On Monday, June was sitting near my fountain structure (near the shop) as Bob was walking by…on his way to work at the diner, apparently. 😆 Either that, or I just liked this screen grab. 😛

Wednesday was the Lunar New Year, and each of my villagers mentioned it. But there was no proper in-game event for the occasion.

Buzz the eagle was camping at the campsite; I currently have him in my GameCube town. He’s pretty cool, but I did not ask him to move in.

On Thursday, Pascal popped up when I found a scallop in the ocean. He spoke out against the rules of grammar, and his last sentence made my brain hiccup and then melt.

I’d rather listen to Yoda rapping in Pig Latin than try to wrap my head around whatever Pascal just said. 😡

Today, I decided to use a feature that was introduced in Version 2.0 that I hadn’t tried out yet! It’s the “Island Life 101” app. I redeemed 400 Nook Miles and the app was immediately installed on my NookPhone.

But even though it installs right away, you only get tips when you start up the game. So I saved and quit, and then restarted. The tips show up during loading screens, much like the tips in recent Zelda games (and others).

But as the name implies, these tips are designed for beginners. One tip mentions being able to crush rocks or dig up trees by eating fruit, and another one discusses changing the flag at Resident Services. This app would’ve been helpful it was available when the game first launched in 2020. By the time Version 2.0 came out in late 2021, most players already knew these things.

It’s nothing to write home about, and it was probably the least exciting part of the 2.0 update. But I guess I just wanted to cross it off my mental to-do list and get it over with. 😆 I’m curious, have you all downloaded the app or no? Let me know in the comments.

Anyway, here are a few other quick notes about this week:

• On Wednesday, June was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she returned the favor by giving me a jester’s cap.
• I helped out Gulliver, and he sent me my 10 millionth sombrero on Thursday.
• Yesterday, I sold 35 bugs to Flick for 153,750 bells.
• Tonight, K.K. performed “I Love You” for me, Rio, Agent S, and Louie.

On Wednesday, Static told me he wanted to finish all of the projects he’s started over the course of his life. He said it was a bucket list thing, and his first goal was to complete his bucket collection. 🪣

I ran into Pascal while diving, and he asked why lions are considered kings of the jungle when they actually live in the savanna. Good question…maybe they’ve been lion to us all along! 🦁

Yesterday, Bob was talking about wishing on shooting stars. He told me that one time, he asked a star for a ride…

But because he didn’t wish to arrive at a specific location, he just ended up on the roof of Resident Services! 😆 Be careful what you wish for!

Jay the bird (I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that he’s a blue jay) was camping at the campsite. He seems pretty cool, but I didn’t invite him to move in.

Tonight, I attended K.K. Slider’s show at the plaza. We actually had a bit of a crowd for a change: Ankha, Merengue, and Static joined me on a musical adventure. K.K. Adventure, that is. 🎵

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

• On Sunday, a perfect snowboy I built sent me an ice wall.
• Tuesday, Merengue was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she gave me a shop uniform shirt to thank me.
• I returned a lost book to Louie, and he gave me a zen uniform.
• I shot down a balloon present tonight, and I found a jockey’s helmet inside. I guess I can wear it to stirrup some excitement. 😛

On Monday, I listened in on a conversation between Merengue and Louie. Merengue was looking for cooking ideas, but she said Louie’s ideas were dull. (He was just suggesting protein shakes, basically.) So I suggested scalloped potatoes…and it’s making me hungry just thinking about them! 😋

Lately, I’ve been having trouble doing the hot tub/fountain glitch in this particular spot. It used to be very easy to do it here, and now I can’t do it at all!

So I’m wondering if they changed something. But at the same time, I know they haven’t patched the glitch completely, because I can still glitch into my glowing-moss pond in a different location. 🤷

On Thursday, Michael Jackson was camping at the campsite. Oops, I mean Olaf. This is his 2nd time camping here, and I was (still) not interested in asking the smooth criminal to move in.

I was in the Roost yesterday, and I was taking some photos from unique angles. I love how detailed the Roost is! I think this photo is my favorite.

Tonight, Ketchup joined me for K.K. Slider’s concert. I asked the singing dog for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Calypso” for us.

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

• Last Sunday, K.K. performed “Space K.K.” for me and Rio. Far out, man.
• I’ve recently bred my first black tulips, so I’m saving them up for a D.I.Y. recipe I’ve never been able to craft.
• I helped Gulliver on Thursday, and he sent me a milkmaid hat yesterday.
• I haven’t been trying to make many snowboys this winter, but I did make a perfect one today. He’ll send me a gift in the mail.
