Northern Lights

As expected, the snowtyke sent me another snowman matryoshka. Tom asked me for it, so I’m going to give it to him since he helps me out with bingo numbers every day.

The Northern Lights were in the skies above Forest tonight, so I took pictures from various locations around town. Here they are over my train station.

The northern lights above my town hall. And here they are by my snow family.

Northern lights and my snow family.Crazy Redd was in town once again today. He had a basic painting for sale, but it looked the same as the fake one I bought recently. Two of the other three paintings were ones I already had in the museum, so my buying decision was easy. I sprung for this jolly painting.

Redd: I see! Ya seem to be really close to that jolly painting, yeah?I often customize the furniture I get from animals or at the store. I end up giving them to villagers when they ask for furniture. Here is a customized polka-dot clock I picked up today.

Take home the polka-dot clock?Over by my central bridge, I stopped to snap another picture of the Northern Lights overhead.

The northern lights from my bridge. When I went up to Main Street, Luna told me that Kyle from Delta was my most recent dream visitor. And in the Emporium, I had ACCF flashbacks when I saw Gabi and a classic buffet. Nice table.

Timmy: Ah, a classic buffet! A fine item, yes?Back in town, I was having serious trouble locating snowballs to build a snowman. Once, a dung beetle had it on the edge of a cliff and there was no way to save it. Another time, it was on the edge of the river and fell in. Another one smashed into a tree and shattered as soon as I got to it.

But mostly, I just couldn’t find them! Even though I would go indoors and come back out to reset them, there was one point where I made about five or six trips around town and still couldn’t find one of them–despite looking everywhere, behind every tree and every building. It took me over an hour before I finally rounded them both up and built a (purposely flawed) snowmam.

Snowmam: Starting today, I will be staying in town for a while. Please stop by for a chat every now and then. She wouldn’t even mention snowflakes, so I’m hoping she’s made poorly enough that the snowtyke won’t give me credit for her.

My buddy Kidd suggested a totem pole as a public works project.

Kidd: And it's free of charge! Yeah, what we definitely need around here is a totem pole.I’m not sure if I would want this in my town or not. At any rate, it doesn’t seem worth the hefty price tag (538,000 bells).

Totem pole: 538,000 bells. That wrapped up my (late) night in Forest, but I have two other things to share with you. One is a QR code for a Star Trek Starfleet uniform submitted by Roman. If you’re interested, check it out on the QR Codes page.

The other thing I have to share is a slideshow of my New Leaf pictures taken in the month of December. Enjoy!

Fashion Be Crazy

I started up the game this morning and began my search for Joan. She was selling turnips for 99 bells each, and I again bought 1,000 of them.

Joan: So 1,000 turnips comes out to be... 99,000 bells altogether. Do you wanna buy them?Tom had a bingo number that I needed, so he invited me over to come get it. Bingo!

Snowman: BINGOOOOO!The snowman gave me a lift chair, and I tried it out when I returned to Forest.

My new lift chair.Even though it appears to be hanging down from the ceiling, you can adjust the camera and see that it’s not actually connected to anything. It just hovers there. Anyway, Big Top came over to visit. He saw my ice vanity and assumed that meant I must wear make-up. Uh, what?

Big Top: Oh! Does that mean you wear makeup then, little top? After he left, I headed up to the Dream Suite. My most recent dream visitor was Kate from Oakhaven, but that’s not why I came here. It was time to go on a dream suite adventure! I headed off to a dream town based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

Playing in a Zelda themed dream town. It’s a really cool town that Zelda fans will really enjoy. For more info and pictures, as well as the dream address, check out my Termina page. Or for other cool dream towns, check out Jeff’s Dream Suite Adventures.

After I returned from my dream, I went to visit Big Top. Rolf was also in there, and he was talking about how some people put fake eyelashes on by gluing them to their eyelids.

Rolf: Can you imagine what it'd be like to accidentally glue your eyes completely shut? And then he uttered this classic line: Fashion be crazy, quackers.

Rolf: Fashion be crazy, quackers. When I went back outside, Teddy suggested a fire pit as a public works project.

Teddy: Hey, J-dog! You're the mayor. Fund a fire pit!It would be a great project for winter, and it’s affordable too.

Fire pit: 46,000 bells.I spoke with Teddy again, and he told me Tammy was kind of aimless. That’s what I’ve been trying to tell everyone!

Teddy: The other day I gave some advice to Tammy! She was kinda aimless. And last but not least, I rolled up two snowballs to make a snowtyke. But the little guy told me his family was perfect! No they’re not!

Snowtyke: I'm going to send you the most awesome thank-you letter for making my family so perfect! So I’m guessing this means I’m going to get another snowman matryoshka, when I was hoping for a different prize. My snowboy and snowmam were definitely flawed, so you may have to really mess them up badly to get the other items from Snowtyke.

Perfect Painting

I got Benedict’s goodbye letter in the mail today. He sent me his picture attached to the letter, even though I already had two of them. But that was nice of him. Benedict is an animal I was neutral towards at first, but he grew on me. He’s now my second favorite chicken in the game behind Egbert.

Benedict's goodbye letter.I also had mail from Crazy Redd, who sent me the perfect painting I bought from him yesterday. It turned out to be real! It’s titled Apples and Oranges, and it’s beyond compare.

Apples and OrangesLuna told me that Cassidy from Outset was my most recent dream visitor. When I returned to town, I saw Tammy sitting on my yellow bench. That bench was built in July, and this is the first time an animal has sat on it!

Tammy sitting on my bench.Saharah was in town, and I paid her to redecorate my house with new wallpaper and carpet. She installed a summit wall and a western desert.

A summit wall and western desert.Rolf asked me for some furniture that could sit on something else, to replace his pill bug. I wasn’t sure what to give him, so I caught a fish for him. He took it and rewarded me with…the pill bug.

Rolf: Oh, I won't need this piece anymore, so why don't you just take my old pill bug home?Big Top asked me for a red snapper. So of course I had to go fishing until I could find one. It took longer than I hoped, but I eventually got one for him. I took it to him and he rewarded me with a lovely bed. I seriously wanted to hurt him.

Big Top: It's a lovely bed! After 8:00, I went up to Club LOL to watch K.K. perform. To my surprise, Fuchsia was in there! She moved out of Forest on the 4th of July, but I don’t think I’ve seen her on Main Street until now. Perhaps Benedict’s move allowed her to start appearing on Main Street. But being the clueless deer she is, she asked if I was there shopping. Shopping? In Club LOL?

Fuchsia: Yo, Jeff! You here shoppin'? Heh...same here!Anyway, I let K.K. pick a random song, and he played K.K. Tango for me.

K.K.: Enough tuning--let's groove. This next one is for you, Jeff. It's called K.K. Tango. But when I took it home after the show, I found that I already had K.K. Tango in my stereo. I’m guessing this means I now have all of the regular songs. In other words, the songs that aren’t request-only.

That wrapped up my night, but Beth has submitted QR codes for three new dresses:  a kitten dress (with tail), a denim dungaree dress, and Ai’s dress from the Animal Crossing movie. If you’re interested, check them out on the QR Codes page.
