Friday Night Forest for June

Today, I found a Snake in the grass campsite.

Snake: The camping is pretty good here, you know? I've decided to spend some quality time here!Agent S asked me for a new greeting, so I told her to say “Shhh…I’m a spy!” Hopefully that won’t blow her cover.

Agent S: Shhh...I'm a spy! Want to talk, cookie? At 10:00 tonight, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. T Zelda and Squishy came over to visit.

Squishy and T Zelda come over to visit.TZ said that she got a villager (Tom) from Squishy’s town, even though she didn’t have Squishy added as a friend. As they were talking about it, I had a sudden growth spurt.

I become a giant after eating a famous mushroom. We hung out in my house for a few minutes, and BranDex joined in the fun. We went out to the island for a couple of tuna-kahuna tours.

Yay! A tuna!Unfortunately, we didn’t earn gold Tortimer awards either time. But we did get silver once.

Wow! That's quite a catch! You've earned a Silver Tortimer award and 14 medals! After that, TZ selected a gardening tour…only to cancel it. So we went out on the island to catch some bugs and fish. It was surprisingly windy on the island!

Us all using emotions.Yes, we were having some fun playing with our emotions.

Using emotions. After a while, we returned to shore. BranDex left, but his spot was quickly filled as Rodney came over to visit. He hasn’t visited in a long time. We started throwing beans at Squishy, and she didn’t have any beans with her, so she couldn’t fight back.

Squishy: Forgot my beans. After a while, TZ left and BranDex returned. Squishy was telling me about her site/blog that she’ll be starting at some point this summer. I’ll pass along the link once she has it online.

-Squishy Pixelz- Coming summer 2015! Filled with Squishiness and orange smuggling!Around 11:40, Squishy was going to head out, and I decided to go ahead and end the session for the night. Thanks for coming, everyone!

According to Luna, my most recent visitor when I checked today was Ruth from Vesreal. Lana from Woahport was yesterday’s visitor.

I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow. Have a good weekend!

Saving Miss Daisy

Yesterday was the 2-year anniversary of the American release of Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I’d like to thank all of you who still keep up with this blog, even after two years. I hope your towns are all going well. 🙂

Daisy approached me last night and told me she wanted to move out of town on June 14th. Tough luck, dog. You’re not going anywhere; I installed an invisible fence around this town!

Daisy: I think it'd be good for me to make my own way in a foreign land, it's ruff.At the campsite, I found Lyman the green koala. I think he’s kind of weird, but he’s not as bad as some koalas in the game…don’t worry, I won’t name any names, Eugene.

Lyman: Anyway, I just need to rest my old muscles for a bit!!Saharah was in town, and she put in this dotted wall and backyard lawn.

Dotted wall and backyard lawn.I went on a few island tours with Merka, but I had to stop when I had a circle pad malfunction.

Me and Merka celebrating after a successful island tour.My original circle pad has been gone for a while now: First the rubber part wore off, and then the plastic part underneath broke apart piece by piece. All that was left was a tiny nub maybe half the width of a pencil. I bought some circle pad covers and super-glued one of them onto the nub. But after about a month, it came off. I re-super-glued it today though, so for the moment, all is well once again.

I had a chat with Rolf near my bridge tonight, and he said he felt like the town tree is watching us! It won’t leaf us alone!

Rolf: That tree in the event plaza has a weird sorta vibe to it, like it's watching us...When I updated my dream town, Luna told me that Megan from Newfluff was my most recent dream visitor.

I finished up my night with some more island tours. I went on the advanced-price fishing tour three times. You need to catch 40,000 bells worth of fish to earn a gold Tortimer award and 12 medals, and it was quite an easy feat. Because most fish that appear in the tour are so valuable, on average, I only needed to catch about five fish to earn gold.

Tortimer: WHOA! You're a master angler! You've earned a Gold Tortimer award and 12 medals! As a reminder, Friday Night Forest is this week. For people already on my 3DS roster, I’ll be opening my gate on Friday around 10 p.m. Eastern time (7 p.m. Pacific). Hope to see you then!

Monster Monday

Agent S invited me over to her house today, where she performed some experiments on me. Electricity was applied to my brain, and then a large, bony tentacle came towards me and…did things. Fortunately, a bucket near the foot of my “bed” allowed me to relieve myself.

Agent S performing experiments on me.Once I broke free, I ran to the east and crossed the bridge. I felt like a monster and I was afraid an angry mob of villagers was going to kill me, so I snuck into a tent at the campsite. Inside, I found Velma, of the Scooby Doo gang! Is she here because someone reported a loose Frankenjeff? Was she going to ghostbust me?

Velma and Frankenjeff at the campsite.Fortunately, it turns out she was just on vacation. I guess she didn’t notice how shaggy I had become. Still, I didn’t stick around long.

Velma: I'd like camping a whole lot more if I didn't have to sleep in a sleeping bag like this.I don’t know exactly what Agent S did to me, but the effect was starting to wear off as I walked through the rain. I was feeling human once again…at least externally. But my mental state was still causing me to do strange things–like speak to Cally.

Cally: Good evening, Jeff! If you go jumping into puddles, be sure to dry off later.Maybe seeing her face smacked me back into reality. I was beginning to feel like my normal self again. But I’m going to be more careful the next time Agent S invites me over to her house.

I went up to the Dream Suite to update my dream town. While I was there, Luna told me that Marcia from Lumina was my most recent dream visitor.

Later on, Merka came over to buy a painting from Crazy Redd. I also gave her a bubble wand I got from a StreetPass hit today. But she started throwing beans at me! So naturally, I got my own beans out and threw them right back at her! Getting hit with beans makes a person’s eyes get bigger/wider. But Merka’s eyes already look big and wide to begin with; hitting her with beans just makes them pop out even more.

Merka reacts to being hit by beans.I noticed that the flowers kind of “bounce” when they get hit by beans too. I like the small details in the game like that.

Throwing beans at flowers. I'm weird like that.Merka didn’t feel like touring (not with beans in her eyes), so I just ended the session.

Tom (the cat) asked me to return an item to Cally for him. Wait, so I have to speak to her again?

I took her the item, and it turned out she had already bought a new one to replace it. She sold me the item (a blue tartan tee) for a couple hundred bells. When I told Tom what happened, he said he should have kept it himself!

Tom: Huh? Cally didn't remember leaving it? If I knew that, I'd have just kept it! GAHAHA!
