Postmaster Badge

At 10:00 tonight, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest–as I do each month on the second Friday. As I waited to see if anyone would come, I noticed the northern lights up in the sky.

Northern lights above Forest.I didn’t just stand around waiting, though; I worked on my badges. I went diving in the ocean, I did some fishing, I caught a few bugs from rocks, and I bought some packs of paper and mailed away about 24 letters to Pashmina and Velma. I also caught some snowflakes here and there, enough to redeem them for two pieces of the ice set from Snowmam.

Snowmam: As a token of my appreciation, please accept this ice floor.I haven’t been able to sell my ice set stuff for a while, though. Every day lately, the premium item at Re-Tail has been a random fish–it was a yellow perch today. Blah.

Once it got to be 10:40, I gave up on receiving any visitors tonight and I closed my gate. And once I did, Phineas appeared in town! He gave me the Postmaster badge (gold) for writing lots of letters.

Getting the postmaster badge from Phineas. That was the only badge he had for me today, but I’m not complaining. I’m glad that I won’t have to write any more letters! Here is an updated picture of my current badges:

Jeff's badges as of February 2016.

My recent dream visitors were Migs from Migsland (yesterday) and Clayton from Lebanon (today). Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

A Mitten for a Penguin

Saharah was in town today, and I paid her for some new wallpaper and carpeting. She put in this sky wall and flower pop carpet. It’s an interesting combination, I suppose, but I didn’t keep them up in my house.

Sky wall and flower pop carpet.Big Top told me he was planning on moving out of town on February 14th (Valentine’s Day)! My heart couldn’t take that, so I told him he better stick around.

Big Top: I'm leaving on the 14th of this month!Pashmina told me she was getting sick of the horse mackerel she’s had in her house for a long time. So she asked me for something else to put on top of her furniture.

Pashmina: Get me something to put on my furniture. Or you die!
I’ll help you! You don’t have to threaten me!

So I gave her a “fancy” jar of pickles.

Pashmina: A pickle jar! And it's been remade! Fancy!
I’d like to see you try to open it.

She rewarded me by giving me a soft-serve lamp. Ice cream for pickles? Sounds like a good trade.

Behind my tulip topiary, I found a lost mitten on the ground.

A lost item (a mitten) on the ground.
Who is the kitten that lost her mitten? She shall have no pie.

But it didn’t belong to a kitten, it actually belonged to a penguin. But penguins are used to much colder weather than this…why would a penguin need a mitten? Regardless, I found an embarrassed Aurora by the town fountain.

Aurora: This is embarrassing! I guess I dropped it somewhere! She gave me a dawn tank to thank me. Yeah, that’s right. A tank top. In the middle of winter. The penguin should be the one in a tank top, and I should be the one wearing the mittens!

Luna told me that Kati from CatVille was my recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by! Friday Night Forest is this week, so I’ll be back with that blog entry late on Friday night. Hope to see you then!

Festivale 2016

The other day, Velma told me she thought her greeting needed to be replaced. Because I was feeling lazy and didn’t want to come up with something new, I just told her to keep the same one. She took this to mean that her “flaw” was just imagined–and that she was actually perfect.

Velma: I see flaws in myself where there aren't any. I guess I'm still perfect.
Not what I was getting at…but you goat, girl!

I went to the Dream Suite and made a dream visit to Anzu’s town Konoha (dream address 7200-2427-9939). She had this awesome (if slightly creepy?) room with customized exotic furniture. I’m a big fan of the exotic furniture when it’s been customized in black and red. I should use this set in a room some day.

Exotic furniture customized in black and red. It’s a nice town, so give it a visit if you’re interested.

Anzu's town of Konoha.Today, of course, is Festivale. Confetti has been raining from the sky all day long.

Big Top: When I woke up, the sky was pouring confetti!Pavé the flamboyant, gyrating peacock was shaking his tail feathers over at the event plaza.

Pave: WOOHOO!He asked me why I wasn’t dancing like he was. Maybe I just don’t have bird mites in my pants.

Pave: What is wrong with your hips? Why do they not move to the music? He asked me to find a white feather for him (although he actually wants three of them, he leaves that detail out the first time). But I had no intention of going on his feather-hunting quests. It’s too much work for too little reward, at least considering I’ve already completed the Pavé set in the past. I ended up catching a couple of feathers, but they weren’t white ones anyway.

Even if you don’t collect the feathers, it is amusing to see villagers dressed up for the occasion. Velma was certainly in a dancing mood.

Velma: Shake it to the left, shake it to the right...And even grumpy old Rolf was enjoying the night.

Rolf: even an old man like me can shuffles his feet and pop a hip!I also caught a glimpse of the northern lights up in the sky. Even Mother Nature was cooperating with the colorful display.

Northern lights during Festivale.Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Jackson from Harmony was my most recent dream visitor. Daisy from Grapeton also visited recently. Thank you both!

I hope you all enjoyed your Festivale (if you participated). See you all next time!

Peck: Let's whoop it up and get this town hopping!
