I received a letter from Mom in the mail today, telling me about her haircut. She said I used to call her “mushroom head” when I was little. 😛

The Acorn Festival is being held this week, and many acorns are scattered around town.

Cornimer stands outside of town hall, and he gives out mush furniture in exchange for acorns.

He also uses the acorns to predict the future, and he gave me this fortune. However, it seemed very vague this year.

Chief noticed the acorns in my pockets, and he asked me for one of them!

That was a bit surprising, considering he just said acorns were “boring little brown nuggets” last week! But I gave him a rotten one, and he didn’t seem to mind it. In return, he gave me a pitfall seed.

I continued gathering up acorns and giving them to Cornimer, except for the rotten ones of course. In all, I gave him 147 acorns!

That total is a bit perplexing, because I’ve only been getting around 100 acorns in recent years. And I don’t recall adding any trees since then. Maybe I had fewer rotten acorns than in previous years? But I still had a lot of rotten ones, so I’m not sure that explains it either. Well, I guess acorns really are mysterious after all. 😉
Cornimer did give me nine pieces of mush furniture for all those acorns though, and I sold them for 20,600 bells. I think I’ve said this before, but that reward really isn’t worth the effort. Cleaning up 150+ acorns and sorting out the bad ones is a lot of tedious work. For that reason, I don’t recommend playing more than once during Acorn Festival week, unless you’re trying to get the complete mush set.
Did any of you participate in the event? If so, let me know how many acorns you found! And I’ll be back with another entry next week.
