Label was in town today, and she wanted to see me in a goth outfit.

She gave me a skull tee, and I put it on. I didn’t really have anything else to go with it, so I just spoke to her again. She said she liked my outfit (but she clearly wasn’t overly impressed), and she said she’ll be sending me a gift in the mail. That will be another tailors ticket.

When I visited Hornsby, he told me that “the bugs” heard me walking towards his house. So he apparently has bugs that spy on me for him? 👀 And this isn’t the first time he’s made a weird comment about his bug friends. Hornsby seems a bit weirder in New Horizons than he did in New Leaf or on GameCube…

Agent S was thinking about moving out of town, but I convinced her to stay. She’s my favorite villager in town, after all!

It was raining again in Forest today, thanks to it being the rainy season. I took advantage of the weather and caught a coelacanth. It, along with a couple of sharks I also caught, helped me make enough money to reach my goal: Paying off my final loan to Tom Nook! That’s right, I’m finally free and no longer in debt!

As for my reward for fully paying off debt? (Spoiler alert: Skip the rest of this paragraph if you don’t want to know what the reward is). Tom Nook doesn’t give us a statue like on GameCube, or a flagpole on our house like in City Folk. But he does offer free exterior renovations for life! That’s nice to have, even if it’s not something tangible.

I decided to finally remodel my house, and this is the look I went with.

I’ve been working on my race course and it’s coming along. But at this point, I’m mainly waiting on some items to arrive. It’s going to be a few more days until I have everything I need, because Nook Shopping has a five-item daily limit.

And just to let you know, I’m not sure if there will be a Friday Night Forest this week. I’m leaning towards not having it, but I’ll try to update later in the week.

Today is the day that Keaton professed his love for me!

Well actually, he was just teaching me the showmanship reaction. But close enough. 😛

In older games, the challenge with flowers was keeping them watered so they didn’t die on days without rain. Fortunately, that doesn’t happen in New Horizons. But there is a different problem that has arisen: Removing the many unwanted flowers that pop up after a rain! I had a ton of them today, mostly on my paths.

And unlike in previous games, you can’t use your shovel to kill flowers! So it’s kind of a pain having to clean them all up. (But don’t get me wrong… this is still a much better “problem” to have than having to water hundreds of flowers every day!)

Despite the summer solstice and Father’s Day occurring this weekend, neither one was mentioned in the game. In earlier games, you would receive a letter and a gift from Dad on Father’s Day. And the summer equinox had its own event in New Leaf. But they are just two of many conspicuous absences in New Horizons.

After I was done with my daily tasks, I started working on my new attraction. I think I’ll just call it a race. Even though it may have a few simple obstacle course elements, it’s different. For one thing, it’s not a one-on-one thing; it’s something everyone can compete on at once. I won’t reveal what it is until it’s done and I’ve had my first race on it. Hopefully that will be later this week, but I still need to order (and make) some more items. 🙂

In case anyone was wondering, my daily glowing spot appeared near the sumo ring today. It was another “clear” spot with nothing else around.

Note to whoever left a 10k bag of bells in town on Friday: Please don’t. I may use this as the prize for my first run of my upcoming race. But in the future, please don’t litter in Forest, even if it’s bags of money. 😛 I’m a stickler about wanting to earn my progress in the game on my own. If you really insist on giving me a gift, feel free to leave me pitfall seeds or party poppers. Those are fun things that don’t impact progress in the game, so I don’t mind them at all.

Nook’s Cranny had a diner neon sign for sale today. It’s the large neon sign that says “We’re open,” and I’ve wanted one for my amusement park since the beginning. Surprisingly, it only cost 3,900 bells, when many smaller, less interesting items often sell for 40k or more. But I’ll take it! I placed it just left of the teacups ride, though I’ll probably need to put some flowers around it as well.

The daily glowing spot’s streak of appearing in Sudden Valley has ended. I found it in front of the museum today. It must prefer places where there’s clear space all around it, since this is a rare spot in town where my path is three spaces wide.

It was raining pretty heavily today, and Apple’s enthusiasm for the rain went a bit overboard. She said it would be great if it rained so much that the island sunk! She assumed we would all turn into mermaids, but still, that’s a horrible thing to hope for! I’ve put a lot of time and effort into making this island a nice place to live, so don’t wish that it sinks, Apple! 😡

Saturday night is K.K. night, so I joined Louie, Agent S, Shari, and Midge at the plaza. K.K. performed K.K. Swing for all of us.

After the show, I attended the completion ceremony for my 4th incline. I found it interesting that there were villagers standing on all three levels for the ceremony! I don’t know if Rizzo, Lopez, and Hornsby even knew what was going on! 😉

Once I was done making my rounds, I started tearing down my obstacle course. Here’s what it looked like before…

I just left the water areas for the moment, because I may re-use some of them. Even though I know basically what I’m doing next, I haven’t decided on the specifics. I’ll be working on that over the next few days, most likely.
