Today is the day of the harvest festival, also known as Thanksgiving. Aurora was quite excited about it.
Outside, Amelia was so busy eating that she would barely even speak to me.
But the third bird I spoke with is the star of the show: Franklin the turkey.
He doesn’t want anyone eating turkey for the festival, for obvious reasons. So instead, he’s here to cook some other food for everyone to pig out on. For each dish, Franklin requires three ingredients. In my town, he started out with a fruit salad. So I had to find some vinegar, an orange, and an apple for him.
Some of the villagers will be doing some cooking of their own. Invariably, they’ll be in need of a certain ingredient (usually a fish). Track down what they need and they’ll exchange it for another ingredient that you may need.
They will also tell you a secret ingredient to use for a dish to make it outstanding. For the fruit salad, I learned that the secret ingredient is honey (which you can get from a beehive).
Before long, I got all the ingredients I needed and Franklin was able to make the fruit salad.
Franklin gave me a fruit basket as a reward. The next dish was mushroom bisque, which required milk, a flat mushroom, and a round mushroom. The secret ingredient was butter. After it was done, Franklin gave me a harvest chair.
The main course was seared barred knifejaw. It required butter, a round mushroom, and of course, a barred knifejaw. The secret ingredient when cooking fish can be either vinegar or a lemon. I already have a lemon tree, so that was the easier choice for me. It turned out great!
Franklin rewarded me with a harvest rug this time. The last dish was the dessert: coconut tart. I had to collect sugar, a coconut, a lemon, and honey for the secret ingredient. It took me a few attempts to acquire the sugar, and I already had everything else. So we put it all together and voila! The feast is done, all ready to eat!
For getting all four dishes perfect (including the secret ingredients), Franklin gave me a cornucopia.
Here’s a look at my cornucopia and fruit basket on my table:
Since I didn’t clean up all my ingredients I left on the ground, I didn’t update my dream town tonight. But I still went up to the Dream Suite to check on my most recent dream visitor, and Luna told me it was Emma from Paradise.
I hope you all had a fun and successful harvest festival! And for those of you in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving!
I went down, but I caught Resetti at a bad time: He was about to use the toilet! He even mentioned some creamed corn…
He kept insisting that I leave, so I left him alone to attend to his…business.
Copper told me that Phineas was in town, so I was excited to get a new badge. Once I tracked him down, he gave me the Master Turnip Trader badge…that’s the gold one!
This was my first new badge in four months! My last one was the Dreamer Badge, which I got on
Even though I was originally planning on retiring from the turnip trade once I got my gold turnip badge, I think I’m going to keep at it for a while longer. The stalk market will also help me save 100 million bells for the billionaire badge.
But when I checked at the Dream Suite, a different dreamer was my most recent visitor: Kimo from Kaorie.
In Re-Tail, Reese was buying turnips for 319 bells each! So I sold my 3,200 turnips for a total of 1,020,800 bells. I actually lost money on the stalk market last week, so this turnip spike was a welcome surprise.
Meli came over to sell her turnips too.
She even left me a tip!
That’s twice as much as I gave her last time! 😀 Haha, but seriously, Meli and I help each other out with turnip prices, so no big tips are required. In fact, I refuse to accept big tips whenever anyone tries.
Sprinkle told me she had a dream of Suzu from Castor, who she said is a total flower fan. Luna would later confirm that Suzu was my most recent dream visitor.
Cesar the gorilla was camping out at the campsite today, and he wanted to play a game for my Dala horse. I had to choose one of four cards, and each card had a different bell amount on it. The price shown would be the price he paid me for the horse. I chose the heart card, and I heart the result! He had to pay me 2,305 bells!
