A Gigi Sighting

Last night, Wendy invited me over to her town Oakville. We glitched onto her lighthouse, and at one point, Gigi began staring up at me. I started feeling sick to my stomach. She must be Jambette’s sister. I was afraid to come down!

Standing on a lighthouse to avoid Gigi.Wendy eventually saved the game, which killed me and her (Wendy, not Gigi). We were attacking Gigi with our nets, when I accidentally talked to her! She said she wanted to visit Forest! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!

Gigi: And you're from Forest? How cool! I've always wanted to visit there. Ribbette!I stayed in Oakville until Wendy ended the party. Then today, Kidd was in the process of asking me for some fruit when he asked if his skin was looking off-color. I don’t know, you do look a little blue…

Kidd: Is my skin looking a little, I don't know, off color? I know I'm feeling more tired than usual. And Rolf tried to tell me he was going to move out of town on March 24th. I politely corrected him.

Rolf: I guess I'll stay in Forest for a little while longer and continue bothering people a bit more!Tia asked me to schedule a visit to her house. So I did, and I actually remembered to go!

Tia: Welcome! Please come in.I bought her minimalist bed for a decent price and then I tried out a new hairstyle. Do you like it?

Standing behind a plant in Tia's house.Luna told me that Amber from Lakeland was my most recent dream visitor. And poor Molly was fishing, but not catching anything. She said a book told her to just sit there until something bites. That might work in Harvest Moon, but this is Animal Crossing.

Molly: I read in a new book that if you just wait patiently like this, you're sure to catch something.Agent S asked me to find a carp for her, so I did. When I gave it to her, she rewarded me by giving me a genie vest. Uh, thanks.

Agent S: I kinda figured you would really like a genie vest! You are, like, my hero. That wrapped up my day in town.

On a different subject, I encourage you to check out my new Disney Magical World preview section. Disney Magical World is an upcoming 3DS game that features 60+ Disney characters and it has some Animal Crossing style elements. It runs on a real-time clock, you can buy and wear clothes and accessories, you can go fishing, you can even run your own cafe. It comes out April 11th, but Nintendo has provided me with an advance copy of the game and I’ll be writing blog-style entries as I progress through the game. So check it out if that sounds like something you might enjoy.

Thank you all for reading. I’ll be back with more tomorrow! 🙂

Into the Fire

Today, Gulliver sent me a Statue of Liberty from his trip to America. And when I spoke with Molly, she asked me for some fruit. I gave her a perfect orange, and she loved it. She rewarded me by giving me her pot rack. Molly!

Molly: I'm so satisfied! Here. I'll give you my pot rack as my way of saying thank you.Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Abbie from Happy was my most recent dream visitor. I went out to my island and then went to a random Club Tortimer island. To my surprise, there were already two people there. And just a minute later, another person came, so we had a full island. Here’s a pic of us all: Baia, me, Freddy, and Anna.

Four people on a Club Tortimer island. We went on the Super-Luxe Seafood Tour. I’m not a fan of the diving tours (or diving in general) because some of those faster creatures require a lot of button mashing. And some of them still seem to get away from you. But still, this tour went well. We caught 86,400 bells worth of seafood, which was good for a gold Tortimer award. Surprisingly, I actually got 2nd place. So I earned 6 bonus medals in addition to the 12 for the group.

Celebrating a successful island tour. After that, I returned to Forest. Aurora tried to give me a new nickname: Dearie! No, no, no!

Aurora: Ummm... How about dearie? After that, I checked my Happy Homes Showcase. To my surprise, there were five new homes in there! Only two of them were from today, so I must not have checked up there lately. I scored a new bunny balloon and a new pinwheel.

A crowded Happy Homes Showcase.Tom then invited me over to his town. Tom likes to experiment with glitches, so he had something for Kippei and I to try. He tried digging up an item with full pockets, and Kippei and I could not fill the hole back in. At least not until Tom dropped an item.

The unfillable hole.A bit later, I was sitting on a tree stump when another player (Meg) came over to visit. After the loading screen went away, I saw Kippei and I were both sitting on the stump!

Two people sitting on a tree stump!Anyway, Tom jokingly typed that he added Meg as a friend. He then quipped “How’d she get in if she wasn’t already on my list?” Meg replied that she came in through the gate, and then she suddenly left. I don’t know if she thought Tom was serious or what, but I kind of felt bad for her.

Tom then asked me to push him into the fire, where Kippei was already burning. I did, and they were apparently turning into popcorn.

Making popcorn in the fire pit.I used my net to glitch in with them (although I appeared on top of the fire from my perspective). It was hot in there. Very hot.

Standing on a fire pit.Tom then saved the game, and we all died in the fire. Oh, the fire! It burns meeee!

Passing out in the fire.We did a little more glitching, and then I returned home. Later, I went back up to the Happy Homes Showcase to look at the rest of the new houses. My favorite room was this kitchen from Mama’s house.

Mama's kitchen. And before I finished my game for the night, I remembered to change my eye color back to blue.

Harriet: Ta-daaaaa! ...Oh, it looks fabulous!

The Case of the Lost Item

While wearing my shamrock hat, I fell into a pitfall seed today. The hat completely blocks the view of my body, and I thought it looked a bit weird.

A shamrock hat stuck in a pitfall.I found a lost item not far from the train tracks. Hmm, who could this belong to? Detective McShamrock is on the case!

A lost item on the ground. When I went in the police station, there was an option to tell Copper about it. But he refused to help out. Maybe if there were donuts involved…

Copper: Citizen! I hate to ask, but you would be doing this town a great deed by searching for the owner in my place! So I went around asking every villager I could find. Big Top, Kidd, Agent S, Teddy, Molly, and Rolf all said it wasn’t theirs. Maybe I should dust it for paw prints…

Rolf: Nope, that's not mine. While I was on Main Street, I stopped to update my dream town. As for my most recent dream visitor? Well…I’ll let you see for yourself.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Butthead from Ugh enjoyed your dream.I also went up to Shampoodle to get my hair changed back to normal. I’ll have to change my eyes back another day.

Harriet: That'll be 3,000 bells, please! And when I went down to the beach, I found Nan. The lost item was hers; she said it contained an important recipe. Luckily for her, my drug-sniffing dog Booker was out chasing a criminal’s tail. So I’ll have to take Nan’s word for it.

Nan: Hey! This IS mine! She thanked me for returning it to her, and she rewarded me with a bamboo shoot. That’s all the reward I get? Shoot.

But Nan wasn’t the only animal on the beach: I also spotted Gulliver. I had to talk to him about 15 times before he woke up, but when he did, he made it clear he was heading to the United States of America.

Gulliver: I want to live out the real American Dream!I made my usual trip out to the island, and I was just about to end my game when Aurora asked me for a river fish. I caught a crucian carp for her, and I wasn’t sure if she liked it or not. But then she gave me a men’s toilet. I’ll take that a subtle hint to catch something better next time.

Aurora: It's a men's toilet.
