April 1st is April Fool’s Day of course, but it also brings some other changes. In particular, some trees are now pink. It definitely gives the town a springtime feeling.
And being a new month, there is new DLC available at the post office. Talk to Pelly or Phyllis and you can pick up a cherry-blossom clock. It can be re-ordered from the catalog for 4,160 bells.
April Fool’s Day means villagers will try to play jokes on you. Big Top told me Forest was changing its name to Water Bottleville.

Rolf’s prank was a bit more believable: He told me the Able Sisters have a younger brother named Gable. Maybe we’ll see him selling gloves in the next game! 😛
This area near my house had three new black roses! I didn’t even use any fertilizer! I wish hybrids were this easy in City Folk.
Once I got to the event plaza, I saw that the town tree also has pink leaves now. Pretty cool.
That’s where I ran into Blanca.
Unlike in previous Animal Crossing games, you don’t have to draw her a face in New Leaf. Instead, she’s the ultimate prankster. She will disguise herself as your other villagers and appear with them in their houses.
You have to figure out which one is real and which is fake. They will make opposing statements about their hobby, number of siblings, favorite quote, or birthday. After they’ve both made their statement, you are asked if you know who is the real villager. If you say no, you can try again with a different set of statements.
Once you know (or once you’re ready to guess), you are given a cloth and you’re told to hand it to who you think is the impostor. The animal you hand it to will then wipe off his or her face. If your choice was correct, Blanca’s true form will be revealed.
A correct decision will also result in the villager giving you his or her picture. In this case, I got Agent S’s pic!
Blanca will then move from one villager’s house to another. If Blanca isn’t in a house you go in, you’ll just get the villager trying to play a joke on you.
When I went into Tia’s house, I saw two steaming teapots!
One of the Tias told me her hobby was blowing bubbles. I figured that was the fake one. However, when it came time to had the towel, I forgot I was supposed to give it to the fake one; I accidentally gave it to the real one without realizing it until it was too late.
Seeing two Mollys was almost a cuteness overload.
And the faces they make when they are waiting for you to make your decision is pretty funny.
After playing the game in each of my villagers’ houses, Blanca said goodbye for the year.
In all, I got seven of nine correct. I ended up getting Agent S’s pic, Rolf’s pic, Aurora’s pic, Skye’s pic, Nan’s pic, Kidd’s pic, and Big Top’s pic. The pictures of Nan and Agent S are new, while the others were duplicates. The five duplicates have been added to my stash. When I do eventually have the giveaway, it will have three winners.
And speaking of giveaways, the one for the cabana set ends tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The winner will be announced in tomorrow night’s blog entry.
I spoke with Kidd, and he was acting a bit odd. Any time a goat tells you about his stylin’ skeleton, you have to wonder about him…
I also saw Agent S, and I talked to her as much as I could. She told me she’s destined to be best friends with Fyree from n00btown. But then again, she says that about everyone.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Margo from Ladentek was my most recent dream visitor.
And next to Re-Tail, I bumped into Kidd once again. This time, he thanked me for the medicine I’ve been giving him lately and he gave me an exotic wall.
Gulliver was down on the beach, and I figured out he was headed to Belgium. So I should be getting another manneken pis in the mail from him tomorrow. It should be easy to spot; it’ll be the package that’s leaking.
And at the Happy Homes Showcase, I think I met an alien. Or something.
T. Zelda (or Toon Zelda) has allowed me to add some of her patterns to the
When I checked my mail, I saw that Katie sent me this world map.
I spoke with Agent S, and she asked to play a game of hide-and-seek. I agreed, and she gave me ten minutes to find her, Nan, and Skye. I found them all without much trouble, but Nan’s hiding spot was easily the worst.
I won the game, and Agent S awarded me the prize: a trunk measure. I’ll have to invite Big Top and Tia over to use that sometime.
Phineas was in town today, and he gave me the StreetPass Beginner badge!
This was only possible thanks to the StreetPass relay system. Otherwise, this would have taken me years. But I now have at least a bronze medal in every category except two: Dreams and letter writing. Here’s an updated look at my badges.
Over at my campsite, I found Whitney the wolf camping. My town is full (at least until tomorrow), so I couldn’t ask her to move in. Not that I necessarily would have anyway…I already have Skye, who looks practically identical except for the eyes.
I then went to say goodbye to Teddy, since this was his last day in town.
I later went up to the Dream Suite, and Luna told me that Lindsey from Forest was my most recent dream visitor. I also went into the Emporium to buy some medicine for Kidd, who was still sick today. He seems to be getting better though, so take a good look at him flipping…’cause it’s the last time!
After Skye (the wolf) visited my house, Kizlit from DayDream came over to adopt Teddy. She brought me a red balloon to thank me.
She went to talk to him and he confirmed he would be moving to the town of DayDream. Best of luck in your new town, Teddy!
Kizlit did some shopping while Yuka was on Main Street messing with me. As always.
Up in GracieGrace, Kizlit bought a bunch of princess furniture. What a big spender!
After that, I ended the session. But later on, Wendy opened her gate so I could sell some perfect peaches. We also traded a basket of peaches for cherries. My seven baskets of peaches earned me 189,000 bells.
As I sat on a stump behind a building, Wendy cut down a couple of trees. But from my perspective, the trees were invisible until they turned into a stump!
We also did some glitching into the
After that, my ghost decided to fly home for the night. I’ll be sure to haunt you tonight, Wendy! BOO!
