Shortly before 11:00, I started up the game and quickly made my way over to Nook’s shop. There it was: The newly upgraded Nookington’s!
Today was the department store’s grand opening! Tom Nook welcomed me in.
Not only is there a second floor full of merchandise, but there’s a new hair salon on the first floor too. This was the first appearance of Shampoodle!
I didn’t get a haircut today, but I still went inside to take a look and meet Harriet, the stylist. She told me that she’s like a fairy godmother that can make my follicle fantasies come true.
I may get my hair styled another day, but for now, I just wanted to take a look around Nookington’s. The second floor looked much like it does on GameCube, but it has additional furniture along the south wall, where the GameCube game has clothing.
Before I could decide if I wanted to buy anything or not, the clock struck 11 o’clock, and Timmy and Tommy rudely forced me out.
As you may know, the original DS version of Animal Crossing: Wild World required that a player from another town had to shop at your store before you could upgrade to Nookington’s. Fortunately, that requirement has been removed from the Virtual Console version on Wii U. So that’s why I was able to unlock Nookington’s even though there’s no online play.
Anyway, I then resumed my normal walk around town. Static was all packed up in boxes, ready to move out of town! That was not acceptable, so I kept talking to him until I got him to reconsider.
A message posted on the bulletin board complained about an unrealistic movie in which two hedgehogs fall in love. This seems like something Phyllis would write.
The flea market was held today, where you can (try to) buy furniture from your villagers, and they may want to buy some from you. Moe welcomed me to his market, but he refused to sell me his skeleton! I have a bone to pick with him now. What are you scared of? Don’t be so spineless.
I then headed over the Roost to check out some live music. K.K. performed K.K. Dixie for me (and gave me the aircheck). Next, I went to town hall, where I found a turntable in the recycle bin.
I was about done playing, but I wanted to put my new song in my stereo at home. But as soon as I entered my house, Baabara barged in! She asked about buying my outdoor bath, and I told her she could have it for just 9,999,999 bells. That’s my special price just for Baabara. 😉 She declined the offer.

I didn’t want to wait around, so I just ended my game. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone!

So…I vandalized her car. Don’t try this at home.
The bulletin board nearby had an interesting notice: Bright Nights start next Monday! This will be a new event for me, and it already sounds more interesting than
I found a new house in town, and I went inside to see who my new neighbor was. Turns out, it’s Moe the blue cat. I’ve never been a big fan of Moe; his eyes are so huge that they kind of creep me out.
I did a little fishing with the intention of earning some extra bells. But to my surprise, I caught some new fish that I apparently hadn’t caught before! One after another, I caught a pond smelt, a squid, a sea butterfly, and a bitterling. I promptly donated them all to the museum.
The upstairs room is 6 spaces by 6 six spaces. I don’t even know what I’m going to do with the extra space, but it’s good to have it.
I found Pudge’s goodbye letter in my mailbox. So long, little guy.
As I dug holes around a rock to check for the daily money rock, I noticed a snowball rolling towards me. Then I realized I hadn’t caught a dung beetle yet…so this was my chance! I got my net out and gave it a swing…success!
Static was outside today, and he started laughing when I spoke to him. I asked what was so funny, and he said he saw Baabara fall over! 😀
In Nookway, Tom Nook asked how I was enjoying my new three-story house (he’s counting the attic too).
He then delivered the bad news: I now owe him 598,000 bells. That’s going to take me a while to pay off.
While I was there, I also donated a tricera torso (which completed the triceratops), and I caught some live music down in the Roost. K.K. Tango was tonight’s random song.
I made my way over to town hall, and I found a billiard table in the recycle bin. I think this was the first time I’ve actually found an item in there! Anyway, I paid 25,000 bells towards my new mortgage before heading home for the night.
