Big Top met me outside my house this evening, and he told me he was going to move away on January 24th. Naturally, I made him change his mind. Forest needs its superheroes! Even if I can only pay him in peanuts.
I saw that Resetti’s manhole was open once again, so I hopped down to say hello. But he wasn’t home. Don was there, and he told me Resetti had to go to the doctor for his bad back.

But Don told me he actually had something to give me.
He gave me his picture! He warned me that this would be the only time I get something from him. The full name of the item is “Don Resetti’s pic.” I don’t usually think of Resetti as being the last name…after all, Resetti’s speech bubble just says Resetti.
Anyway, I returned home and looked for a good place to put the picture. I couldn’t find one, so I put it on the floor in the skiing room. I’ll just pretend he dug a hole through the snow.
It said that his favorite quote is “Jasmine oil on a mole’s head.” I hope he’s not talking about Jasmine from Aladdin.
Back outside, I noticed the northern lights up in the sky.
Despite getting the picture from Don, I was having a bad luck day; I kept falling all over town. I almost took a header into Miss Snowmam!
So I went up to see Katrina on Main Street to see if she could help me out. She said I needed some iconic bottoms…or she could sell me a special charm for 10,000 bells.
I bought the special charm, and it was a Tingle hood! I was happy to finally get one. I was less happy about how it looked on me.
I went next door to the Dream Suite and updated my dream town. Luna told me that Ellie from Rivendel was my most recent dream visitor. After I was done with my Main Street run, I returned to town. Kabuki was complaining about the tag on his shirt, saying it was itching him.
Some of my villagers told me Gulliver was down on the beach, but I didn’t bother to “save” him. The novelty has definitely worn off, and I completed my collection of his items a long time ago. I’m not going to ignore him every time he washes ashore, but today I’m going to let him sleep in.
I just want to let you all know that my New Leaf hair guide, face guide, and eye color guide are now mobile-friendly. You can view them on your phones without having to zoom and/or scroll horizontally. I hope this makes it easier and more convenient. I know most other parts of JVGS aren’t as mobile-friendly just yet, but I’ll be working on improving that in the coming days and weeks. Thank you all who visit JVGS regularly! And have a great day!
Later on, I went in to visit Octavian and I was surprised to find Molly was also there visiting him. For some reason, it’s hard to imagine the two of them having much in common.
Chip sent me my gold fish trophy in the mail, and I took it up to my trophy room on the second floor of the museum. But that room is filling up, so I might have to stop saving all the trophies I get. (The other half of the room has my extra villager pictures).
I stayed on Main Street for a while, because I had several stops to make. Of course I updated my dream town, and then I went into the post office. When I put the day’s money into the bank, my balance reached 32 million bells.
In the Happy Homes Showcase, Ash from Idiris gave me an indigo pinwheel. This was actually from a StreetPass I got last week, but I forgot to check the HHS until today.
I then checked my storage (and Able Sisters) for a good long-sleeve winter shirt. However, I didn’t find any that I wanted to wear, so I went to the Emporium and ordered this blue flannel shirt. I also ditched my blue cap and sporty shades, so I’ll be appropriately dressed for winter as of tomorrow.
I also told Tom, since he has an orange town too, and he came over as well. We hung out for a few minutes, and they caught some snowflakes and visited with my snowpeople. But then Tom suggested we all go over to his town for a bit. Tom’s friend Aggie also joined me and Squishy in Tomville. I checked Tom’s snowmen, and they all had numbers I needed (even though I didn’t get a bingo).
All four of us went into Chip’s tent to witness the awards ceremony for the Tomville fishing tournament. Caroline won 1st place, Peggy finished in 2nd place, and Tammi brought up the rear. Unfortunately, the game made me clap for them.
I sold some perfect peaches in Tom’s Re-Tail, and then Tom invited us all to Club LOL to watch K.K. perform. But Tom didn’t wait for us to get there before starting the song.
So Squishy and I just danced for Tom and Aggie.
Tom then ended the session and sent us all home. Today was the last day to sell turnips, and my price was only 56 bells or so. Tom’s was even worse, so I asked Squishy if she could check her prices. Her Re-Tail was paying 130 bells, so she let me sell my turnips there. I thought I was going to lose money for the week, but Squishy saved me and I earned a profit after all! Thanks, Squishy!
Her town
As soon as I returned to Forest, I found Phineas right there waiting for me! He gave me the World Traveler (silver) badge for visiting lots of towns. That was a nice surprise!
Here’s an updated look at my current badges.
Up on Main Street, Luna told me that Kenzie from Mystic was my most recent dream visitor. And in the Emporium, I see that my former villager Teddy has now started appearing in the shopping district. It’s good to see him again.
And after all that, I finally got to participate in the fishing tournament. The goal of today’s competition was to catch the biggest horse mackerel. I went fishing and caught a couple of them. One of them was 19.20 inches, which beat out Octavian’s fish for the top spot. Chip rewarded me with a jellyfish lamp.
Later on, I found that my fish remained in the top spot and I won the tournament! By that time, Drago had also surpassed Octavian for the 2nd spot. I made sure to attend the prize ceremony, although Chip said he’ll have to mail my trophy to me since my pockets were full.
Afterwards, Drago told me that he was planning on moving out of town on January 22nd. But I talked him out of it.
I then wrapped up my night by taking a look at my jellyfish lamp in my museum exhibit. It’s up on the wall.
