pie.

Yesterday, my savings balance reached 115 million bells.

Savings Balance: 115,000,000 bells

Leif was in town, and Bob wondered what kind of flowers he had…for an ugly. 😆

Bob: I got a tip from my bug friends that Leif is here! They want me to find out what flowers he's got, for an ugly.

Today, I went over to Harv’s Island to have Katrina tell my fortune. As the camera zoomed in, a bird flew up, nearly at the camera. For a split second, it appeared to have landed on my head. Heads up!

It appears that a very large bird is resting on my head as I speak with Katrina.

Katrina just said that my luck with health will improve. Anyway, here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Monday, Peanut sent me a silk floral-print shirt to thank me for the birthday gift.
  • I sold 12 fish to C.J. on Tuesday, and he paid me 199,500 bells for them.
  • Gullivarrr sent me another pirate outfit on Wednesday.
  • Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Adventure” for me and Merengue.

See you all next week!

Pascal the Bird?

I found Pascal while diving on Sunday, and he told me that he wished he was a bird!

Pascal: Sometimes I wish I was a bird. It's pretty obvious why--so I could turn my head back and forth real fast!
That’s not obvious at all.

The next day, I found out that Elvis is alive! And I got to meet him! …But it was just Elvis the lion, who was camping in town.

Elvis, at the campsite: Heya! I'm just here to do some campin' for a spell. This sure is a nice island.

I don’t mean to be cruel, but I wasn’t interested in asking him to move in. I then left his tent quickly; a little less conversation was fine with me.

Now that June is here, sharks now inhabit the ocean waters around my island. Even though the month started on Sunday, I didn’t catch my first shark of the year until yesterday (Friday). Biter late than never!

I caught a great white shark! Watch out for its jaws!

Tonight, K.K. Slider was in town for his usual Saturday night show. I asked for a random song (as I normally do), and he performed “K.K. Cruisin'” for me and Static. It’s a classic!

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Monday, I sold 8 bugs to Flick for 33,750 bells.
  • Ketchup was sick with a cold today, so I crafted some medicine for her. It made her feel better, and she gave me a tee and towel as thanks.
  • I caught two more sharks tonight (a great white and a saw shark).

I’ll see you next time!

Hardly a Soul

Last Sunday, Tex the penguin was camping at the campsite for the 2nd time. I’m not interested in him, but I still said hello (and goodbye).

Tex, at the campsite: So far, I like what I'm seeing. 100 percent of Texs would rate this campground highly.

Ketchup asked me for a new catchphrase on Tuesday, and I told her to say “squeeze me.” You know, like a ketchup bottle. 😛

Ketchup: So you think I should be saying... squeeze me?

She was talking about dancing uncontrollably to a samba tune, and she needs help to stop.

Ketchup: Sometimes it never stops and you have to yell for help, squeeze me!

Today is K.K. Slider day, and as you know, he practices in the plaza all day long. But here’s one (nitpicky) detail that bothers me. I often see a (fairly) big crowd watching K.K. practice during the day…

Static, Merengue, Ankha, Bob, and Jeff watch K.K. practice during the day.

And then later, you know, during the actual concert, there’s hardly a soul around!

K.K., performing for just Jeff and Ankha: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little K.K. Soul?

Ankha and I enjoyed the show, but I wish there was more interest in the actual show than just the warm-ups. 😛

Not much else was going on tonight, but here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Tuesday, I sold seven bugs to Flick for 28,500 bells.
  • I helped Gulliver on Wednesday, and he sent me an ancient administrator hat. It was hideous. 😆
  • Agent S was sick Thursday, so I gave her some medicine. She quickly recovered, and she gave me an athletic jacket.
  • I returned a lost item to Peanut, and she thanked me with a sleeveless tunic.
