Bunnie Bounced

Yesterday, I checked my mail and found a letter from Bunnie. At first, I thought maybe it was a valentine. However, it was definitely not a love letter…it was a goodbye letter. Bunnie bounced out of town, without warning. 🙁

Um, like, hi, Jeff, Thanks for being so nice to me in Forest! I'll cherish our memories forever! TOTALLY FOREVER! -Sincerely, Bunnie

When I spoke with Roscoe, he told me that Tom Nook always looks so spaced out. 😂 I love when villagers say insulting things about special characters. 😛

Roscoe: Nook always looks so spaced out, even when he's at the shop, in a barn!

I played again today, and there was already a new house in town! Inside, I found Hugh the blue pig.

Hugh: Huh huh huh! That's why everyone calls me Hugh the Romantic.

Hugh is a villager that I haven’t seen much in the series. I’ve had him in my GameCube game for a brief stay in 2018, and I think that’s about it. Well, now I’ll get a chance to know him a little better.

Deena has been sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine yesterday and today. Get well soon, ducky!

Nookington’s had a spotlight product today: a throne. Even though Timmy told me it was a bargain at just 640,000 bells, I didn’t buy it. I just hate spending that kind of money, especially in the older games. That’s like a few months’ earnings for one item.

Timmy: It's a bargain at 640,000 bells!

As I started to write this blog entry, I let my character stand outside. It was a clear night, so I was hoping to catch a shooting star as I typed. 😛 But after a little while, I heard a different sound effect: A ping. Snake pinged me to give me his photo! 😮

Snake: Here! It's my photo! Awesome, huh, bunyip?

I was surprised, because it seems like I haven’t even talked to him very much. I’ve kinda been ignoring most of his requests, too. 😛 But I’ll still accept the pic. I took it home to take a look at it. His favorite quote is “Snake’s number one!”

Quote on Snake's pic: Snake's number one!

I wasn’t sure what to do with it though, so I ended up putting it on the floor in my mush furniture room. It’ll probably end up in storage eventually, because I don’t have much room in my house.

That’s all I have for tonight, but I’ll see you all next time.

Bright Nights 2022

Bright Nights week began on Monday. It’s the time of year where villagers decorate their houses with colored lights. There are also festive lights on many cedar trees around town.

Roscoe: People get into decorating their houses during Bright Nights, in a barn.

Bunnie’s house had three decorated trees nearby, even though I couldn’t get them all on-screen at once. 😛

I voted for her house as the best one in town, and Tortimer seemed to agree with my choice.

Tortimer: Bunnie, huh? You have a very good eye there, guppy!

Word of my vote got back to Bunnie, and she was really happy about it. 🙂

Bunnie: I know! You must have voted for me!

I played again tonight, but I decided to vote for Deena’s house this time.

When I visited Cyrano, he told me that he recently had a cockroach on the tip of his nose! 😮

Cyrano: The other night I woke up and found one right here on the tip of my nose.

He was grossed out, but I’m not sure why. He eats insects, after all. Having one appear on the tip of your nose is like getting a free meal you don’t have to work for. Just suck it down! 😛

Bright Nights runs for the rest of the week (through Sunday night). Wild World is the only Animal Crossing game that has the event…and the only game that has decorated houses, so this is a good time to pick up your DS and check in on your town. 🙂

Tortimer: Snow, do your best! Mayor, beat your chest!

See you all next time! Happy Bright Nights!

Meteor Shower, Olivia’s Party

Last week, Wishy sent me a deluxe washer in the mail.

Until recently, I wasn’t entirely sure that Wild World had proper meteor showers. Yes, I have seen a shooting star on random clear nights, but they were typically isolated incidents. But on Tuesday, I saw FIVE shooting stars during a 15-minute play session. I’d say that qualifies as a meteor shower. I wished on three of them, even though you only need to wish on one to get a letter from Wishy.

Over by town hall, Bunnie asked Bob when Tom Nook’s birthday was, and Bob said it was on the 28th. Bunnie asked if I knew when it was, and I said yes…because Bob just said it. Bob then acted surprised that I cared so much(?), and he said he wished his brother was like me.

Bob: I wish my brother was like you, sunshine... Sniff...

I’m guessing Bob’s brother forgot his birthday? The whole thing was actually a bit confusing. Perhaps it wasn’t the best-written bit of dialogue.

Yesterday, I received my latest reward from Wishy. It was another deluxe washer! I wish Wishy would give me some art instead! Or at least something different! 😛

Today (February 3rd) is Olivia’s birthday, and I attended her party. Bob was also there, and Olivia was excited as I handed her a gift…

Olivia: Huh? Really? I'm so excited! It's a lie!

I gave her a doghouse that I found in the lost and found. 😂 She called it an interesting choice, which sounded sarcastic even before she said that was a lie. I don’t know what to believe! 😛

Olivia: You've made such an interesting choice for me, it's a lie!
She gave me a pine bonsai in return.

Bunnie has been sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine yesterday and then again today.

Peanut asked me to buy her rose wall for 2,410 bells, and I declined the offer. She wasn’t happy about that, and she told me I’m never going to get anywhere in life.

Peanut: Y'know, with that kind of attitude, you're NEVER going to get anywhere in life!
So paying high prices for things I don’t want is the key to success? You’re nuts!

Pascal was in town, so I gave him my last remaining scallop. He gave me another golden axe. I don’t really need it, but oh well. 😛 🤷‍♂️
