Lolly’s Birthday 2023

Yesterday, I received a letter from Cherry in the mail. She thanked me for inviting her over last time, and she sent me an imperial wall.

Winnie the horse was camping at the campsite, and she was talking about the voices in her head. 😉

Winnie: This trip was SO last minute, but I'm totally glad i listened to that little voice inside my head!
Was it the Horse Whisperer?

I found a lost item by the train station, and it was very close to being on the tracks! Good thing it didn’t get run over by a train. 😉

I picked up a lost item!

I returned it to its owner Cherry, and she rewarded with a dogtooth shirt! I hope the teeth aren’t hers!

Cherry: It's not much... But as a reward for findin' it, you should totally take my dogtooth shirt!
This shirt bites.

Today is Lolly’s birthday, so I headed over to her house for her birthday party. My buddy Rolf was also there to help her celebrate. 🙂

Lolly celebrates her birthday with me and Rolf.

I gave Lolly a towel rack that I bought from Harvey as a birthday present. But she didn’t seem very impressed. 😆

Lolly: Wow, a towel rack! I'm, uh, touched. Thank you!

Over by the town tree, Cube asked if there were any weird things that I like.

Cube: Hey, do you have any weird things you like? I definitely do.

He said that he likes holes in pants!

Cube: Like...holes in pants!
Do you even wear pants?

He elaborated that holes aren’t a good thing in socks, but they are in pants. 😛

Cube: Holes in socks aren't cool, but holes in pants are awesome!

My villagers kept telling me that Rolf was thinking of moving out, but I couldn’t talk to him about it because he was at Lolly’s party! But I started up the game again later, and he was finally outdoors. So he pinged me, and now he’s safely stuck in Forest for a while longer. 🙂

Inkwell and I were talking about me hypothetically being a soccer referee. He asked if I would give him a yellow card, a red card, or a blue card. I didn’t think there was a blue card in soccer, and I didn’t want to penalize him anyway, so I chose that one. So he accused me of not knowing much about soccer. 😛

Inkwell: You don't know much about soccer, do you, champ?

To be fair, I don’t know a lot about soccer. 😛 But I did know about the penalty cards, at least. 😆

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Maddie from DalyCity, Cookies from Cupcake, and Alyssa from Rosetown. Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!

Shamrock Day 2023

Last Saturday, Cherry asked me for some new furniture. She said it doesn’t matter what kind of furniture it is…because she’s a dog. 😆 Ah, I love when catchphrases work out like this. 🙂

Cherry: Any kind of furniture will do! I'm a dog!

Harvey was selling a garden faucet, and I thought Cherry (as a dog) could get a drink of water any time she’d like. So I bought this for her.

Harvey: Ah! So you're interested in my garden faucet...

Cherry liked it, and she rewarded me with a cube clock.

On Sunday, I saw a balloon present heading towards the geyser! Oh no, the present is going to get wet! 😉

A balloon present heads for the geyser.

But the balloon actually took a detour around the geyser. Not to mention, the geyser didn’t erupt when the balloon was overhead anyway. Oh well. 😛

The balloon present flies over the geyser.

I don’t always root for chaos, but Animal Crossing could use a bit of it sometimes. Just to liven things up. 😆

On Monday, Inkwell, was chatting with Lolly, and he ran out of topics to talk about. He asked for my advice, and I told him to talk about books. But Lolly overhead us (of course, since she was right there), and she was offended. Oops!

Lolly: Sorry I'm such a boring girl that you ran out of things to say!

But once she calmed down, she said that Animalese 101 was her favorite book.

Cherry was wondering if we dug deep enough, if we’d tap into a geyser. Judging by what was happening right behind her at the time, I’d say yes.

Cherry, with a geyser erupting behind her: I wonder... If you dig deep enough around here, do you think you'd tap into a geyser?

Today (March 17th) is Shamrock Day, better known as St. Patrick’s Day. I put on my club shirt and headed to the plaza, where Isabelle gave me a shamrock hat to wear.

Standing near Isabelle on Shamrock Day.

I did not turn into Mohawk McClover this year in New Leaf, though I did in City Folk and New Horizons. But at least that gave me the chance to keep the shamrock hat on, and my villagers all commented on it.

