Back Rub & Bad Rhino

Crazy Redd was in town today, and he had this quaint painting for sale. I made the mistake of not checking to see if there was already one in the museum. Hint: There is. So I bought it, wasting 3,920 bells in the process.

Redd: A quaint painting! Cousin, you've got incredible taste! Ol' Redd is in awe!It actually turned out to be fake anyway. Just for fun, here’s a picture of me leaving Crazy Redd’s tent. 😛

When I spoke to Rod, he told me he was impressed by the size of my house. He even asked whose back I had to rub to get a dream home like that. Hey, what are you implying?!

Rod: Whose back did you have to rub to make that dream come true?
None of your business! That’s between me and Tom Nook.

On the bulletin board, there was a new message of the week. I thought it was pretty amusing this week. 🙂

*Message of the Week* Home is where the heart is. Home is the rib cage.I visited Baabara, and she was talking about her all-new makeup. She said she bought so much of the latest blush by Nintendique that they gave her a free trash can. She then gave the trash can to me. How exciting.

Baabara: I got so much they gave me a trash can. Here, you can have it!
Doesn’t it look like she’s holding it in her mouth? Good dog.

Back outside, I was about to catch a bug that was on a tree. But then Rhonda came over, went right up to it, and scared it away! Bad rhino!

Hopper falls into a pitfall that was meant for Rhonda in ACWW.I then spent some time fishing and bug-catching. I didn’t catch anything new, but I did snag some valuable bugs. Unfortunately, Nookington’s closed before I could sell them all. With only 23,000 bells in my pockets, I didn’t bother making a mortgage payment this time. But I should be able to make a fairly big payment next time, once I sell all the stuff in my pockets.

My First Fireworks Festival

The first fireworks festival of the year was held tonight, and the animals in town were quite excited for the event.

Big Top: Whoa! Fireworks! FIREWORKS! The fireworks of summer are here at last!Fireworks appear up in the sky, and they display on the top screen.

Static: I've gotta do something to thank you for nursin' me back to my cranky self.Just as in City Folk, Tortimer will be standing outside of town hall. He hands out sparklers and roman candles.

Tortimer: A sparkler! Now scamper on, you little beastie! As I used my first sparkler, Kiki and Puddles walked right on by. Kiki seemed to walk right into the sparks. 😛

Watch where you’re going!

Hopper told me that he saw Rod and Baabara in the Roost together, sharing the same cup of soda water.

Hopper: They were sharing the same cup of soda water with two straws! He said it was nauseating! 😀

Hopper: It was so nauseating!Speaking of the Roost, I went there myself to catch some live music. K.K. Slider performed Steep Hill for me. One of my favorites!

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Steep Hill!I went around catching some bugs and fish, but I didn’t find any new ones tonight. That ends my streak, but that’s alright. The fireworks were enjoyable to watch. I wrapped up my night by making a 35,000 bell mortgage payment at town hall.

Tarantula & New Art

Tonight, Kiki reminded me that the fireworks festival is coming up on Saturday night. I’ll try to check them out. City Folk and New Leaf have fireworks on Sundays in August instead of Saturdays, so it’s kind of good that they’re not all on the same nights.

Kiki: Saturday marks the start of Forest's annual fireworks show!
I’m sure it’ll be a blast!

Over the past month, I’ve been fortunate enough to catch a new bug and/or fish each time I’ve played. And that trend has continued, as I caught my first tarantula tonight!

Catching my first tarantula in Animal Crossing: Wild World for Nintendo DS.I caught a tarantula! Don't try this at home!Crazy Redd was in town today, and I bought this common painting from him for 3,920 bells.

Redd: You like it? You like that common painting? Hee hee hee!A new message of the week was posted on the bulletin board. Apparently, genius smells terrible. 😛

*Message of the Week* Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Genius smells terrible. There was also a new “Talking to Myself” post. It looks like somebody is using the bulletin board to try to get a date. 😛

-Talking to Myself- I work very hard, but I also enjoy my free time! I'm young, cute, and single! Hint, hint!Static was still sick, so I took him some medicine yet again. But he needs to get himself together. I’m not going to take care of him forever. 😛

At the museum, I donated my tarantula…and also my common painting. That’s right, it was the real deal! 🙂

Once I was done making my rounds, I started catching more bugs and fish. I was able to catch a scorpion. It’s pretty rare for me to catch a tarantula and scorpion in an Animal Crossing game on the same night! I already had a scorpion in my museum though, so I was able to sell this one for 8,000 bells.

But other than that, I wasn’t having as much luck with rare catches as I did last time. But I was able to make a 50,000 bell mortgage payment at town hall before wrapping up my game for the night.

I’ll be back with another entry on Saturday night, with my first Wild World fireworks festival. See you then!
