Eight Sizes Too Small

On Monday, I got to see the inside of Peanut’s house for the first time since she unpacked. She has a lot of pink cute furniture in her house, which reminds me of the lovely furniture in the older games.

The inside of Peanut's house. How cute!

Ankha’s catchphrase continues to pay dividends. She told me that the Nooklings are so cute, she can’t resist buying their items…before adding that she hates it. 😆

Ankha: When they recommend an item with those adorable smiles, I can't possibly say no, I hate it.

On Tuesday, Drago the dragon gator was camping at the campsite. I like Drago, and I’ve had him in New Leaf many years ago. But I did not invite him to move in.

Drago: I'm on a camping trip, trying to meet good food.
Please don’t eat me. I taste terrible.

When I visited Merengue on Wednesday, she told me I looked great in my striped shirt. She told me some striped socks would go great with it, so she gave me some. For once, one of these gifts actually made sense (stripes with stripes). Usually, they’re unrelated and don’t match.

Merengue: You deserve nice things, a bit.

Yesterday, Louie was checking out a henley shirt at Able Sisters. However, I don’t think it would quite fit him. It’s about eight sizes too small. 👕

Louie sizes up a henley shirt. I think it's too small for him.

For a Donkey Kong-sized gorilla to fit into that shirt, it would take quite a Tropical Squeeze. 😛

Today, Ankha told me that she decides what to make for dinner based on the weather. She said that creamed spinach was on the menu today. It was a sunny day, though. Creamed spinach seems more like a rainy/cloudy day meal to me. 😛

Ankha: Today's weather leaves me feeling like, let's see...creamed spinach!

And of course, she added in her catchphrase. 😛

Ankha: I'm hungry already, I hate it!

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Wednesday, I sold 18 bugs to Flick for 86,250 bells.
  • I helped out Gulliver on Thursday, and he sent me another candy-skull mask.
  • I shot down a balloon present today, and I found a milk-glass lamp inside.
  • Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “I Love You” for me, Louie, and Ankha.

I posted my latest New Horizons Moments video the other day, so I hope you’ll check it out if you haven’t seen it yet:

Rio Relocates

Sunday was Bunny Day (Easter), and Zipper T. Bunny was in town. He was talking about his eggs (as usual), and Ketchup looked at him like he was crazy. (He is.)

Zipper: Anyway, my favorite day is finally here! Time to fill this island with lots of bunny cheer!

I spoke to him from behind and I got a good look at Zipper’s zipper.

A look at Zipper's zipper on the back of his bunny costume.

He gave me another Bunny Day wand, and that’s about all there was to do.

On Tuesday, Ankha asked me for a new catchphrase to replace “in my tomb.” So I told her to say “I hate it,” and I love it!

Ankha: Wow! You have great taste in words! I'll use this right away, I hate it!

I think this catchphrase is going to provide so much fun, for weeks to come. 😆

Ankha: If you know who's responsible, tell them that Ankha says they do fabulous work, I hate it.

In Resident Services, I found a striped shirt in the recycle box and I decided to put it on. Bones later asked me for a wharf roach, so I searched for one in the rain. When I finally caught it for him, he rewarded me with a pacifier. He said it’s perfect for me!

Bones: tadaa! It's a pacifier! it's perfect for you!

He’s calling me a baby, right? I mean, there’s no other way to take that. 👶

On Wednesday, Rio told me she was thinking about moving out of Forest. I hadn’t let anyone leave for the past 11 months (when Punchy moved out last May), so I’ve been meaning to let somebody go. Rio has become that somebody.

Rio: I'm thinking of moving off this island...

She has lived in Forest for nearly three years, which is a fairly long time. So I had a good chance to get to know her. I said my final goodbye to her on Thursday.

Rio: We'll be super far apart... But I'll always remember jetsetter and my tres superstar friend.

I then grabbed five Nook Miles Tickets out of storage and headed to a mystery island. I decided that if I didn’t find anyone good, I’d roll the dice on a random move-in. However, that wouldn’t be necessary… I found a familiar face on the very first island I visited. Peanut!

Peanut: If I lived on an island...slacker, I'd be the CALMEST, most relaxed squirrel pp star you ever met!

I recently had Peanut in my Wild World town (from 2021-2024) and she grew on me a lot in that span. I like her a lot, so I didn’t hesitate to ask her to move to Forest. Of course, she won’t be the only squirrel pop star in Forest since I already have Agent S. But I’m happy to invite her to town! 🙂

Peanut moved in today, and I stopped by to greet her. Welcome to Forest, Peanut!

Peanut: I moved! Here! I live here now! Walking distance from your house!

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Tuesday night, I recovered Wisp’s spirits for him. He rewarded me with a down skirt.
  • Wednesday, Bones was sick with a cold. I gave him some medicine, and he gave me a soccer-uniform top.
  • I helped out Gullivarrr, and he sent me a pirate-treasure chest Thursday.
  • K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Aria” for me tonight.
  • I gave a sick Agent S some medicine, and she gave me a dynamic tank top.

Until we meet again, Never Stop Crossing!

Ankha: Ah yes, we meet again, I hate it.

Egg Week

Last Sunday, Zipper T. Bunny hopped out of my nightmares and into my town. He warned me of the upcoming Bunny Day, and he started the onslaught of eggs that have infested every facet of life on Forest over the past week.

Zipper: The time has come! Let's look for eggs! That's my bunny plan!

Not only can eggs be found on trees, underground, in wood, in the sea, in the air on balloons, and in rocks, but villagers will hand them to us as well. On Tuesday, Ankha gave me five sky eggs for free. The only “catch” is that she asked me to think more highly of her. 😛

Ankha: No need to thank me! Just think even more highly of me than you already do, darling.

Wisp was in town that night, and he sneezed out his spirits all over me. 😛

Wisp releases five spirits, which he immediately asks to be returned.

When I gathered them all back up and returned them, Wisp rewarded me with a papa bear.

June told me she was reading a mystery novel from the library (what library?), and she found a note in the pages. It said that penguins don’t get frostbite.

June: the note read, Penguins don't get frostbite. Was that true? I felt like I should know, in my hair.

Gulliver was in town, so I dug up his communicator parts for him. He sent me a pyramid in the mail; that’s one of his better gifts!

On Wednesday, Melba was camping at the campsite. She’s definitely one of the cuter koalas in the game, but I did not ask her to move in.

Melba, at the campsite: Hi, my name's Melba. I'm here on a camping trip! Do you live on the island, toasty?

Yesterday, Agent S told me she enjoys relaxing in her bathtub after dance practice. And by “dance practice,” she just means running circles for half an hour. 😆

Agent S: Sometimes dance practice is just me running in circles for 30 minutes, burning off a sugar rush...

Tonight, K.K. Slider was in town for his Saturday night show. I asked him for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Moody” for me, Ketchup, Rio, and Merengue.

Merengue, Jeff, Rio, and Ketchup enjoy a performance from K.K. Slider in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) for Nintendo Switch.

It’s a sad song, but it was pretty good.

Bunny Day is tomorrow, so check out my new Bunny Day Guide if you need it! I also have guides for New Leaf and City Folk if you’re playing the older games too.