Molly: Is that hat to celebrate Shamrock Day? What a great idea, quackers! Hee hee!

Rolf asked me to fetch Lolly for him, and I agreed to help out. When we got back, Rolf told Lolly that he likes sweets, but not store-bought ones that are too sweet. 😛 So he asked Lolly to bake him something that was a bit more savory. Lolly knew just what to do.

Lolly: If that's what you want, how about using fruits instead of sugar as an alternative sweetener?

She’s going to bake something for Rolf, and I hope Rolf shares with me! 😉 Anyway, Rolf rewarded me with a green wardrobe. Fitting for Shamrock Day!

Cherry asked to visit my house, and I let her come over. I showed her every room before she left. She didn’t give me a reward at the time, but I’m expecting one in the mail soon!

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Kylie from Peachy, Noah from Stickvil, and Nicholas from Pouzes. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all had a good Shamrock Day! 🍀

Bad Trades

On February 25th, the snow melted and grass was green once again. My brick path was still made of ice bricks in these first few photos, but I’ve since changed them back to green bricks.

Green grass returns around the statue fountain.

Cube approached me with a suggestion for a trade: He wanted my silver nugget in exchange for his moldy shirt. Wow.

Cube: So how about trading your silver nugget for my moldy shirt?

Since I’m afraid to turn him down for anything (since I’m still desperately trying to earn his photo), I agreed to the trade. But he had the nerve to imply that it was an even trade: He said we traded treasure for treasure!

Cube: Yesssss! Trading treasure for treasure is win-win for both of us!
You mean trading treasure for mold.

As you can see in that picture, Saharah was in town. I paid her 3,000 bells for a sci-fi wall and a closed road.

A sci-fi wall and closed road in my house.

At Club LOL, I told K.K. Slider I was feeling a bit sad, and he performed King K.K. for me and my former resident Peck.

The credits roll as K.K. Slider performs for Peck and Jeff.

As a side note, Peck moved out of town nearly seven years ago, but he’s still hanging around Main Street. That shows you how infrequently new villagers move in and out around here. 😛

After the show, I found a lost item (a bag) down on the beach around 11:30. I started asking around, and it didn’t belong to Inkwell, Rolf, Boots, Aurora, Molly, or Cherry. Everyone else was asleep! But fortunately, the lost item was still intact the next day, and I returned it to Hornsby. He said there was raisin bread inside of it! He then rewarded me with a noodle tee.

Hornsby: The raisin bread I was saving is still inside! I'm so gonna eat all of it when I get home, schnozzle.
You are home.

Tonight, Inkwell told me that he was a man who loves his festivals in the sea. Appropriate, but you’re not going to get to many of those in this game.

Inkwell: I'm a man who loves his festivals, in the sea!

I saw a really big fish shadow in the river, and I caught a stringfish! That’s worth 15,000 bells!

Jeff, after catching a stringfish: OH MY GOSH!

But wouldn’t you know it? It didn’t take long for Cherry to ask about it.

Cherry: Hey! I'm curious about an item. Ready? Stringfish. You got a line on anything like that?

She offered to trade a cloudy tee for it. Since I’m afraid to say no to villagers I still need photos from (since they take seem to take years in this game), I agreed to the trade. This is actually even worse than the silver nugget for moldy shirt trade. Oof.

Cherry: Heh heh... Maybe that was a better deal for me than for you. Sorry! On Toy Day!
She knew what she was doing.

I’m starting to think my four newest villagers get together and brag about the awful trades they’ve weaseled me into. 😛 “As long as we never give Jeff our photos, he’ll do anything we want!”

There was a heavy meteor shower starting at 7 p.m., and Beth came over to wish on a few shooting stars with me.

Jeff and Beth wish on some shooting stars.

Later on, Jeremiah asked me for a butterfly. I grabbed an agrias butterfly from my dock box, and gave it to him. He rewarded me with a bathroom stall.

Jeremiah: It's a bathroom stall!

According to Luna, my most recent dream visitors were Michael from Galloway and Daniel from Walddorf. Thanks for stopping by! See you all next time!
