Bridge Out Ahead

When I resumed my game, I was still at the “set time” option. I was unable to exit out of that screen, so I entered the correct time. When I started the game up, Nan was gone. I’m guessing that trick I linked to yesterday only works if you keep the previous day/time instead of correcting it to the current time.

Anyway, I got Nan’s goodbye letter in the mail. She also attached her picture.

Nan's goodbye letter.Frank asked me for some fruit, and I gave him a perfect cherry. He enjoyed it and rewarded me with a seven lamp.

Frank: GAH! You actually went out and got me a perfect cherry?!I found a lost item by the police station, so I began asking around to see who it belonged to. I soon found out it was Kidd’s paper bag. If you drop a paper bag on the ground outside, that’s not a lost item. It’s called littering.

Kidd: This is...my paper bag, isn't it?!But it couldn’t just be a paper bag, right? There had to be something important inside. Well…sort of. It contained more paper bags!

Kidd: Inside of this paper bag...there are a lot more paper bags! It's a bag within a bag for max bagginess!Kidd gave me an orange to thank me for returning his precious bags.

Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me Sabian from Duckburg was my most recent dream visitor. And now that Nan is gone, that opens up a spot for another former villager to start appearing on Main Street. But for once, it’s a villager I actually liked: Alli!

Alli: This is why I love Forest. The shops, the people...all the hustle and bustle of Main Street!Wendy stopped over to sell some pears at Re-Tail, and she also did some shopping in my Emporium. Thanks to the night owl ordinance, the shops were actually open. But I’m wondering if she killed Franklin and took his hat.

Wendy shopping at the Emporium. And with 99.7% accuracy, I believe she bought a fortune cookie that contained a winning ticket for a Fi mask.

Wending wearing a Fi mask.We briefly went up to Club LOL, where Rory was shaking his lion butt.

Jeff: Lion buns.I then visited Pawnee and saw her paths.

The paths in Wendy's town of Pawnee.I also had the opportunity to look pure evil in the eye. Well…through sunglasses. But still.

Eugene: I'm Eugene. Umm...what's your name?Pawnee is starting to look really nice, but it still needs another bridge.

Jeff: BRIDGE IS OUT!That’s a serious safety violation. Someone could fall into the riv….AHHHHHH!!!

Jeff after falling into the river??Memorial services for Jeff will be held at town hall, where Isabelle will be handing out flipper-shaped sunglasses!

Nan’s Surprise Exit

As I started up the game this morning, Isabelle told me something I was not expecting to hear. She told me to say goodbye to Nan, because she’s all packed up and moving out! Normally when animals give you a moving date, that’s the date they will be packed up in boxes. But Nan told me she was moving on the 30th, and yet she was in boxes on the 29th!

Nan: I hope that somewhere, someday, we'll mett again, scapegoat.Eventually, I think I figured out the glitch that caused the problem. When Nan told me her moving date, I took a picture for that day’s blog entry. But when I looked at the date/time of that picture, I saw it was taken at 12:01 a.m. on June 25th–just after midnight. Animal Crossing days start at 6 a.m., while calendar days start at midnight.

The game apparently determined the moving date to be five days from that moment. In terms of Animal Crossing days, that was still the 24th. So that means Nan would move out on June 29th. But five days from that moment in terms of calendar days would be June 30th–the date Nan gave me as the moving date. So if an animal decides on a moving date after midnight, be careful–they may be moving out a day earlier than what they tell you.

I tried to get ahold of the-nice-cat, who I was planning on giving Nan to, but I wasn’t successful. But I’ll have more about that later on this entry.

In other news, Forest is now officially a Night Owl town again! I’ll actually be able to shop and sell things most days now!

~ Forest News ~ Forest has established the Night Owl ordinance!I tracked down Joan to buy some turnips. She was selling them for 109 bells each, and I bought 1,100 of them for a total of 119,900 bells.

Joan: So 1,100 turnips comes out to be... 119,900 bells altogether. Do you wanna buy them?I got a bunch of StreetPasses today, and that included a whopping six New Leaf houses in the Happy Homes Showcase.

Six StreetPassers in the Happy Homes Showcase!Mayor Brent from Beemo had this western-themed room. Surprisingly, I don’t recall seeing a western room in New Leaf before.

Brent's western-themed home. And Mayor Fish from Giha is clearly a big fan of My Little Pony.

My Little Pony designs in Fish's house. As for Nan, I knew of a tip from Leo’s cycling guide that can be used to prevent overnight voiding of a villager. Hopefully I can save Nan and the-nice-cat will be able to pick her up tomorrow. If it doesn’t work out for any reason, I hope that the-nice-cat will be able to forgive me.

I was unaware of this glitch where it reports the wrong moving date. Hopefully by me posting about it here, other people will be aware of it too. I’ll let you all know how it turns out in tomorrow’s blog entry, so I’ll see you then.

Kidd’s Birthday

It was raining again in Forest today. Since the rainy season is clearly here now, I decided to switch the town ordinance back to “night owl.” It will go into effect tomorrow.

Isabelle: Oh! So you want to sign the Night Owl ordinance into law?I updated my dream town, and Luna told me Baober from Bailiwik was my most recent dream visitor. I headed over to Tom’s town and I let him catalog my smoker. Aggie was also there. As for Tom, he was wearing his Tingle hood.

Tom41: Kooloolimpah!I also spoke with Marshal, and he thought I came over just to hear the latest gossip about Tom!

Marshal: You came to look for gossip about the mayor of Tomville, right?Tom and I were blowing bubbles at Aggie, who was away from her 3DS.

Blowing bubbles.Tom did some glitching, and he began swimming in mid-air.

Tom uses a glitch to swim in mid-air.His battery light turned red, so he quickly ended the party.

Back in Forest, I headed over to Kidd’s house. Today was his birthday, and Molly was there helping him celebrate. He asked if I brought him a present, and I gave him a customized ranch tea table. He obviously wasn’t very happy with it, although he said he neither liked nor disliked it.

Kidd: Uh, your gift isn't really something I like or dislike. I really have no strong opinion either way...And then he flat out said he wasn’t too wild about it. Thanks a lot.

Kidd: It's just that I'm not too wild about the ranch tea table! But aside from my present, he seemed to be enjoying his birthday. He was singing/whistling and dancing, as was Molly.

I went back outside, and Rolf told me that “rain falls on good peeps and bad.”

Rolf: Have you ever heard the phrase, "Rain falls on good peeps and bad?"Before I was done for the day, I headed up to Club LOL to catch a performance from K.K. See you all next time!
