September Changes

Yesterday, Label was in town and she wanted me to wear an outfit that looks like it belongs in a fairy tale. As an example, she gave me…a military uniform? That sounds like the opposite of a fairy tale to me!

Label: You see, it's a military uniform.

I put it on, and kept my cavalier hat on as well (which probably helped). When I spoke with Label again, she loved the outfit and gave me some Labelle sneakers.

Later on, I started up the island designer app and removed my pillars. This is what it looked like.

My eastern cliff without the pillars.

Moments later, I started working on my new project. I have a general idea of what I want to do, but not exactly a specific plan. I’m still experimenting with some things and I may try out several ideas and layouts before I finalize things. So don’t expect a reveal right away; this may take me several days.

By the way, I also removed my small island with the rock-head statue that was north of town hall.

On Isabelle’s “newscast” early this morning, she announced that acorns and pine cones may now fall from trees you shake. She also sent a DIY recipe for a “tree’s bounty little tree.” And for September, Nook Shopping has a new seasonal item called a grape-harvest basket.

The seasonal grape-harvest basket available from Nook Shopping.

Nook’s Cranny also has a new look for the season. Summer is now over in Animal Crossing, and fall/autumn is now underway.

Once I found my first acorn, I knew just what to do with it: I took it up to the cemetery. It will be my new item for the Animal Crossing: Wild World grave, representing the Acorn Festival.

Early this morning, I caught my first monarch butterfly, cricket, and bell cricket. When I played again tonight, I caught my first migratory locust, red dragonfly, salmon, king salmon, and sweet shrimp. So I’ve already donated a good chunk of the new September catches to the museum. Not a bad day.

Crazy Redd was in town, and two of his paintings appeared to be fakes. The other two were ones that I haven’t seen yet in New Horizons. I ended taking a chance on a detailed painting.

Pascal popped up when I found a scallop in the ocean, and he mentioned there is a used-time shop near his place. But honestly, I was more interested in imagining what his place looks like than wondering how a shop could sell used time. 😉

Pascal: People ask, 'Where does the time go?' But I know, maaan. There's a used-time store near my place.

He gave me a pearl in exchange for the scallop.

Have a great day, and I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow! 🙂

Update: Later on, Midge asked about moving out of town…but I told her to stay. Also, I spotted Wisp in town tonight. I collected his spirits for him, and he gave me a blue intricate wall in return.

Final Fireworks of 2020

Able Sisters had all four colors of frog caps today, so I bought the two I still needed (yellow and red). They also had a blue cavalier hat, so I bought that as well…even though it’s not dark blue like the one in City Folk.

Able Sisters has cavalier hats and frog caps for sale today.

When I visited Rizzo, he told me that the Happy Home Academy wasn’t impressed by him.

Rizzo: So, superstar, did you hear from the Happy Home Academy yet? They weren't impressed by me.

Don’t feel too bad about that, Rizzo. Nobody is impressed by you. 😛

I made a new Jeff Tybalt design, and I set up my fireworks patterns with Isabelle. This is what I went with for the final fireworks festival of the year:

My fireworks designs for August 30, 2020.

At about 9:10 tonight, I opened up my gate. Bran, Logan, Alex (from Pawnee), Timo, Maria, and Sacky showed up, and we watched the fireworks for a bit.

Fireworks go off in the sky over Forest.

I took everyone to the cemetery, and we learned that fish couldn’t be released into the slim pond of water behind the graves. But I learned that I could dive into the ocean from on top of the wall behind the waterfall…but only from the right side.

Jeff dives into the ocean from the cemetery back wall.

We went swimming, hung out at the amusement park arcade, and then we jumped on the pillars (for perhaps the last time).

Jumping on the pillars.

Sacky left without warning, and that seemed to start a revolving door effect a few minutes later. William arrived, TZ arrived, Bran left, and Logan left. We hung out at the plaza and watched the fireworks some more.

Watching more fireworks.

TZ and Alex left after a bit, and I ended the session about 11:00. Thanks to everyone who came, it was fun!

My Namesake

When I visited Lopez today, I saw that my buddy Hornsby was there for a visit. Lopez was telling me about his rocking chair, and how it was custom engineered to hug his butt. However, it was Hornsby’s (considerably larger) butt that was hugging his chair at that particular moment. 😂

Lopez: In layman's terms, it's like a cloud hugging my butt!

Accessing the Nook Stop machine today earned me enough Nook Miles that my account total hit 500,000 miles! There’s not really much point to it, but I thought it was an interesting milestone anyway. I know, I’m weird. 😛 I may use some of them soon though, because I want to visit some mystery islands and stock up on weeds and bamboo. (Again, I’m weird, haha.)

The counter displays 500,200 Nook Miles.

K.K. Slider was actually performing at the plaza on a Saturday for a change (*gasp*). 😛 So I asked him for a random song, and he played Rockin’ K.K. for me. Midge, Keaton, Agent S, and Rizzo were also in attendance.

When I went diving for scallops, Pascal gave me a DIY recipe for a mermaid chair. I made one and put it in my room.

As I mentioned recently, I was informed that Tybalt’s name in French is Jeff. Thanks to Anna on Youtube for pointing this out to me.

Anna: You always have fun ideas of games! Also, I dreamed of Forest and enjoyed the visit! Did you know that in French, Tybalt's name is Jeff?

I wanted a visual example of this, so I checked my Welcome Amiibo cards. While Tybalt’s card does indeed show his other language names, I didn’t have that card. I was thinking about asking someone to take a screenshot for me, but then I thought of something. The language can be changed in the Switch menu, so I could do it myself! And that’s what I did. Here’s a pic of Jeff greeting Jeff. 🙂

Jeff: Salut, Jeff! J'esperais justement te voir, grouaaah.

The last fireworks festival of the year is coming up tomorrow night. I’ll be opening my gate for friends at some point. It’ll likely be sometime around 9 p.m. Eastern time (6 p.m. Pacific), but I suggest checking my Twitter for a more precise time. See you all then!
