Tiny Bubbles

Saharah was in town today, asking for 3,000 bells for new carpet and wallpaper.

Saharah: I am called Saharah, for that is my name. I come from faraway land. She took my money and redecorated my main room. She installed a cabin wall and kiddie carpet.

A cabin wall and kiddie carpet that Saharah installed in my house.I quickly returned my room to the way it was. Outside, Big Top told me how he was tired from all the relaxing he did today.

Big Top: Yaaaaawn. I sure am tired from all the relaxing I did today, peanut.
Sounds like a nice problem to have.

And at 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Wendy and Daisy came over to visit. I asked for someone to watch a movie with me, and Daisy came over and we sat in my underground seats. We watched Lyle in The Happy Homes of Horror.

Daisy in Jeff in holes, being forced to watch Lyle on the video screen PWP.We sat on the yellow bench at the park, doing the Shrunk Funk Shuffle. We’re derpy and we know it.

Wendy and Jeff looking derpy as they dance the Shrunk Funk Shuffle while sitting on a yellow bench. After a disconnection (one of several we had throughout the night), Daisy returned with bubble wands for us. Thanks, Daisy!

Wendy, Jeff, and Daisy blowing bubbles with our bubble wands. After some merging and sliding by the train tracks, we headed down towards the dock. But first, Daisy let us know that she trapped “Cranberry” (Canberra) on the edge of the river. Since Cranberry smells pretty rotten, we decided to give her a bubble bath.

Giving Canberra a bath by blowing bubbles on her.Of course the bubbles won’t reach all of her nooks and crannies, but hopefully it will remove some of the stench. After a rinse, we put her in the dryer on “fluff.” We then went down to the island, where we did a gardening tour. We had to fill the designated area with white flowers.

Celebrating a successful gardening tour surrounded by white flowers. We earned a gold Tortimer award and eight medals. After that, we did some bug-catching and fishing. I believe I had three sharks in addition to the bugs I caught. I was almost ready to return to Forest when Daisy went on BRB. And then it happened. We disconnected. We lost all of our catches. So infuriating.

The lack of a save feature on the island is one of the biggest flaws with New Leaf. Yeah, I know going on a tour saves the game, but sometimes you don’t want to play a tour. And if someone is on BRB, you can’t do it anyway. The host should have the ability to save the game, period. Going to the island on Wi-Fi is risky business.

After that, I didn’t feel like reopening my gate so I ended my game for the night. I’ll be back with more tomorrow. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Teddy’s Birthday

Today, Kidd was telling me about things that can appear in the sky. Like the rolling clouds in summer, the northern lights in winter, and…Superman?

Kidd: Once, I thought I saw a guy flying around up there, fighting crime! Turned out it was just Pete. Heh.And Rolf was telling me he wanted to dig some tunnels, because digging holes is in a man’s nature. There are so many poorly chosen words in that sentence. For one thing, digging holes sounds like something that would be in a dog’s nature. And Rolf isn’t a dog or a man, he’s a tiger. So I’m all sorts of confused.

Rolf: It's in a man's nature to dig holes! I wanna dig some secret tunnels!Meanwhile, Canberra asked me how her clothes looked on her. I chose the “…” option, and she took that to mean I was staring at her. Uhh, I don’t think so.

Canberra: Heh heh! Now you're staring at me. I'm sexy!Over by town hall, Tabby asked me why I was holding a shovel. She asked if it was because I was going to dig a bunch of pitfalls. I hadn’t been planning on it, but that’s a great idea!

Tabby: What's up with the shovel? Ooh, are you going to dig a bunch of pitfalls or something? So I did. Since it was her idea, I decided to let Tabby enjoy it firsthand.

Tabby: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Who in the WORLD dug a pitfall right here where I was walking?!Despite my kindness, she was in a bad mood. She’s so unappreciative.

Tabby: I am in the WORST MOOD EVER! If you know what's good for you, you'll walk away now, killer!
Did you hear that, everyone? Tabby is threatening me!

I decided to escape her negativity and head on over to Teddy’s house. It’s Teddy’s birthday today! Aurora was helping him celebrate.

