Sunday Gloomy Sunday

I didn’t bother buying any turnips this morning. But it was raining in town today, and Big Top said it felt like someone launched a giant water balloon at Forest. It was a dark and gloomy Sunday.

Big Top: A huh huh huh! It's like someone launched a giant water balloon at Forest, villain!I went out to the island today and tried an official scavenger hunt tour. I went from house to house, collecting the required furniture. I finished in under three minutes, which earned me a gold Tortimer award and 13 medals.

Tortimer: Heh heh horf! You did it, sprout! You found all of the furniture on your list!Over by my video screen, I heard the pinging sound of a flea jumping around; Molly has fleas!

Molly: Let's keep this flea thing our little secret!
Don’t worry, Molly. I won’t tell anyone! 😉

I went to visit Kidd, and I noticed he has a sloppy table in his house. He also has a pet football fish that looks really depressed.

Kidd and his football fish.In the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Mike from Vertakon was my most recent dream visitor. And later, I went over to Mark’s town to drop off a scenic painting I had for him. I tried taking a picture, only to see that I blinked. So I tried again, and he blinked. Ugh.

Mark and Jeff taking turns blinking. As I was leaving, Kugro came in to adopt Fang from Mark. If you’re reading this, hi Kugro!

Burying the Pitfall

While I was checking something in my house, Kidd invited himself in. I spoke with him and he gave me a durian. After that, I just sat on the couch and waited for him to leave.

Kidd: Sorry if I surprised you today. I hope you come by and visit my place next, cowboy!I was a bit tired of dealing with pitfalls around town, so I took one and buried it on my private beach. It’s not likely to be disturbed there anytime soon, and that should keep new pitfalls from appearing.

Burying a pitfall on my private beach.I played too late in the day to go shopping at the Emporium or Able Sisters. But I stopped in the Dream Suite to update my dream town, and Luna told me Andreas from Pixel was my most recent dream visitor.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Andreas from Pixel enjoyed your dream.I also stopped in Club LOL to hear a performance from K.K. I asked him for a random song, and he played Comrade K.K. for me.

K.K.: It's Jeff! I knew this cat wouldn't miss a show.

One Year Anniversary of Forest

It was one year ago today that I moved into Forest. And I know that in City Folk, Tortimer will send you a letter and a cake on your one-year anniversary. However, as I found out today, New Leaf does no such thing. The cake is a lie!

Naturally, I was a bit disappointed. But that didn’t stop me from celebrating. To mark the occasion, I held some giveaways on the friend code exchange page. Congrats to all the winners! Here’s a picture of me delivering a blue pinwheel to Lily from Utopia:

Visiting Sasha. And my final giveaway prize was strawberry ice cream. Maddie from Moon was the last winner of the day.

When I went up to the Dream Suite, Luna told me that my most recent dream visitor was Natalia from Valyria.

Later on, I took a picture of my town tree. But first, here’s a look back at how it started out one year ago today. I had just moved into Forest and planted the town tree, which was still a sapling. Aurora, Yuka, Harry, Gabi, and Rory applauded the new town tree.

A look back at Forest's first day.A year later, the tree has grown quite a bit. Four of the five villagers that applauded me a year ago have long since moved out of town (only Aurora remains).

The Forest town tree after one year.Forest has changed a lot in a year. What will it look like a year from now? Stick with me to find out; I’m not going anywhere.

Have a good weekend, everyone! 🙂
