October Changes

I got Daisy’s goodbye letter in the mail today. She attached her picture to the letter too.

Daisy's goodbye letter.I also got my usual monthly letter from the post office, telling me I earned 99,999 bells in interest on my bank account.

Molly asked me for a butterfly, so I grabbed an emperor butterfly from my dock box. After I gave it to her, she said it looked like me!

Molly: Oh, an emperor butterfly! Nice! Hee hee hee. It actually kind of looks like you, li'l guy.She gave me some red tile (flooring) for my trouble.

During this first week of October, Jack can show up to explain (or remind) you how the Halloween festivities work in New Leaf. I actually didn’t find him in Forest tonight, but that may be because I didn’t start playing until after midnight. Still, Aurora mentioned the spooky pumpkin fellow.

Aurora: Brrr. What was that? Is it already time for that pumpkin fellow to visit town?

He can appear any day through October 7th, so I’m sure I’ll meet up with him soon. The side effect is that the game considers these days to be event days (even though Jack will only show up once), and you can’t work at the Roost again until the 8th.

The arrival of October brings other Halloween related changes, too. Able Sisters begin to sell the monster masks necessary for scaring our villagers on Halloween. I already have all six of them in storage though, so I’m good.

Labelle: The bug mask? Ooh, good choice! Also, the Nooklings begin selling spooky furniture and candy.

Timmy: Ah, a spooky table! A fine item, yes?Tommy: Ah, a candy! A fine item, yes?

Just a reminder that there are some Halloween QR Codes here on JVGS that you can use to get your town ready for Halloween. Do you enjoy this time of year? I know I do. 🙂

Anyway, Luna told me that Nacho from Eesti was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by!

Dog Gone

Yesterday, Pashmina told me she was sick recently. She needed medicine, but nobody took her any. Oops. I have a bad habit of only talking to animals that are outdoors, so I don’t always notice an animal is sick unless another villager tells me about them. Sorry, goat girl.

Pashmina: I had a fever and a cough, and I really needed some medicine!

I made sure to take a picture of my custom-design sign so you can see how it looks in the daylight.

My custom-design sign with the Cleveland Indians block C logo on it.I then made a dream visit to the futuristic, Star Fox themed town of Titania (dream address 4600-2642-5589). Patterns make it look like many of the town features are on tall towers that soar high above a futuristic city. It has a 3D look to it, and it’s very unique…and amazing, in my opinion.

An illuminated arch and illuminated trees in the futuristic town of Titania. Some parts of town are more down-to-Earth however…but still just as beautiful.

Flowers and a rainbow in the dream town of Titania.I wrote up a full Dream Suite Adventure of the town, and you can see it here: Titania. So check it out for many more pics, including some of the references to the Star Fox series. It’s a great dream to visit!

As for my dream town, Luna told me that Essie from Leaftown was my recent visitor.

And of course, today was Daisy’s last day in town. So I made sure to say goodbye to her. It is sad to see her go…but maybe our paths will cross again someday. Good luck, Daisy.

Daisy: I've finally got all my stuff boxed up. I have way too many books...I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow, so I’ll see you then. Enjoy your weekend!

Unleashing Daisy

Yesterday, Daisy told me she was planning on moving out of town on September 30th (Friday). I decided to let her go. I like Daisy, but she’s been around for a while and it’s time to get some new blood in Forest.

Daisy: On the 30th of this month, I'm venturing out into the world. To celebrate the Cleveland Indians (baseball team) clinching their division (the AL Central), I made a new pattern tonight. It’s the block C logo that they use.

Me wearing the Cleveland Indians block C logo design.

Animal Crossing QR code for the Cleveland Indians block C logo.I have also added it to the QR Codes page and put it on my custom-design sign in town as well. However, it doesn’t show up very well at night.

The Indians' block C logo as my custom-design sign.I shook a tree near my house, and some furniture fell out (a bishop). But as I was about to pick it up, Bob walked up to the same tree…and he shook it too! He seemed disappointed that nothing fell out of the tree. I guess he didn’t notice my bishop just sitting there.

Bob looks disappointed that the tree didn't yield another item after he saw me shake one out of it.My recent dream visitors have been Marlon from Westcity and Emma from Tsuki. Thanks for stopping by!

Note: I have now converted all 800+ old New Leaf entries to WordPress and they are back on jvgs.net! If you’d like to revisit the early days of Forest, here is the entry from my very first day in Forest: Moving In. From there, you can either click the “previous” and “next” links at the bottom of the page, or just use the calendar in the sidebar to navigate to other days/months.

Seeing those early entries again was a nice trip down memory lane for me. That includes my early rivalry with Yuka, the time I got stuck wearing spacewoman pants and couldn’t remove them, getting ugly villagers like Tex and Katt, and the time when I thought the always-sleeping Cyrus was Reese’s son. I was quite surprised when he finally woke up and started yelling at me, telling me not to flirt with his wife! And of course there was the first Wi-Fi night too.

The old comments didn’t survive the move, but feel free to comment on any entry, old or new. What were your favorite memories from those early days?
