Campers, Tune, Snowman

On Sunday, Kitt the kangaroo was camping at the campsite. She was a villager I had in my GameCube town in the early days, so we go way back. But I wasn’t interested in having her here. 😛

Kitt: You're so lucky to live here! I know I want to make the most of my visit.

On Tuesday, I made a new town tune for the first time in a long time. It’s the banana fairy theme from Donkey Kong 64.

My town tune for the banana fairy theme from Donkey Kong 64.

If you’d like to hear how it sounds in-game, try this:

Snow now covers the island, and I rolled up my first snowboy of the season on Tuesday.

Snowboy: I...I can't believe it! You got everything right!

He sent me a frozen-treat set in the mail.

Yesterday, I had another camper: Chabwick the penguin. Even though he certainly would fit in the snow outside now, I did not invite him to town.

Chabwick: I'm on a camping trip, trying to meet good food.

I ran into Pascal while diving, and he was talking about a tail wagging a dog. It must be a strong tail.

Pascal: You ever heard of the tail wagging the dog? There's no way, maaan. I've done the math.

Today, Louie told me he was going to go to my house for a surprise visit. But I don’t like surprises, so I cancelled his plans for him.

Louie: Oooooh, denied. I get it, I get it. Maybe my timing is off.

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • Last Friday, Gullivarrr sent me a pirate beard in the mail.
  • I sold over 575k worth of fish to C.J. the same day.
  • On Sunday, my savings balance reached 74 million bells.
  • I helped Gulliver on Tuesday, and he sent me a Dala horse.
  • Yesterday, I sold over 180k worth of bugs to Flick.

See you next time!

First Snow

Last Friday, I found a lost item on the ground, and Midge told me it belonged to Bob. She said he was looking for it in the sky!

Midge: Come to think of it, I did hear Bob was looking for a lost item, in the sky...

That made me picture Bob in a hot-air balloon, looking into treetops for his book. 😛 When I returned it to him, he rewarded me with a samurai hakama (an outfit).

On Monday, Poncho the jock bear cub was camping at the campsite. He just moved out of my City Folk town last month, so I guess this is where he ended up. 😉 But I did not ask him to move to my island.

Poncho, at the campsite: Anyway, thanks for hosting me. This place is awesome!

Yesterday, I ran into Pascal while diving. He told me that someone said his shirt was inside-out, and he explained that he dresses for himself, not others.

Pascal: Folks kept tellin' me my shirt was on inside out the other day, but maaan, I was dressin' for me, not for them.

But the odd part is that he doesn’t even wear a shirt! (So what exactly was inside-out?) 😛

Xavier told me that his shop was buying turnips for 456 bells! 😲 The bad news is that I didn’t buy any turnips from Daisy Mae this week! 😔 But I did have a measly 30 turnips from a hospital visit on Monday…and that alone gave me almost 14k! Thanks, Xavier!

Timmy: 30 turnips! Sure! How about if I offer you 13,680 bells?

And today, I saw the first snowflakes of the season! I’m not mentally prepared for winter yet. 😛

Snowflakes fall outside of the Forest museum.

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • I learned a new DIY recipe last week, for a dark tulip crown.
  • Last Friday, my savings balance reached 73 million bells.
  • Wisp gave me some kung-fu pants on Sunday.
  • I recovered Gullivarrr’s phone today. He’ll send me a reward tomorrow.

I posted a new video today, taking a look at some of the feel-good dialogue throughout the series. It’s basically the opposite of the “Rudeness” videos. Take a look!

3 Million Miles

Last Friday, I bought a treadmill at Nook’s Cranny because I didn’t have it in my catalog. That completed a Nook Miles+ goal (spending 5,000+ bells), and I have now topped 3 million miles!

3,000,030 Nook Miles

On Saturday night, I headed over to Logan’s island Moonscar for his Thanksgiving party. Alex was also there, and several other people started to join in…until we all got disconnected.

So Logan reopened, and we had to go through the lengthy process of everyone joining in all over again. 😆 We ended up with a full house: Logan, me, Alex, Matthew, Nicky, Jac, Jj, and MaryAnn. I took this photo of Logan’s turkey design, and mine…which I was wearing. (We joked that I ate Franklin, and the feather on my head was all that was left of him.)

Me, wearing a Franklin shirt, near a turkey flag that says YUM!

Logan had a Halloween vs. Christmas game (obstacle course, basically) and Alex and I tested it out. (I was Jack for Team Halloween, and Alex was a reindeer for Team Christmas). I made my way through and placed a pumpkin on my stool first, winning the test match.

Jeff-o'-Lantern winning the Halloween vs. Christmas game.

Logan (Halloween) then raced against Matthew (Christmas), and Matt won. I’ll include videos of both matches in my next Wi-Fi Moments video.

Next, we headed over to Logan’s house for some dinner. It took him a few tries to get the chairs lined up correctly, but we eventually got to enjoy a nice meal. 😛

After that, we hung out outside for a while. Yann had to leave, and Jesse joined in. Jac also left a few minutes later. The rest of us enjoyed a K.K. Slider performance of “Drivin’.”

We were about to start a round of group stretching, but someone left (Nicky, apparently), so it sent us back to the airport. Logan then ended the session.

Almost ready to start... Looks like someone quietly left.

Yesterday, Label wanted to see me in an “everyday” outfit again. She gave me a tight-knit sweater, and I put it on. I also added some worn-out jeans and a denim cap to complete the look. Label rewarded me with a Labelle dress.

Today, I ran into Pascal while I was diving. I gave him a scallop, and he started talking about dentists in airports! I’m just impressed that I’m still seeing new dialogue from him nearly four years after this game’s release.

Pascal: Dentists should set up shop at airports. Quick teeth cleaning before a flight? Why not, maaan.

A few other quick notes about the past week:

  • I helped Gulliver last Friday, and he sent me a coin headpiece on Saturday.
  • K.K. Slider played K.K. Soul for me and Midge in Forest.
  • I got a new D.I.Y. recipe for a tree’s bounty big tree from a balloon present.

See you all next time!
