Yesterday, I took inventory of the furniture in my sleek room to see if I had the complete set. It turns out I was two items short, so I went up to a former SpotPass home in the Happy Homes Showcase to order them; they arrived today. Now I should have the whole set.
Outside, Molly gave me a quick survey from a magazine and said I needed a book called Good Turnip, Rotten Turnip to be happy. Amazon doesn’t seem to have this book in stalk stock yet, but I’m sure it will turnip soon.
Teddy was talking about how you can wear wet suits to swim in the ocean. He felt bad because none of the wet suits available would fit him.
He then asked if he could come over to my house later. We agreed to meet up at 5:00. When the time came, he came in…and called me Mom?? I’m not the momma!
The top Happy Homes Academy rewards are triggered once you hit 150,000 HHA points. And that’s a new goal of mine now. That’s why I made sure I had the full sleek set earlier. It’s also why I plan on keeping the full creepy and spooky sets in my house for a while longer, even though Halloween is over.
I went up to see Lyle at Nook Homes to see my current score. As of this morning, it was 107,349 points.
It should definitely jump by tomorrow now that I’ll have the full sleek set, but I don’t know how much. But Lyle continued on, giving me some tips and telling me what helps. Apparently the picture of Molly (and presumably the other villager pics as well) gives me some bonus points.
He did warn me that the bonus only applies as long as I remain friends with that animal. So apparently if I start ignoring someone (Tabby?), I will lose that bonus. He also informed me that hard-to-find items will score higher, as will refurbished furniture. Good to know.
Luna informed me that Matthew from Hocotate was my most recent dream visitor. So hello to Matthew if you’re reading this!
I’ll leave you with one tip I’ve run across on some forums. This may be considered a slight spoiler about the harvest festival (Thanksgiving) for later this month, so you may want to skip the next paragraph if you don’t want to hear it.
Okay, here’s the tip. You know the mushrooms that you’re finding on the ground all month? You may want to save several of each kind in your storage. That’s because they will be used in recipes at the harvest festival. This is going to be quite different from the harvest festivals on GameCube and Wii. But start saving them up now if you want to do well at the festival.
Anyway, I did a little fishing and diving to try for more of the new November catches, but I didn’t score any tonight. Well, that’s all I have for today, but I hope to see you back here again soon. Thanks for reading!
Katrina was in town, so I went to see her. She told me that zap boots were the key to unlocking good fortune.
Near the river, I heard a mole cricket. So I started digging holes, and I found it on my third attempt. I switched to my net and just barely caught it before it could reach the river. The game makes a reference to Resetti when you catch it.
It was well after 8:00, so I went up to Club LOL to watch K.K. perform. I asked for a random song and he sang Señor K.K. for me.
In the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Lauren from Itaport was my most recent dream visitor. Hi Lauren!
Aurora hollered out for me while I was in there. I went to my main room and she came in to visit. After talking to her a couple times, she gave me an alpine bed for free.
While looking through my storage, I saw three gold nuggets. I took them to Cyrus and he turned them into a golden wall. It was an item I already had, but thanks anyway, I guess.
I went fishing for a few minutes and I caught my first blowfish.
I went up the museum to donate it. Oh hootie hoo, it’s a blowfish. Blathers and that fish should start up a band. I know the perfect name for it…
And up on the third floor, Gabi was hiding behind a sweets chair. She looked like she had seen a ghost. Or maybe her reflection.

This is what the autumn-leaf chair looks like:
Mushroom Season
I spoke with Big Top and he asked me to fetch Benedict for him. I was a bit surprised by that request, as I don’t recall anyone asking me to get someone else and bring them back before. But I found Benedict and had him follow me to Big Top’s house.
When we arrived, Benedict was a bit afraid that Big Top was going to chew him out.
But Big Top only wanted to return something he borrowed. Interesting. Why didn’t he just ask me to make the delivery? Maybe he doesn’t trust me. Is this because I
Benedict then left, and Big Top rewarded me with a modern wood lamp. After that, I headed over to the cafe to work a shift. An out-of-towner came in for coffee that I recognized quite well from my City Folk town: It was Avery!
After I was done working, I saw a tent at the campsite. I already have the maximum of ten villagers, so I was hoping nobody I really wanted was inside. Fortunately, the camper was Ed.
Back outside, I found out that–just like in City Folk–one mushroom each day will actually be a piece of mush furniture. Today, I plucked a mush closet.
Eventually, I returned to the Emporium. Rolf was in the gardening section, telling me he can relax when he’s surrounded by plants…up a tree.
Missed Opportunities
When I went back up the ramp, I saw Benedict over by the lighthouse. I heard the sound effect of a flea jumping on him, so I got my net out and caught it. He told me I could keep the flea as a present. Thanks, pal.
I then went diving in the ocean. After I caught a scallop, Pascal popped up and asked me for it. I agreed to give it to him, and he gave me a barrel in exchange.
While I was still out diving, I heard a balloon present flying overhead; it was a silver slingshot. But it was traveling out to sea, so I wasn’t able to shoot it down. All I could do was watch it sail on by.