Aurora helping celebrate Teddy's birthday.Teddy thanked me for coming, and I gave him my ruby polka-dot sofa as a birthday present.

Teddy: Oh, wow! This is a really nice polka-dot sofa!He said days like this make him appreciate his bros and ladybros. Uhh, whatever you say.

Teddy: Days like this really make me appreciate all my bros and ladybros!Once I left Teddy’s birthday party, I saw Canberra again. She told me to take a cactus off of her hands. Too bad she meant it figuratively, not literally. I would have enjoyed seeing a cactus stuck to her. 😀

Canberra: Hey... So this is sudden, but can you take my tall cactus off my hands?I then finished up my day by doing my shopping on Main Street. I’ll be back with more tomorrow. 🙂

Zen Bell

Last night, Wendy came over briefly to shop. We noticed that her bunny balloon passed right through the awning of the Able Sisters’ shop. If you look at it the right way, it almost looks like a smiley face.

Wendy's bunny balloon going through the awning of Able Sisters, making a smiley face.Today, it was raining in town. Aurora told me she was going to move out on the 29th of this month! No way! I made her stay.

Aurora: OK, the move is off! You're right. I just can't picture a new life without my old friends in it!I talked to Molly, and she said something very strange. She said that a sea bass is the most beautiful fish in the world! She must have been feeling sick or something. But she asked me to catch a sea bass for her, so I agreed to help.

Molly: The other day, I saw a picture of a sea bass. It's the most beautiful fish in the world!I went into the police station to ask Copper what was going on in town. He told me that a stylish giraffe was at the event plaza. That means Gracie’s here! I also took a look at some items in the lost and found, and I took this gray tartan tee. After being Mario for a while, I needed a change. So I think I’ll wear this for a while.

Trying on the gray tartan tee I got in the lost and found at the police station.I then made my way over to my brick bridge. And I saw that my new zen bell PWP is now completed! I have also updated my town page to include the zen bell.

My new zen bell PWP!After ringing the zen bell a few times, I made my way around to the event plaza. Gracie was there, and she was demanding an ornate look for her fashion check today.

Gracie, telling me today's theme for the fashion check: Absolutely ornate!I checked my list of clothing I have in storage and I got a bit worried. I only had two ornate items, a noble shirt and royal shorts.  And I know that Gracie’s fashion checks require an accessory and shoes. So I went up to Main Street to see if the Able Sisters or Kicks had any ornate items for sale today. They didn’t. But I bought a knight’s helmet anyway. It was worth a try, I figured. I kept my usual socks and shoes on (dress socks and black loafers). I returned to Gracie, and she wasn’t exactly thrilled with my outfit. But still, she reluctantly passed me!

Gracie: I suppose you did your best, honey. And for that, I'll be kind enough to let you pass for today! She rewarded me by giving me this cyan argyle shirt:

Trying on the cyan argyle shirt I got from Gracie. This is my second passed fashion check, and I only need two more to get the final store expansion. I hope she returns again soon.

Today, I got a gem rock instead of a money rock. It included a ruby…so I thought I would try customizing a polka-dot sofa with the ruby. This is the final result, courtesy of Cyrus.

The polka-dot sofa customized with a ruby.I don’t plan on keeping it. I think I need to modify some furniture with emeralds instead. Unfortunately, the gem rock didn’t give me any emeralds today, but I’m going to do that next time.

As I walked along, Teddy “pinged” me from between the bamboo trees. He looked kind of creepy…I almost expected him to offer me candy. Instead, he offered me a security tee.

Teddy, peering through the bamboo: You're into stuff like this, right?I accepted his gift and quickly moved along. I saw Tabby, and she told me about how dumb she is. She wondered why it was so dark this morning, until she realized she went to sleep with her sunglasses on. I was not surprised that she would do something like that.

Tabby: I wore my sunglasses to bed. Dumb, right?
You said it.

As I wrapped up my time in Forest for the day, I remembered that I still needed a sea bass for Molly. So I went out to the ocean to catch it for her. Once I tracked Molly down again, I gave it to her and she rewarded me with a tan puffy vest. But the important thing is that I made her aquatic dreams come true. Even if they sound like aquatic nightmares to me.

Molly: Hey! You've made my aquatic dream come true!
