The Case of the Lost Item

While wearing my shamrock hat, I fell into a pitfall seed today. The hat completely blocks the view of my body, and I thought it looked a bit weird.

A shamrock hat stuck in a pitfall.I found a lost item not far from the train tracks. Hmm, who could this belong to? Detective McShamrock is on the case!

A lost item on the ground. When I went in the police station, there was an option to tell Copper about it. But he refused to help out. Maybe if there were donuts involved…

Copper: Citizen! I hate to ask, but you would be doing this town a great deed by searching for the owner in my place! So I went around asking every villager I could find. Big Top, Kidd, Agent S, Teddy, Molly, and Rolf all said it wasn’t theirs. Maybe I should dust it for paw prints…

Rolf: Nope, that's not mine. While I was on Main Street, I stopped to update my dream town. As for my most recent dream visitor? Well…I’ll let you see for yourself.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Butthead from Ugh enjoyed your dream.I also went up to Shampoodle to get my hair changed back to normal. I’ll have to change my eyes back another day.

Harriet: That'll be 3,000 bells, please! And when I went down to the beach, I found Nan. The lost item was hers; she said it contained an important recipe. Luckily for her, my drug-sniffing dog Booker was out chasing a criminal’s tail. So I’ll have to take Nan’s word for it.

Nan: Hey! This IS mine! She thanked me for returning it to her, and she rewarded me with a bamboo shoot. That’s all the reward I get? Shoot.

But Nan wasn’t the only animal on the beach: I also spotted Gulliver. I had to talk to him about 15 times before he woke up, but when he did, he made it clear he was heading to the United States of America.

Gulliver: I want to live out the real American Dream!I made my usual trip out to the island, and I was just about to end my game when Aurora asked me for a river fish. I caught a crucian carp for her, and I wasn’t sure if she liked it or not. But then she gave me a men’s toilet. I’ll take that a subtle hint to catch something better next time.

Aurora: It's a men's toilet.
