As I started up the game this afternoon, Lyle was bugging me to fill out another questionnaire. I was not interested, so I told him I was busy and went on my way.
So I headed over to Nookington’s to sell everything in my pockets from last time. I then noticed that Tom Nook had some new dialogue for me. He said even though he was born in Forest, he spent part of his life in the big city. While there, he had to endure some hardships that he hasn’t spoken of before.
But he didn’t want to go into any more detail just yet. Perhaps he’ll save that for a future discussion.
Outside, Kiki was talking about the crawfish, and how it’s in season now. She even told me how to catch one.
I thought she was asking me for one, so I went and caught one. But when I returned to her, she wanted to race to see who could catch an eel first. Ugh, whatever. Well, Big Top was asking me for a crawfish, so I gave it to him. He gave me a ranch bed in return.
I still went on and caught an eel for Kiki. She gave me a brown drum for it.
I found a note in a bottle on the beach, which is the first one I’ve seen lately. Inside, I found a note from…my conscience? 😛
I caught a new bug today: the walker cicada!
As I entered Static’s house, I spotted another bug I needed. It was an orchid mantis on a flower outside his house. Of course, it was gone by the time I came back outside, and I didn’t find another one today. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that in the future.
Rod was all packed up and ready to move out of town. I kept talking to him to tell him to stay, and eventually he said he lost his passport. That’s the same thing that Bill said to me last October, and he stayed, so I think Rod is safe for now.
I’m not sure why, but Hopper told me I was snail-like.

I donated the walker cicada to the museum, sold some stuff, and then did some fishing and bug-hunting. I kept going until I had 100,000 bells to put towards my mortgage. After paying it, I now only owe 20,000 more bells! I should be able to do that next time.
Later on, I returned to the game to see a bit of the fireworks festival.
I had a chat with Tortimer over by town hall, and he was acting a bit strange. 😛
After I got a roman candle and a sparkler from him, he offered to give me my fortune. I wasn’t expecting that. But I accepted it, and this is what it said:
After setting off my roman candle, I made my way over to the Roost. There, K.K. Slider performed The K. Funk for me.

It actually turned out to be fake anyway. Just for fun, here’s a picture of me leaving Crazy Redd’s tent. 😛

I visited Baabara, and she was talking about her all-new makeup. She said she bought so much of the latest blush by Nintendique that they gave her a free trash can. She then gave the trash can to me. How exciting.
So I buried a pitfall seed for Rhonda and started to push her towards it. But Hopper was also nearby, and he walked right into it!
I then spent some time fishing and bug-catching. I didn’t catch anything new, but I did snag some valuable bugs. Unfortunately, Nookington’s closed before I could sell them all. With only 23,000 bells in my pockets, I didn’t bother making a mortgage payment this time. But I should be able to make a fairly big payment next time, once I sell all the stuff in my pockets.
Fireworks appear up in the sky, and they display on the top screen.
When I visited Static, he was finally over his cold. He thanked me for the medicine I’ve been taking him lately, and then he rewarded me with a regal sofa.
Just as in City Folk, Tortimer will be standing outside of town hall. He hands out sparklers and roman candles.
As I used my first sparkler, Kiki and Puddles walked right on by. Kiki seemed to walk right into the sparks. 😛
He said it was nauseating! 😀
Speaking of the Roost, I went there myself to catch some live music. K.K. Slider performed Steep Hill for me. One of my favorites!
I went around catching some bugs and fish, but I didn’t find any new ones tonight. That ends my streak, but that’s alright. The fireworks were enjoyable to watch. I wrapped up my night by making a 35,000 bell mortgage payment at town hall.
