Acorn Festival 2026

I received a letter from Mom in the mail today, telling me about her haircut. She said I used to call her “mushroom head” when I was little. 😛

Dear Jeff, Remember when I got that bob and you kept calling me mushroom head? I got another bob. -Mom

The Acorn Festival is being held this week, and many acorns are scattered around town.

Acorns scattered on the ground, near trees.

Cornimer stands outside of town hall, and he gives out mush furniture in exchange for acorns.

Cornimer: Allow me to introduce myself! I am the mysterious Cornimer! Ooh! MEESTEERIOUS!

He also uses the acorns to predict the future, and he gave me this fortune. However, it seemed very vague this year.

Your secret fortune: Giant Acorn. Life: Do as you like. Hopes: It's in the air! Karma: You'll improve. Look behind you!

Chief noticed the acorns in my pockets, and he asked me for one of them!

Chief: Those look like some tasty acorns you got there, on a pig. Gimme one!

That was a bit surprising, considering he just said acorns were “boring little brown nuggets” last week! But I gave him a rotten one, and he didn’t seem to mind it. In return, he gave me a pitfall seed.

Chief: Tell you what. Here's a pitfall seed in return!

I continued gathering up acorns and giving them to Cornimer, except for the rotten ones of course. In all, I gave him 147 acorns!

Cornimer: The number of acorns you've given me is 147!

That total is a bit perplexing, because I’ve only been getting around 100 acorns in recent years. And I don’t recall adding any trees since then. Maybe I had fewer rotten acorns than in previous years? But I still had a lot of rotten ones, so I’m not sure that explains it either. Well, I guess acorns really are mysterious after all. 😉

Cornimer did give me nine pieces of mush furniture for all those acorns though, and I sold them for 20,600 bells. I think I’ve said this before, but that reward really isn’t worth the effort. Cleaning up 150+ acorns and sorting out the bad ones is a lot of tedious work. For that reason, I don’t recommend playing more than once during Acorn Festival week, unless you’re trying to get the complete mush set.

Did any of you participate in the event? If so, let me know how many acorns you found! And I’ll be back with another entry next week.

Unworthy Nuggets

Saharah was in town yesterday, and she asked me to deliver a carpet to Mabel and some wallpaper to Blathers.

Blathers: Hoo! Indeed, hootie hoo! I shall hazard a guess... From Saharah, eh wot?

Saharah then rewarded me with a tropical vista.

Chief let me know that the Acorn Festival is coming up next week (starting on Monday). But he said acorns are just boring brown nuggets on a pig!

Chief: But if ya ask me, acorns are just boring little brown nuggets, on a pig.

He said they’re not worthy of having their own festival. Wow, who knew Chief was such an acorn hater?

Chief: They're definitely not worthy of their own festival, that's for sure!

I played again today, and it’s Flea Market day. Derwin said that he’s never been in Pippy’s house…

Derwin: Pippy is the only resident whose house I still haven't been inside.

But he said that’s going to change today!

Derwin: But all that's gonna change today, derrrr!

I visited Maple’s house and I asked about her baby bear (just out of curiosity). She again was willing to sell her baby bear, for just 200 bells this time! But I didn’t want to separate her from her baby again, so I declined the offer. She was disappointed that I didn’t buy her baby. 😆

Maple: Oh... That's a bummer.

Angus had two rocking chairs, so I asked about them both. I was curious to see if he wanted the same price for both of them…and he did. They were each 630 bells, but I didn’t buy either of them.

Before wrapping up my night (and week), I went over to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. He performed “K.K. Safari” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Safari!

Earlier this week, I posted my latest video episode. Here it is if you haven’t seen it yet:
