Valentine’s Day

As I started the game up today, Isabelle wished me a happy Valentine’s Day and asked if I got chocolates from anyone special.

Isabelle: It's Valentine's Day! Mr. Mayor, did you get any chocolates from someone special?I checked my mail, and I had three letters waiting for me. One was from Isabelle, who sent me a chocolate cake. Molly sent me a valentine too, with a chocolate heart attached. And I also got a letter from Mom, who said she tried to make homemade chocolate, but it didn’t turn out. So she sent me a cacao tree instead. Here are my three Valentine’s Day gifts.

My Valentine's Day gifts. It was snowing outside, so that provided some relief from having to water my flowers. And I noticed a new house plot! Already?? Nan the goat is moving in tomorrow. Kidd may like her, but I’m not sure if I will.

Sign: This spot reserved for Nan's new home. -Nook's HomesBig Top was enjoying the snow…in more ways than one. He was eating the snowflakes! Hopefully he knows not to eat any yellow snow he may find on the ground.

Big Top: It's fun to catch the falling snow on your tongue! Mmmm! Refreshing!I made a snowboy out of the snow (not the yellow snow) and I made a good one today! So I’ll be getting a new snowman furniture item in the mail tomorrow.

Snowboy: I'M MEEEEE!If I’m not mistaken, I’ll only need two more items after the one I get tomorrow. Until then, I’ve decided to make nothing but snowboys. Unless I make a snowman or snowmam by accident, of course.

I found a lost item on the ground near the event plaza. But half of my villagers were hovering around my central bridge, so I was able to find the item’s owner pretty quickly. It belonged to Teddy. He gave me a stripe wall for returning it to him.

Teddy: Oh, YES! I freaked out when I lost my latest Sweatpants Monthly! At the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Hana from Somewher was my most recent dream visitor. And in Tia’s house, Tia offered me a tea set in a trade! Are…those her kids?

Tia: You could have my tea set in return! How about it? Will you trade? And Tia was also telling me a story about being without napkins. But I kind of got the impression she was talking about toilet paper.

Tia: It was so messy that I wound up using leaves instead... I kind of felt like a wild animal!I opened my gate at 10:00, but nobody came. So I closed up by 10:30. I finished up my night with a nice cup of coffee hot chocolate at the Roost!

It's so sweet! This must be... hot chocolate! Thanks to Brewster for the hot chocolate and thanks to you all for reading. By the way, if you haven’t read my Animal Crossing: New Leaf review, please check it out.

Happy Valentine’s Day and have a great weekend!

Brewster: Coo. Happy... Valentine's Day.

Call Me Mayor

I headed over to Tom’s town, and his snowman gave me a bingo. As usual, Tom starts quoting Rhythm Heaven Fever whenever I get a bingo.

Snowman: BINGOOOOO! Tom41: Pose for the fans! The snowman gave me a curling stone, which is a duplicate item. That confirms that I’ve received the entire ski set now. Andrew and Noah were also in Tom’s town this afternoon. I was having a bad luck day, so I kept falling on my face. Or into the bulletin board, in this case.

Falling into Tom's bulletin board. After a while, we got disconnected. Back in Forest, Kidd gave me a birdcage for some reason.

Kidd: Hey, J-bot, didn't you tell me you want to get your hands on a birdcage?I tried making a snowboy, but I didn’t make him good enough. Teddy approached me and asked if he could call me mayor too. Yes, you better! Or I’ll call you “evicted.”

Teddy: It was kinda wacky! So should I call you mayor too? Or is that only for close friends, oh pooh?Luna told me that Sophia from Hyrule was my most recent dream visitor.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Sophia from Hyrule enjoyed your dream.Saharah was in town today, and she redecorated my main room with a modern screen and a red tile.

A modern screen and red tile.I did some island hopping, and one of the islands had a cabana bookcase that I needed for my future giveaway. I now have 11 of the 13 items I need. I just need to find the screen and wallpaper now.

My partial collection of cabana furniture.

Tammy’s Last Day

This morning, Reese was buying turnips for 437 bells each! So I sold my 1,200 turnips for a cool 524,400 bells.

Reese: Well then...I could probably part with 524,400 bells for all of it, if that sounds OK with you?Unfortunately, the prices dropped to 138 bells in the afternoon. Otherwise, I would have posted on Twitter and Tumblr to let people come and sell their turnips. Anyway, I put my money into the bank and my balance topped 8 million bells for the first time.

When I returned home to check my mail, I had a letter from Gulliver and a letter from the snowboy. I got two gifts, one hot and one cold: A hula doll and a snowman wardrobe.

A hula doll and snowman wardrobe.I then went to say goodbye to Tammy. Today is her last day in town.

Tammy: Things have been hectic, but right now I feel totally wild and free! I'm leaving with a smile! GameCub!My friend Tiffiny was looking to get signatures for a petition, and of course she needed to come and get Tammy as well. So I opened my gate for her, and Tom came over for a short visit too.

Jeff: Hi T & T.After Tiffiny claimed Tammy, the yellow bear cub confirmed that she is headed to Tiffiny’s town Auctus.

Tammy: I'm moving to this town called Auctus. After Tiffiny was done collecting signatures, I ended the session. I then made a quick delivery, taking two queens to Ash. They were the last pieces she needed for her chess set. I couldn’t help but notice her brick paths look so much better than mine.

Ash's cool brick paths.I turned the game off for a while, but I later returned. Today’s fake rock had given me a gold nugget, but Skye wasted no time in asking for it. She offered her red warm-up suit for it. That’s a ridiculously one-sided trade, but I accepted it because I want to make her happy so I can get her picture at some point.

Skye: So would you consider trading your gold nugget for my red warm-up suit?Up in the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Racquel from Catville was my most recent dream visitor. In T&T Emporium (Timmy & Tommy, not Tiffiny & Tom), I bought some medicine for Big Top, who was still sick again today.

Big Top flips as he takes medicine.I spoke with Teddy, and he was boasting about his “jaw-dropping physique.”

Teddy: I think of clothes as the icing on the scrumptious cake this is my jaw-dropping physique! Haha!I tried making a snowboy, but failed this time. A couple weeks ago, I was doing so well with them, but I seem to have lost my touch. Anyway, that pretty much ended my night in Forest. But I’m going to talk a little bit about villagers.

With Tammy leaving, I don’t really have any villagers left that I dislike. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to keep my current villagers forever. It’s still fun to get new villagers in town, to keep things from getting too stale. And this is one reason I really don’t want people going to any trouble in getting villagers for me. I’m completely happy with letting random animals come and go.

If I get an occasional animal I don’t like, so be it. It can still be fun to pitfall them and hammer them if they need a good beatdown. I think a town full of “dreamies” would get boring after a while. Not to mention it would be a pain to always have to keep them from moving out. So I’m looking forward to getting another villager when the time comes. As long as it’s not Jambette. 😛
