Go Hippo Go!

While visiting another town recently (a town I’ll be talking about more in the coming weeks), I saw that Michael was wearing some unusual attire. It wasn’t quite a hula hoop, but it did get around. And I’m getting a lot of mileage out of these puns.

Michael wearing a tire.I tried to stay one step ahead by squeezing into a boot.

Me standing in a single boot.I wish I could use it like Kuribo’s Shoe, but I couldn’t stand the pain. Not to mention, all this garbage was starting to attract flies, and I was too lazy to shoe them away.

Bob asked me for some furniture last night, but I didn’t have anything in my pockets that was appropriate. So I went to to the Emporium and picked out a nice lucky frog for him. I took it back to his pad, and he loved it! He put it on display right away.

Bob: Oh, wow! It looks super sweet! It’s interesting to see that Amazon has some lucky frogs for sale–the item description even says it’s to attract wealth for feng shui purposes!

Today is Hippeux’s last day in town, so I made sure to say goodbye to him. I didn’t really care for him, but he didn’t get a chance to annoy me too much, since his stay in town was so short. So long, hippo.

Hippeux: I won't ever forget about you! Make sure you do the same for me, and never stop dancing!Bob noticed a sapphire in my pockets and wanted to trade his red tie-dye tank for it. That’s a horrible trade for me, but I went ahead and made the deal. Only because it was Bob. I spoil my purple cat.

Bob: Let's make a deal! Wanna trade your sapphire for my red tie-dye tank?

Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that my most recent dream visitor was Charlie from Rota. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend!

Hamster Sweatpants

Last night, I was approached by a shady-looking goat that offered to sell me some “brand new vintage” goods. Was it a stolen TV? A laptop? Nah, it was a pickle jar! I hear these are hot items on the black market!

Pashmina: Say, I don't suppose you'd be in the market for my brand-new, vintage pickle jar?It was only 640 bells, so I bought it. What a dill deal!

June is here now, and so are fireflies. And many other summer bugs, too.

I caught a firefly! Now I'm glowing with pride! When I started up the game today, Saharah was right outside my house. I figured I would get her over with, so I invited her in. She installed a groovy wall and a diner tile.

A groovy wall and diner tile.I found a lost item in a deserted area behind the Sphinx and Bob’s house.

A lost item on the ground. The bag didn’t belong to Bob, so I continued asking around town. I ended up making a complete circle around town when I went into Hamlet’s house. Turns out, the bag contained little hamster sweatpants!

Hamlet: Oh! My new sweatpants are in the bag! I'm so glad you found them!He thanked me for returning them and he gave me a folk shirt in return.

My recent dream visitors have been Nami from Sunville and Emma from Laketown. Thanks for stopping by!

Hamlet’s Birthday

I did a lot of fishing (in town) and bug-catching (on the island) last night. I racked up over 200,000 bells worth of catches. Depositing that money kicked my bank account balance over 71 million bells.

Your current balance is 71,080,000 bells.Today, a message on the bulletin board informed me that it was Hamlet’s birthday! When I went into his house, he told me that he didn’t expect anything from me. He hasn’t lived in town very long, and I don’t really know him very well yet.

Hamlet: I really don't expect anything. But of course, I had to give him a gift. I was planning on giving him a customized item that was sitting in Re-Tail. Unfortunately, I must have been distracted when I went in there, and I forgot to pick it up! So the only thing I had for him was a mega dinkoid I dug up out of the ground. He wasn’t exactly thrilled by it, but he didn’t seem disappointed either. He said the important thing was that he had a bro like me.

Hamlet: You know, gifts are great, but having a bro like you is the best!
d’aww

Another rodent, Agent S, was also there to help Hamlet celebrate. She thought I only came because I heard she would be there! Not true!

Agent S: Hey! It's skippy! I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away once you heard I'd be here! But I think Hamlet and Agent S both had a good time. Happy birthday, Hamlet! I hope someone got you a nice wheel to run around on!

Back outside, I got some fairly big news. Hippeux told me he was planning on moving out of town on June 4th.

Hippeux: I'm making my big exit on the 4th of next month. At least that's the plan, natch.
Hip hip hooray!

There’s been a lot of villager movement in Forest lately: Dizzy moved out, Elise moved in, Peck moved out, Hippeux moved in, Elise moved out, Hamlet moved in, and Bob moved in. And that’s just since mid-April! I’m kind of tired of the revolving door, so when Hippeux asked to move out, I had to think about it. For two seconds. But I realized that this is my chance to get rid of him. Another opportunity might not come for months. So goodbye, hippo.

My recent dream visitors have been Ben from B-Town, Naomi from Hattorf, Karen from Home, and Carry from Dopolis.

One other note: Now that my museum is complete, I’ve put together a Crazy Redd Art Guide that shows the differences between real and fake works of art. It includes side-by-side pictures, as well as a description of what to look for. Feel free to use it anytime Redd shows up in your town! And good luck with your museum progress (if you haven’t already completed it)!

Thank you for visiting the blog today! 🙂 Have a great day and please stop by again. 🙂
