Isn’t it Ironic?

Apple and Louie were both sitting on stools in front of town hall today, and both drinking some coffee. Or it could have been tea, I’m not sure.

As I was walking near Keaton’s house on the mountain, I shot down a balloon present. Keaton looked on as I learned a new recipe…for a birdcage!

I was curious about the recipe, so I headed to my workbench to take a look at it. Apparently you can make it just out of wood! So where exactly does the living bird came from? Hmm…

Birdcage Materials: Wood 8/8.

I crafted one and put it in front of Midge’s house. 🐦

After I put on a HMD (head-mounted display) that Hornsby gave me, I spotted Saharah in town. I bought mysterious wallpaper (a mossy-garden wall) and flowing-river flooring from her. The flooring makes splashing effects when you walk through the water.

I found a lost item on the ground, and Tia told me that it belonged to Agent S. When I took over to my superhero squirrel friend, she gave me a young-royal shirt as my reward.

An anonymous commenter yesterday informed me that animals will display the items you give them the following day…not right after you leave and re-enter their houses like they do in previous games. And sure enough, it was true. Apple had her hamster cage proudly displayed in her house today. So a hamster has a hamster as a pet.

Apple: Feel free to look at all my fab stuff and validate my life choices!

She then did some stretches next to her bed. 😛

Back outside, Tia the living teapot asked me to buy some cream and sugar! Maybe her head is all out of tea? She was just asking for 500 bells, so I gladly helped her out. I didn’t want to make her steaming mad, after all. She is a bit of a hothead, after all. (Just kidding). 😉

Tia: Hopefully you're glad to end up with some cream and sugar.

So to summarize, an eagle watched me learn how to make a birdcage, a hamster displayed a hamster cage, and a teapot sold me some cream and sugar. 😂

Before wrapping up my game for the night, I paid off my latest debt to Tom Nook. I’m having Nook add an upstairs room to my house, and it will be done tomorrow. Unfortunately, I’m now going to owe him 1,248,000 bells. Ouch.

For People Who Visit Forest

Just a couple of notes for people who visit my town: If you don’t want to participate in a certain game I have planned, that’s fine… But do not interfere with the people who are playing. It’s unfair to them, and it’s disrespectful to me because I put a lot of time into setting these games up. Not to mention, the time it takes to re-do something delays the next activity.

And if you feel bored by what we’re doing, don’t just complain that you’re bored; feel free to leave and come back another day (or another time). I know not everybody is a fan of every activity I have planned, and that’s okay. But I get messaged by people on my roster every week who are unable to get into my town (not to mention people who aren’t on my roster, but would like to be), and they would happily take your spot. So if you’re not in the mood, or not enjoying your time in Forest, let someone else have a chance to join in.

I’ve also seen people needlessly running through my flowers to knock the petals off, or shaking a bunch of fruit trees without asking (including non-native fruits). Yes, they grow back, but please be respectful. Selling my non-native fruits is one of the main ways I make bells, so please ask before shaking those trees. Anyone that’s rude or disrespectful may not be welcome back.

Sorry for the little rant, but there have been a few incidents lately that have detracted from the fun of online play. I just don’t want the actions of a few people to sour the mood for the others.

Have a good day, and I’ll see you next time!

Hamster Cage for a Hamster

Today, Louie told me to watch closely…and then he sneezed in my face! Wow, that’s really rude!

Louie: Watch this...HIYAAACHOOO!
If he shoots ya, it’s gonna hurt.

It was his way of teaching me the sneezing reaction, although he could have been less gross about it. 😉

In front of town hall, Apple was singing for Shari. It was cute. 🙂

Apple sings at the plaza as a seated Shari looks on.

Midge was also nearby, so I had a chat with her too. She wondered why someone left the fountain out, which seems like an extremely odd question.

Midge: I wonder why someone left the fountain out?

Aren’t fountains normally outdoors? At least ones this large. What was she thinking?

The other day I mentioned catching a pondskater and not being able to donate it because of full pockets. Just in case anyone was dying in suspense (lol, yeah right), I caught one today and donated it to the museum. 😛

I shook a tree, and a hamster cage fell out of it! Who put that up there? 🐹 So I decided to put its little hamster life into the safe care of…a hamster! That’s right, I gave it to Apple.

Apple: Ohmigosh! Is this...a hamster cage?!

She was excited about it, and she said she was going to show it off in her house. But when I left and re-entered her house, she didn’t have it displayed anywhere.

Back outside, I saw Claudia dancing from across the river. Well, it was more like bobbing from side to side…all while making an ugly face with her eyes. Claudia actually doesn’t look bad when her eyes are open, but sometimes she just makes this face…

I made a minor decorative change to my sumo ring. We haven’t played sumo at Friday Night Forest the past couple weeks, but I think we can this week. Perhaps even another tournament, if people are interested.

Even though it was raining tonight, I didn’t catch any coelacanths. But I did catch two oarfish and several red snappers, so I can’t complain too much.

Have a great day, and I’ll see you next time! 🙂

First Scorpion

I know it’s not a big deal, but it always seems weird to see fish in my obstacle course. Like how did this koi get in there? Did it climb the wall first? 😉

Jeff catches a koi in the pond that makes up part of an obstacle course.
Today I learned you can fish over fences, too.

The same also applies to villagers hanging out here. I’ve been lucky they haven’t been on the course during any races yet. At least not anywhere that they’d be blocking the path. But Keaton was sure enjoying this bench today.

Midge taught me a DIY recipe for a western-style stone, and it’s not just a stone, it’s a gravestone. I guess if I end up burying any of my villagers, I could always use one of these.

When I visited Hornsby, he hopped onto his stack of cushions. He told me that snack time is five of the most important meals of the day! 😀

Hornsby: Why not?! Snack time's five of the most important meals in the day!

As I walked past Nook’s Cranny, I spotted a scorpion! I caught it and donated it to the museum. I went into the bug wing to check it out, and I was disappointed to find that the scorpion and tarantula were kept in separate displays. That’s because in some previous games, you could watch them fight with each other!

Leif had a stand set up in the plaza, but I wasn’t interested. All I could do was shrub my shoulders. 😛

I posted Wi-Fi Moments #4 today; here it is!
