Today, I got my serene painting in the mail from Crazy Redd. And also, my basement was expanded to the full 8 x 8 size.
Soon after stepping outside, Rolf invited me over to his tree house.
After hanging out for a while, he eventually asked me if there was anything in his house I wanted. I headed straight to the basic painting. He sold it to me for 3,130 bells.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be a fake! I need to stop buying paintings from this guy! He’s done this before.
Note: As Benjamin pointed out to me in the old comment section, that basic painting was the one I gave Rolf for his birthday! So I should have remembered! Oops!
However, my serene painting from Crazy Redd was real. So that softened the blow.
After updating my dream town, Luna told me that Erika from Celadon recently enjoyed a dream visit. So if you’re reading this, Erika, hello!
In the Able Sisters’ shop, there was a purple-imp hood for sale. I’m trying to save clothes and accessories for Gracie’s fashion checks, and I needed a “flashy” hat to add to my collection. So I bought it.
Back in town, Molly asked me to catch a sweetfish for her. I did, and she gave me an A tee in return.
And my last stop of the day was Aurora’s house. I hadn’t seen her outdoors, so I went to say hello. But I kept hearing a cat meowing in her house. I wondered if it was something she was cooking for dinner. And I didn’t see a TV on, either. At least, not at first. But then I found it, up on the wall. It was a TV show with a cat chasing a mouse; it must be the Nintendo version of Tom & Jerry.

And outside by my house, a third black rose has appeared.
Crazy Redd’s tent was in town today, and I’m feeling pretty confident about this serene painting.
I fell into a pitfall in front of the video screen, so I had to suffer through an entire Tom Nook infomercial!
And Alli was all packed up and ready to go. So I made one last trip into her house to say goodbye.
And back outside, I ran into Rolf. He suggested a new public works project: a zen garden!
This is what it looks like:
I like it; I may install it sometime (but not right away).
And in T.I.Y., the Nooklings seemed to be serving lunch! But why was it sitting on the floor?
After finishing my shopping, I wrapped up my day in New Leaf. But I have a video to share with you all. It’s a slideshow featuring many of my best New Leaf pictures taken in the month of August. Check it out!
And this is what it looks like:
In a way, I kind of like it. It’s certainly festive.
She was a bit peeved after that.
Eventually, I made my way up to the Happy Homes Showcase. A new SpotPass home was there, belonging to Ray from Jojo. His main room was…interesting.
But the main reason I came was for the sleek room. Not so much to see it, but to order from it. I ordered the sleek wall, sleek dresser, and sleek closet.
I made a delivery to Alli, and just look at her face when she saw the banana I gave her!
And Gracie was over by the town tree, wanting to see an “official” look. I thought my cafe uniform might work, and I also put on my brown formal pants, dress socks, and tasseled loafers. But Gracie won’t judge you without an accessory on your head. I thought I would just try anything, just to see if she said everything else was acceptable. That “anything” was a yellow Pikmin, in fact. But to my absolute shock, she said I nailed the look!
That’s right, I passed the fashion check! How is a Pikmin head “official?” I don’t get it at all, but I’ll gladly take it. Here’s a better look at my outfit:
So now I’m 25% of the way to getting the final Nookling expansion. But she also gave me a sweets player as a reward. Even though I don’t care for the sweets furniture, I needed a small music player for my upstairs room anyway.
