The Bug-Off competition was held today and I went over to the dock basket to see which bugs I had stored there. I stuffed a bunch of them in my pockets and returned to Nat. I started out by giving him a horned dynastid.
It scored 68 points, which was enough to take over the top spot. He rewarded me by giving me a pendulum clock.
Another horned dynastid I gave him didn’t top the first one, so I gave him an emperor butterfly next. As I was giving him bugs, Drago came over to snoop investigate. I think he was getting hungry seeing all these tasty bugs.
The emperor butterfly scored 97 points, which became the new record. Nat gave me a piece of bug furniture this time, a beetle chair. I gave him about five more emperor butterflies, but none of them beat 97 points–that was quite unlucky. If I had given them in a different order, I could have scored several pieces of bug furniture for those same bugs.
I went back to my dock basket and reloaded my pockets with some other, more rare bugs. A horned atlas earned me 107 points, and Nat gave me a spiderweb clock. I gave Nat several other rare bugs, but none of them beat that horned atlas.
I then went inside Nat’s tent for the winners ceremony. Kidd got third place and Agent S finished 2nd with a 39-point fruit beetle. If a fruit beetle got 2nd place, my villagers must not have tried very hard!
And of course, my 107-point horned atlas won me the gold trophy.
I took my prizes up to a museum exhibit and put them on display for now. Here’s a look at the beetle chair, spiderweb clock, and pendulum clock. (The pendulum clock isn’t part of the bug set, of course).
And then later on, I went up to Club LOL to check out K.K.’s weekly performance. Tonight, he sang K.K. Steppe, which is a song I’ve liked since the GameCube game.

Outside of the Roost cafe, Kidd was doing something odd: He was watering my gold roses. Gold roses never wilt, so they don’t need to be watered. And yet he watered four of them in a row!
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me my most recent dream visitor was Angelus from Windhill.
I’ve played ACCF with MaryAnn (also known as Yann) many times, but this was my first time playing New Leaf with her; she just got the game this week. I started off by showing her my house and my emotions.
Before long, Ryan also came over to visit.
At one point, Ryan made a typo and said “mt” instead of “my.” So I jokingly asked what mt meant, and then we started making acronyms of what it could stand for.
We got a little carried away with it…
After the house tour was over, MaryAnn and I stopped in Rolf’s house for a snack.
I also introduced MaryAnn to my toy hammer.
And near my tulip topiary, I enjoyed a big cup of coffee.
It was a very clear summer night.
Ryan had to leave after a while, so MaryAnn and I went up to Main Street to do some shopping. We also went into Club LOL for some dancing.
The lights were reflecting off of Rory’s butt, which he kept wiggling from side to side. We think he was having a gas attack and just using his dance to disguise it. We even heard him crack a few, although he would probably try to blame it on the tootoids on stage.
We went for a swim and we did some diving as well.
I talked to Sprinkle, and she thinks she is the reason Forest had visitors tonight. Yeah, okay, sure… I felt like chopping her up and sprinkling her on some cupcakes. Ah, what a sweet revenge that would be.
At midnight, I ended the party for the night. Have a great weekend, everyone! And wb, Yann!
There was another camper at the campsite, and today it was Shari the ugly monkey. On days like this, I don’t mind having a full town.
Kidd asked me for some perfect fruit, and I gave him a perfect pear. He enjoyed it so much that he gave me his flying saucer. Wait, what?
I found my newest villager Sprinkle in Re-Tail later. I taught her town rule #1: Buy the mayor’s overpriced junk and don’t complain about the prices. She’s going to fit in just fine.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me Zachary from Juneau was my most recent dream visitor. And down on the beach, I found Gulliver. I determined that he was headed to the Netherlands, so he’ll be sending me a windmill from there in the mail tomorrow.
Tomorrow is also Friday Night Forest, so I’ll be back with another blog entry late tomorrow night.
