Forgotten Gift

Last Tuesday, Al showed up at the campsite. But I was not interested in this Donkey Kong-wannabe. (Louie is a better D.K. anyway.)

Al: You're from this town, aren't you?

On Friday, Boots asked me for some furniture. I ended up giving him a Mouth of Truth…one that he gave me last month!

Boots: Oh! A Mouth of Truth! This is so great, bro!

He didn’t seem to recognize it, and he seemed to love it. In fact, he gave me another copy of his photo to thank me.

The fireworks festival was held yesterday, and Isabelle gave me a bulb bopper to wear.

I walked over to the nearest bridge to get a nice unobstructed view of the fireworks.

Only New Leaf has these awesome heart-shaped fireworks. And look how this one lined up with the crescent moon. I ♥ it!

You can’t beat these.

Nibbles was camping at the campsite today, but she didn’t seem very excited about being in Forest.

Nibbles: I bet you weren't expecting to see super-stylish ME here! Actually, I wasn't expecting to be here either.
She was on the fence about visiting again.

Today is Rolf’s birthday, and I walked into Re-Tail with the intention of buying him a birthday present. But after I sold some stuff, encouraged a villager to buy some ore, and then displayed more ore for sale, Rolf’s gift completely slipped my mind.

I didn’t remember forgetting the gift until I walked into Rolf’s house, when it was already too late. I had no furniture in my pockets to give him, so I had to give him a work shirt that I found attached to a letter. He didn’t exactly seem thrilled with it.

Rolf: Oh, a work shirt? Well that's something I don't have a lot of experience with...

But I hope he had a good birthday regardless. At least Molly was also there to help him celebrate. Maybe she got him something better. 😛 But I didn’t stick around long; I ducked out of the party pretty quickly.

I tried using my shovel to eliminate some unwanted flowers…until I accidentally killed a golden rose. I grabbed a replacement from the beach, but my once-large collection of replacement gold roses is starting to dwindle down.

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Enrique from Sweetown and Lukas from Hannover. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you all next time!
